pcgamer wrote a new post, EVGA’s water-cooled GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid card is just $500 ($109 off) on Amazon, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
Water-cooled graphics cards are almost always sold at a premium, compared to normal air-cooled cards. If you’ve been on the lookout for an all-in-one water-cooled graphics card, this may be the deal for you. Right now, you can get the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid card for just $499 on Amazon. Most air-cooled GTX 1080 cards are around $480-500, so this is a great deal by comparison. You can buy the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW Hybrid on Amazon.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Intel’s updated GPU driver is optimized for Warhammer 40,000 Gladius – Relics of War, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
Intel is pushing out a new graphics driver for several of its integrated graphics options, and it contains performance optimizations for several games—Warhammer 40,000: Gladius – Relics of War, Defiance 2050, and Banner Saga 3. We don’t generally recommend running integrated graphics for gaming if you can afford a discrete GPU, but we like that Intel is getting in the habit of releasing updated drivers to coincide with new games. Intel also maintains a gaming portal where you can plug in your CP

pcgamer wrote a new post, Quarto is what would happen if Tic-Tac-Toe were a fun game, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
Late last month a digital version of Quarto showed up Steam, and I’m much more enamored by it than I thought I was. An abstract game designed by a Swiss mathematician almost 30 years ago, Quarto is a simple and lovely game that requires you to really think, but occasionally feels more like a puzzle than a game. Like most abstract games, Chess or Checkers or what have you, you could play Quarto with stuff you find around your house. It’s not always easy to get someone else to try a new abstract g

pcgamer wrote a new post, Cities: Skylines, Orwell, Darksiders join EA’s Origin Access, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
In fact it’s so ugly, I reckon you’re better going it alone—which you can now do via EA’s Origin Access. The subscription service has now opened its doors to Colossal Order’s city-builder, and seven other games. Darksiders: Warmastered Edition also joins Origin, alongside Rime, Orwell: Ignorance is Strength, Mad Games Tycoon, Jotun Valhalla Edition, Ghost 1.0 and Crashlands. Besides Cities, my favourites there are probably Orwell and Jotun. More information on EA’s Origin Access subscription ser

While England anthem Three Lions clings to the hope that, one day, maybe, they could win the World Cup again, most Scots have reconciled with the fact that we never will. pic.twitter.com/a5i61wCr7GJuly 13, 2018The free World Cup 2018 update is out now and features all 12 official Russian stadiums and the 32 teams who qualified for this year’s tournament. But you can play as countries that didn’t qualify, including Scotland, as long as you create a custom tournament rather than playing in the mai

pcgamer wrote a new post, The futile search for a single message in Far Cry 5, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
After a number of huge games and reinventions, Far Cry has accumulated an absurd amount of thematic obligations. In Far Cry 5, the character of Faith is both deceived and deceiver: tragic, like her brother John. Shooting brainwashed cultists to the beat of Disco Inferno with an enthusiastic pyromaniac, you could easily believe Far Cry 5 is a goofy if tone-deaf romp. Searching for what is possibly a certain alleged tape with a loud undercover agent, you might see Far Cry 5 as a GTA-esque satirica

The indie scene is busier than ever, and as such has become increasingly difficult to define. Speaking at the Develop conference in Brighton, Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail said “indie is bigger than ever, and also it is dead.” He reckons indie game development, as it’s perceived today, echoes the foundations of punk rock. “Indie is bigger than ever and also it is dead. “The beautiful thing about indie is that it has grown beyond any proportion we could have thought.

Try Hacknet for free. And, like me, you’ll come away convinced you’re a super hacker spy. Hacket is free to try on Steam from now through tomorrow at 10am PST / 6pm BST. pcgamer wrote a new post, Fortnite servers are temporarily down while Epic investigates problems, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Epic has just announced it is taking Fortnite’s servers down temporarily, due to ongoing server issues following the roll out of Season 5 earlier today. Then, a little later: “We’re taking servers down to further investigate the root cause, we’ll keep you updated on the status as we dig in.” History suggests they’ll have it sorted pretty quickly, but in the meantime you can check the game’s online status here. Season 5 launched earlier today to much fanfare. Or, if you’d like to take a leisurely

Ahead of the expansion’s launch on August 14, Blizzard has just announced a date for the World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth pre-patch – and it’s coming next week. On July 17 the patch will roll out, serving to bridge the gap between Battle for Azeroth and last year’s Legion expansion. This includes a new War Mode, PvP talents “and more” that’s yet to be specified. Meanwhile, the Legion PvP post-season will commence, and a new Communities feature will allow users to “bring [their] friends and

Technically, Stardew Valley multiplayer was designed for four players, but technicalities have never stopped modders before and they’re sure as hell not going to slow their roll for Stardew Valley, of all games. Case in point: Community Farm , a content pack by modder SgtPickles which comes fully loaded with a massive 156×156 map and support for 10-person multiplayer. I’m not sure if Community Farm is compatible with the Unlimited Players mod, but I dearly hope it is, because it could solve that

James Ohlen has been with BioWare for an awfully long time: 22 years, in fact. He was the lead designer on the original Baldur’s Gate and has racked up design and writing credits since then on games including Neverwinter Nights, Knights of the Old Republic, Jade Empire, Dragon Age: Origins, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and Mass Effect: Andromeda. I’ve loved my time with Anthem, Star Wars, Dragon Age and Dungeons and Dragons. “The most fun I’ve ever had at BioWare was as the lead designer on Bald

Fortnite Season 5 in 2018: I drove an ATV through a rift in the space-time continuum and fell on your junky house from hundreds of feet in the sky. With Fortnite Season 5, building into the sky to create a sniper nest is no longer the winningest tactic. Things are bound to change over the next few months, but here’s what I think of all the major updates in the first week of Fortnite Season 5. Shallow, rolling hills centered by a ritzy clubhouse have replaced Anarchy Acres, the least drastic map

Florida-based gaming convention GuardianCon technically begins tomorrow, but its organizers have been hosting a series of ‘Charity Blitz’ streams all week, with all donations going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. You can watch the moment the $100,000 donation drops below. The best part is that Ninja isn’t watching the donation feed when it hits and only notices a few seconds afterward, stunned silent. It was also fun to see the moment GuardianCon’s total donations crossed $2.7 million.

The latest update to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive brings both good news and bad news for players in the Netherlands. Steam trading and Steam Market functionality, which were disabled last month, have been re-enabled, but players in the country, as well as Belgium, are no longer able to open containers—which is to say, loot boxes. Belgium issued a similar ruling on loot boxes shortly after the Netherlands and specifically named CS:GO, along with Overwatch and FIFA 18, as being in contraventio

Head towards Tomato Town. Fortnite’s treasure map challenges are back in Season 5 and week one asks you to follow the treasure map found in Risky Reels. This is the easiest challenge to achieve out of the four that are part of the Battle Pass exclusives. It would traditionally require you to find the map in Risky Reels but we’re gonna jump straight to the solution. Head to Risky Reels if you want to find the treasure on your own.

The Unreal Engine Marketplace is a bit like Steam: People create digital content—textures, animations, music, props, or whatever—and sell it through the platform to game creators. Also like Steam, the asset creators keep 70 percent of the selling price, while Epic claims 30 percent—until now. “Thanks to both the Marketplace’s growth and the success of Fortnite, Epic now conducts a huge volume of digital commerce,” Epic founder and CEO Tim Sweeney said. “The resulting economies of scale enable us

Earlier this year, Ben Brode, Hearthstone’s booming, bearded and beloved former director, abruptly announced that he was leaving Blizzard to help start a new company that would “probably make games.” Today Brode took to Twitter to formally announce that company: Second Dinner. In other words, Second Dinner is a thing and it’s going to make games, but that’s about all we know. Brode’s Twitter bio says he’ll be working as Second Dinner’s chief creative officer, but it’s unclear who else will be jo

We’ve tested a bunch of office chairs and gaming chairs, and have plenty of recommendations at various price points. The site is selling a “High Back Executive Bucket Seat Racing Style Chair” in three different color options, each one priced at $65. We haven’t tested these chairs, but it’s probably a safe bet they’re not the on par with the Secretlab Omega, or most our picks. For what it’s worth, the user reviews are mostly good. The white and black has the most user reviews (7,775) and is sitti

What’s so good about the B350i Pro AC? At stock, the MSI B350i Pro topped our X265, Cinebench R15 Multi, Fry Render, and AIDA64 memory latency scores across every Ryzen board we’ve ever tested by quite a margin. And, sure enough, peak draw testing puts the B350i Pro second highest, coming second only to the Gigabyte AX370-Gaming 5, drawing a hefty 172W from the wall, compared to the AX370’s 197W. Power draw is higher than we’d like to see, but not enough to worry us, as those temps are still wit
