Aspiring generals can begin their conquest of ancient China on February 28, and it might be just the thing for players who got a taste for this particular slice of history with the recent Total War: Three Kingdoms. The structure of the series has shifted drastically over the years. While the 13th game had separate strategic and tactical layers, the 14th will be a gran

  • We’re in the final week of Skeleton Appreciation Month, so that means that all your games are getting dressed up for Halloween. The latest to don a pumpkin-headed costume is Two Point Hospital, the extremely British comedy healthcare management sim. Two Point Hospital is a minor favourite around here. As a fan of terrible puns, I must give credit to Two Point Studios for making the majority of illnesses utterly groan-worthy. Because Valve wouldn’t let them use 666 or 66.6, Two Point Hospital is

In a subsequent chat with investors, Intel CEO Bob Swan alluded to AMD racing past the company in process technology. He didn’t actually mention AMD by name, but did say Intel is “investing to recapture process leadership going forward.” Without taking a deep dive in architectures and process nodes, it’s fair to say Intel’s 10nm technology is roughly on par with AMD’

  • The Lithoids Species Pack allows players to control an empire of planet-devouring mineral-based creatures. The Lithoids do sound like an interesting faction to play as. Whether you (or the AI) play them as a more intelligent and discerning pile of rocks or an all-consuming landslide is up to you. There’s also a new Lithoid voice pack which I’ve not heard yet, but I’m assuming sounds a bit gravelly. The Lithoids Species Pack DLC is out now on Steam, GOG and Paradox Plaza for £5.79/€7.99/$7.99.

  • Modern Warfare aspires to be grounded and tactical while giving you the power to pilot your own heavy gunship. For as far as Modern Warfare moves the needle, it still spends so much energy checking the same old boxes. I can smell the piles of Activision money burned to make Modern Warfare look, sound, and animate this good.
