pcgamer wrote a new post, Modder finds way to play Dark Souls as a Crystal Lizard, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Popular Dark Souls modder and explorer ZullieTheWitch has figured out a way to play the RPG as any of the enemies or NPCs. So yes, that means you can play as a Bonewheel, and it means you can play as a Crystal Golem. But more importantly, it means it’s possible to play as a Crystal Lizard (see picture above). Or perhaps you’d prefer to play as a Crow Demon (who closely resembles Ornifex from Dark Souls 2). The Dark Souls specialist has also thoroughly dissected the recent Remaster for unused equ

The original Unravel was good, but not without its annoyances. “With its natural dioramas, Unravel succeeds at magnifying the sweet sadness I feel when I reminisce about old friends and long days of exploring. EA offered up a ten-hour trial of the original Unravel in 2016, and today it opened the doors on basically the same thing for Unravel 2. Available from Origin, the trial version offers ten hours of play across the game’s first two chapters. The Unravel 2 trial will be available until July

In 2014, television director Casper Kelly teamed up with Adult Swim to make Too Many Cooks , a viral video which imagines a hellish sitcom whose opening devolves into a bloody mess and then keeps going for another six or seven increasingly meta minutes. Kelly’s new video Final Deployment 4: Queen Battle Walkthrough gives gaming videos and personalities the same treatment. You really do need to see it for yourself:It’s mostly just weird for the sake of weird, but buried somewhere in the madness i

pcgamer wrote a new post, We Happy Few is getting a second chance in Australia, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
We Happy Few was refused classification in Australia last month, meaning it was effectively banned in the country. It might seem a bit silly for a country that does actually have an R18+ classification, although its introduction in 2013 doesn’t appear to have had much on-the-ground impact for Aussie gamers. “Please note that the Review Board can only consider submissions about We Happy Few itself and not any other matters relating to computer game classification policy or issues generally.” We H

Overwatch’s Play of the Game feature is sometimes a bit of a mess, but overall it’s a very popular feature. In fact, it’s such an important part of the experience that Blizzard wants to patent it. The patent application was originally filed at the end of 2016, crediting lead gameplay programmer Keith Miron and designer Geoff Goodman as inventors, but only became public earlier this month. With the Battle for Azeroth expansion for World of Warcraft on the horizon, Blizzard is beginning to slowly phase out some Legion-specific features starting with artifact weapons. Once that happens, you’ll still have your artifact weapon, but the powerful traits that actually make it worth using will be deactivated. Artifact weapons aren’t the only things slowly being phased out in preparation for the new expansion. You can find a full list of the impending changes in this blog post. World of Wa

Sadly, this year’s SGDQ Gungeon speedrunner, Teddyras, got screwed. “If I need to, if I get bad weapon drops, I can just stick with the sword,” he said at the start of his run. Apparently the universe took that as a challenge, because Teddyras went on to get some of the worst drops I’ve ever seen, let alone in a live speedrun. Instead of the hearts Teddyras desperately needs, the fourth boss—which, incidentally, is immune to the Gungeon Ant—drops another crappy weapon. Teddyras’ run comes to an

Fear the Wolves is a “post-apocalyptic first person shooter battle royale” being developed by Vostok Games, the team behind the still-in-beta online shooter Survarium that’s made up of former developers of Stalker. Vostok hasn’t revealed much more about Fear the Wolves than the bare-bone basics, but it’s now taking signups for an upcoming beta that will give players a chance to actually see the game from behind the trigger. “Fear the Wolves is reaching the next stage of development, and is now a

GTA Online’s Motor Wars offers triple RP and GTA$ this weekend. Born during last year’s PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds-inspired battle royale renaissance, Motor Wars’ weaponised vehicles, small maps, and busy UI stands it apart from the likes of PUBG and Fortnite. With that, Motor Wars is one of my favourite Adversary Modes—assuming you have 28 bodies (two to four teams) to pack out the match. CD Projekt Red has launched an ongoing blog series that breaks down its Cyberpunk 2077 E3 trailer frame by frame. By the developer’s reckoning, “almost every scene in the E3 2018 trailer tells a story of its own”—and while we gathered everything we learned from E3 2018 and more, it’s always nice to hear from the developer itself. The Duke was the nickname of the very first Xbox controller. “I took a huge amount of crap for the size of the controller back in the day,” designer Seamus Blackley told Inside Xbox. The Hyperkin Duke is a faithful replica of the original controller, albeit with a few changes to accomodate modern games. It’s actually a touch smaller than the original Duke, but still bigger than anything else on the market. It’s a functionally solid gamepad, but feels a little cheap and plasticky compared to the
