pcgamer wrote a new post, Overwatch’s new LFG system is receiving glowing praise from the community, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Along with a totally revamped Symmetra, yesterday’s big Overwatch update introduced two new social features: Endorsements and a Looking for Group (LFG) system. Endorsements let players rate other players for being a good teammate, and the LFG system makes it easier for players to build well-balanced teams while playing their favorite role. The Overwatch subreddit and other community hubs are overflowing with stories of LFG success. This post from Reddit user Inspyrashun , recounting a tense and

pcgamer wrote a new post, I returned to DayZ after almost 4 years, but it feels like I never left, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
DayZ is planning on a 1.0 launch in 2018, and recently began testing its new engine on version .63 experimental servers. There have obviously been some changes since 2014, but in ways both good and bad, DayZ feels pretty much like the same game I played years ago. But it’s still hard to see a zombie walk through a wall in DayZ all these years later and not be left with a sense of disbelief. DayZ seemed to change, though, slowly throughout 2014, into a game where nearly everyone just shot first a

pcgamer wrote a new post, Former Bungie composer Marty O’Donnell could be coming back to Halo, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Award-winning Halo and Destiny composer Marty O’Donnell’s acrimonious split with Bungie in 2014 didn’t get much coverage on PC Gamer. After all, Destiny was a console exclusive, and so were the last few Halo games that O’Donnell worked on. Neither did O’Donnell winning a lawsuit against Bungie through arbitration, recovering stock and overtime pay he claimed he was owed. In a follow-up tweet, O’Donnell wrote about the coffee meetup: “There was nothing ‘random’ about our meeting.'” If he’s not re

pcgamer wrote a new post, BioWare would like to make smaller, more ‘experimental’ games, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
BioWare makes big games. “I would like to get to a place where, yes, we’re doing our big next thing, but maybe we’re also kind of doing a few experiments. I’ve heard it called ‘triple-A indie,’ which is that sort of high production value, but still smaller scale, smaller budget.” Hudson cited Rockstar Table Tennis as an example of a major studio making a smaller, kind of off-the-wall game, and Ubisoft has done similar things with games like Blood Dragon, Valiant Hearts, and Grow Home. Before Bio

In the meantime, enjoy some French ravioli and pizza pizza grilled pizza. This eatery not only serves burgers (the best, apparently), chicken, and pizza, but grilled coffee too. And don’t forget to order that Californian classic to go with it, the pizza pizza grilled pizza. Good luck getting into this San Francisco restaurant for a slice of pizza pizza grilled pizza, because someone appears to have stolen the stairs. Then Paint Store, the store that sells paint, is here for you, my friend.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Fortnite may have surpassed $300 million in revenue in a single month, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
A recent SuperData Research report estimates that Fortnite Battle Royale pulled in $318 million in May, the first time it’s broken the $300 million mark in a single month. Overall, Fortnite is said to be up 7 percent in May compared to April, when it pulled in $296 million across all platforms. By way of comparison, it earned roughly $223 million in March, and $126 million in February, the month it passed PUBG. But it’s number one on the list of free-to-play games ranked by highest single-month

pcgamer wrote a new post, Pro overclocker Der8auer on why the race to add CPU cores ‘doesn’t make any sense’ and why you should still overclock, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
This race between Intel and AMD, the result is that we’re seeing so many more CPU cores nobody needs. But the majority are gamers, they need high CPU speeds, say four or six cores. So I’d personally like to see CPUs with, say, 4-8 cores, clock speeds around 5GHz, but more PCI Express lanes. Do you think overclocking has become less important, generally, for gamers? I’m also going to be a bit biased on that, because I’m working really really close with Thermal Grizzly.

pcgamer wrote a new post, What did you buy in the Steam Summer Sale?, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
If you pulled the trigger on any games during this week’s sale, let’s talk about them! This week’s question: What did you pick up during the Steam Summer Sale? You don’t have to buy stuff just because Steam puts it on sale. Naw, honestly, it’s mostly because all the games on my wishlist, like SCUM, aren’t for sale yet, let alone on sale. I’ll just have to wait for the Steam Autumn Sale instead.

And after poking around Destiny 2’s database and files, players reckon they’ve worked out another part of the update: a new weekly event called ‘Armsweek’, not to mention nine new Exotic Catalysts. As Reddit user and Destiny sleuth u/eander points out, a quick search of Bungie’s database shows four Armsweek Nightfall Strikes tied to specific Exotic weapons, plus an Armsweek Strike playlist “requiring a specific weapon loadout.” Found in an Armsweek activity, possibly a unique Nightfall Strike. pcgamer wrote a new post, Fallout 76 trailer shows off C.A.M.P. basebuilding, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
The Garden of Eden Creation Kit—the G.E.C.K.—is a device of singular importance in the Fallout universe. It’s a portable terraforming technology that can transform blasted chunks of wasteland into viable, life-supporting land in very short spans of time. In Fallout 76, players will establish their post-war settlements with a similar, but still very different, device called the Construction and Assembly Mobile Platform—the C.A.M.P. The quick clips of base-building seen in the trailer look very re

CD Projekt finally showed off what it’s been getting up to with Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 earlier this month. All of which might lead you to think that the full release of the game isn’t too far off. “This is the most polished part of the game we have now, prepared in some sense to show it to people outside the company,” CD Projekt chief financial officer Piotr Nielubowicz said. Nielubowicz added that CD Projekt has been “holding cash,” which I take to mean that it’s building up cash reserves, in par

Trust of god: One of the finest swords ever created, and Cao Cao personal weapon of choice. Instead of picking a faction, as is traditional in Total War, you pick a character from a choice of 11. It’s designed to be a more vanilla take to please long-term fans of historical Total War games.

The only concrete detail is that Elgato’s connected home business, Elgato Eve, will continue to be its own separate entity under the name Eve Systems. We wouldn’t be surprised if Corsair started selling its own brand of capture cards at some point in the near future. Fo

pcgamer wrote a new post, Fortnite player destroys Tilted Towers in one shot, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Fortnite Battle Royale players were convinced Tilted Towers was going to be destroyed back in April, even going so far as to hold a wake ceremony for the notorious city, but what do you know, the damn thing’s still standing. So, Reddit user u/Vercyx decided to destroy it himself—with just one shot. It’s a neat trick that makes for a great clip, especially when set to somber music, and it’s not exclusive to Fortnite’s battle royale mode. As Vercyx pointed out, his Tilted Towers clip was inspired

Captain Spirit is the alter-ego of 10-year-old Chris. Captain Spirit plays similarly to the original Life is Strange in that you walk around the 3D environments and choose how to interact with various objects. But, those moments aside, Captain Spirit tells its own story, and it’s one which feels very hit and miss. Watching Chris play with toys—particularly when he’s talking to a teddy dressed as a superhero sidekick via walkie talkie—is charming. But Captain Spirit has far less time to cultivate
