  • Fantasy Flight Games has announced a new card game from Magic creator Richard Garfield. Called KeyForge: Call of the Archons, it’s a ‘Unique Deck Game,’ in which each and every deck of cards is a unique set highly unlikely to ever be reprinted. At release, KeyForge will have a starter set with a few decks and lots of game tokens, as well as its unique boxed decks. The game is a pretty strange idea in today’s card game landscape, which emphasizes customizability and collectibility, encouraging pl

  • Fantasy Flight Games has announced big additions and a slate of new releases for miniatures games Star Wars: X-Wing Second Edition and Star Wars: Legion. Confused by all these Star Wars tabletop games? Here’s our overview of the best Star Wars board games. The previously announced monitor will land on retail shelves on August 7 for $699.99 (MSRP), the company announced today. Among other things, the certification requires that panels be able to produce 400 nits of brightness. This is supposed to reduce eye strain by dynamically adjusting the brightness and color temperature in respon

  • I find the planet of my dreams almost immediately, but the ‘never fly my ship again’ part doesn’t quite work out. I find so much more by stopping to peer through my visor than I would rocketing along and using my ship’s scanner. It would be cool if maybe one in a thousand planets in No Man’s Sky was a superplanet of some kind, a world with multiple biomes. Irritated, I get back in the ship I’m trying not to fly, and fly it to the anomaly, where the little Gek inside demands I meet 30 aliens and

  • Two weeks ago, we highlighted a deal for a Radeon RX 580 with 8GB of GDDR5 memory for $229.99. The one that was on sale a couple of weeks ago was based on AMD’s reference design with a single-fan, vanilla cooling solution. MSI’s Radeon RX 580 Armor 8G OC takes things up a notch with faster clockspeeds and a dual-fan cooling solution. It’s not a wild overclock—the card boosts to 1,366MHz, up from AMD’s reference 1,340MHz clock—but the fact that it runs slightly faster could suggest a better binne

  • Finally, I use the ‘murder’ command. The console’s ‘murder’ command is very different to the ‘kill’ command. This is notable for being the first major war she’s waged on the Italian mainland. Matilda’s army just sits there doing nothing as the Warscore tips in Jordan’s favour. Using the ‘play’ command to take direct control of Matilda’s army is clearly cheating, so I just have to let things play out.

  • Prior to the launch of No Man’s Sky’s NEXT update last week, I wrote about modder Redmas’ NMS Origins. Designed to “restore the original vision” of the game, the creator stressed their love for No Man’s Sky and that their adjustments aimed to improve what they already considered a great game. Just over a week following the launch of NEXT, Redmas has created eight mods along similar lines. • Motherboard makers are apparently eager for the arrival of Intel’s not-yet-announced 9th generation Core processor family. Perhaps too eager, depending on how much of secret Intel wants to keep things. That’s all fine and dandy, except that Intel has formally introduced any 9000 series (9th gen) CPUs yet. If those are accurate, Intel will be releasing two 8-core CPUs, including the Core i9-9900K and Core i7-9700K. Finally, Intel is also said (unofficially) to be releasing another high-end SKU, t

Author Andy Weir’s story of a lone NASA astronaut stranded on Mars is a perfect fit for the focused, real-world-adjacent rocket physics of KSP. Using the new mission planner, KSP forum member Mikki recreated the drama of The Martian for brave Kerbals to suffer through. • Part of the reason I’ve covered Cyberpunk 2077’s E3 trailer frame-by-frame series in its entirety, is because CD Projekt Red hasn’t yet released footage from its E3 demo. “Speed is a major theme in Cyberpunk 2077,” explains CD Projekt Red.
