pcgamer wrote a new post, Watch new footage of Anthem in action, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
It’s near the tail-end of the video above, though you might want to watch all 18 or so minutes to get a better idea of what Anthem is. But if you want to cut to the chase and see what Anthem looks like, skip to 13:10. In it, we get a short tour through Anthem’s seemingly massive world, barely stopping to fire some missiles into a massive monster’s chest. The footage was preceded by a new cinematic trailer, and ended with a release date reveal, now launching February 22, 2019. We’re still tearing

pcgamer wrote a new post, Anthem will have no loot boxes and ‘no ability to pay for power’, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
Electronic Arts addressed one of the big elephants in the Anthem room during a “deep dive” into the game at today’s EA Play press event by stating unequivocally that there will be no loot boxes in the game at all. Cosmetic and vanity items will be available for purchase, but instead of buying a box and hoping that something cool pops out of it, players will know exactly what they’re getting up front. And nothing will be available to buy that will deliver any sort of gameplay advantage: As BioWar

pcgamer wrote a new post, New Battlefield 5 gameplay footage posted by Nvidia, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
Update: Some players have sponsored videos up, too, including JackFrags, Westie, and Flakfire. The Battlefield 5 gameplay trailer shown at EA Play wasn’t exactly straight capture, but Nvidia has our back with some less thrilling, more realistic gameplay footage. In it, we get a glimpse at fortification building, a few guns, a snowy map, and some anti-air gunning. Earlier, at EA Play, we learned that there’ll be a battle royale mode in BF5, but they didn’t say any more than that. We expect more B

pcgamer wrote a new post, Look at what EA has done to Command & Conquer, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
A new Command & Conquer game was announced at E3 2018 today! It’s called Command & Conquer Rivals and it’s coming out on iOS and Android. If you’re curious a pre-alpha will be available on Google Play for Android today. It involves moving units quite slowly to control hexes so you can launch a nuke at your opponent’s base. I guess we can go back and relive a time when Kane didn’t look like a cracked clone of Walter White.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Watch the new Anthem cinematic trailer, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
At this year’s EA Play, a brand new cinematic Anthem trailer debuted. We get a look at the four Javelins, the exoskeletal mechs players will pilot in BioWare’s shared-world shooter. The trailer is advertised as in-engine footage, and seeing that everything looks nice, the sheen bodes well for PC gamers. We got a new look at Anthem gameplay, too, and shortly after a release date of February 22, 2019 was announced. We’re still digging through everything EA revealed, and collecting everything we kn

On the heels of Unravel 2’s surprise release , today EA revealed another game from its EA Originals program: Sea of Solitude, an upcoming third-person exploration-focused game from Berlin-based developer Jo-Mei Games. As developer Cornelia Geppert explained on-stage at EA Play, Sea of Solitude tells a deeply personal story set in a world where, “when humans get too lonely, they turn into monsters.” As Kay, you explore Sea of Solitude’s beautiful, flooded, monster-infested world in search of answ

pcgamer wrote a new post, Madden 19 is coming to PC, watch the debut trailer, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
Announced in passing at EA Play prior to E3 2018, Madden 19 was confirmed for PC as part of the new Origin Access Premiere subscription package. This marks the first Madden title on PC in over a decade, which will be a welcome relief for many, I’m sure. A shiny new trailer also premiered, and while it looks great, it’s lacking in detail. See it for yourself above. Besides the trailer, we haven’t seen Madden 19 in action yet at EA Play, so stay tuned for potential PC footage, new features, and mo

pcgamer wrote a new post, Unravel 2 revealed at EA Play, available today, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
Update: Unravel 2 has been officially revealed at EA Play. Not only that, it’ll be available today (we couldn’t find it on Origin yet at the time of writing). Now, Unravel 2 has an ESRB rating that hints at co-op, which wasn’t in the original. The ESRB rating says that players will “control a pair of fantastical creatures called Yarnys”. The timing of the ESRB rating suggests we might find out more at EA Play later today, so stay tuned.

EA just announced EA Origin Access Premier, a new tier of its Origin Access subscription service that’s launching this summer. It’ll bring release and pre-release access to its new games, and not just its archive of games. This’ll include its biggest releases, like Battlefield 5, the newly announced Madden 19 on PC and BioWare’s Anthem. It’ll also include access to the Origin vault, with games from other developers available too. For UK players, it’ll cost £15 a month, or £90 for a year, or $15

pcgamer wrote a new post, Watch the Battlefield 5 multiplayer gameplay trailer, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
We got our first proper look at Battlefield 5 multiplayer gameplay during EA’s pre-E3 show today. It does contain gameplay, though it’s all cut together with cinematic moments, so it’s not quite the straight capture we’ve been waiting for—that should come soon, though. Watch above. We also learned that there’s a ‘Royale’ mode in Battlefield 5 that we’ll hear about later this year. We’ll have more on BF5 this week, including hands-on impressions.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Respawn announces Star Wars game Jedi: Fallen Order, and it’s coming in Fall 2019, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
Respawn Entertainment’s Vince Zampella just announced the name of their new Star Wars game, which we’ve known as being in development for a while. It’s called Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, and it’s set between Episodes III and IV. It’s set during dark times for the Jedi, at a point where they’re being hunted. As the name suggests, it’s a Jedi-themed game, but that’s pretty much all we know at this stage, aside from its release date: Fall 2019. Here’s a bit more clarification from the Star Wars o

At EA Play today, DICE showed off a brief clip of Battlefield 5’s destructability. Check out the clip above, which shows a tank busting through a house. We learned a little about BF5’s destruction—and fortification building—a couple of weeks ago during the big announcement. Read everything we know so far about Battlefield 5 here. DICE also announced a battle royale mode—or at least, they stood on the stage and said ‘Royale’ and said we’d learn more later this year.

During the EA Play press conference today, DICE announced a Battlefield 5 battle royale mode—they literally just said “Royale” and showed a screen we’ve seen before, indicating that it’s a fairly recent development. It’s “Royale re-imagined for Battlefield,” they say, with destruction, teamplay and other “pillars” of Battlefield, and it’ll come after launch. We’ll apparently know more about it later this year.

What do you get if you mash together Dark Souls and Alien? Something glorious, if the concept art from an Ubisoft Montreal artist is anything to go by. We wish he wasn’t joking. You can view the concept art in full by clicking here. And if, like me, the art gives you an itch to jump back into the Dark Souls series, then check out this Breath of the Wild-like mod that Joe tested last month.

Electronic Arts is offering a cracking deal on Battlefield 1, Titanfall 2 and all the DLC for both games: it’s $20 for the lot on Origin. That’s 75% off for the bundle, which was selling for $30 in a big Origin sale earlier this year. You also get Titanfall 2 Ultimate Edition, which includes the base game plus the DLC maps, modes and weapons. Not by much, mind—in that February sale I mentioned earlier, Titanfall 2 was around $15. We named Titanfall 2 the best shooter of 2016, while Battlefield 1

During the infiltration stage of Phantom Doctrine I walk this perimeter, testing the boundary, before finding a choice spot to break it. Phantom Doctrine is set in 1983, during the Cold War but later than you might expect. When I first heard about it I figured it would be more of a 1970s, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy kind of deal. The advantage of a later setting is more high-tech spy gadgets, with things like GPS a reality. Phantom Doctrine is being developed by CreativeForge Games (previously res
