  • A nasty World of Warcraft bug has caused all in-progress quests in a player’s quest log to be automatically abandoned. If you had a collection quest that had items not marked as “Quest”, your progress should update as soon as you pick the quest back up.” While players can now log in safely, it’s possible that progress has been lost for those who happened to log in while the bug was still present. Over on the World of Warcraft subreddit, some players are reporting losing progress on quests that w

Simply put, this is the fight that EVE Online players have been wanting for years. That means each second in EVE Online is actually taking ten seconds to play out. For EVE Online’s fabled fleet commanders, it’s a logistical nightmare. That’s a staggering loss easily in the range of 3 trillion ISK, EVE Online’s in-game currency—and it’s growing by the minute.

  • Death’s Gambit is a challenging 2D action RPG which has been in development since at least 2016. When you watch the new trailer embedded below, you’ll probably be put in mind of Dark Souls, and there’s some fairly obvious comparisons to be drawn with Dead Cells, too. Between this, Dead Cells and Chasm, we’re spoilt for choice at the moment. In studio White Rabbit’s words: “Death’s Gambit is a hardcore 2D action platformer with rich RPG elements. • There’s no text chat, just a voice chat system that’s push-to-talk by default for communication with your squadmates. Valve has a pretty typical report system in place, but it’s basically only available at the end of a match. A “majorly disruptive” designation automatically gets you a permanent ban, but Valve’s description only mentions cheating, not abusive behavior. Psyonix also has a chat ban system in place that, well, bans jerks from using the text chat window. However, that outspokenness m

  • The saga of the Sinclair ZX Vega+, a handheld retro console based on the Sinclar ZX personal computer from the early ’80s, has taken another unfortunate twist. “We would love to see the Vega+ consoles in the hands of fans,” a Sky representative said. “However, as RCL [Retro Computers Lrd.] “Last week we shipped a few units to some selected supporters who have had unwavering faith in us, and the response and comments on their Vega+ units has been uniformly joyful,” the company said. • Hypergun is a high-speed roguelite FPS about a man named Dewey Owens, an intern at DevTech Labs who has become instrumental in the development of humanity’s ultimate-weapon defense against alien invaders. Not because he’s a particularly talented warrior or weaponsmith, but because he broke into the office over the weekend (apparently fending off extraterrestrial hordes is strictly a 9-to-5 gig) and ended up in the testing sim. The levels themselves are randomized and packed with simulated aliens

  • Bohemia Interactive has released a new “Encore Update,” technically known as update 1.84, to its realistic military FPS Arma 3. The update adds two new SAM and radar systems, anti-radiation missiles and small-diameter guided bombs, and the pièce de résistance, the USS Liberty, a static, placeable destroyer with detailed interiors and new naval fire-support options that can launch and recover helicopters and smaller ships. That’s a very Arma-sounding bug indeed. Bohemia recommended verifying the

  • Prices for Nvidia GTX 1080 cards have been slowly falling over the past few months, with most of them being around $470-500 right now. If overclocking isn’t much of a concern, EVGA’s GTX 1080 FTW2 DT model is just $459.99 right now at B&H. This is a ‘FTW2 DT’ card, which means it will not be able to overclock as high as EVGA’s standard ‘FTW2’ models. You can buy the GTX 1080 FTW2 DT from B&H. No tax is collected outside New York and New Jersey.

  • It’s a complex issue that drives straight to the heart of why players love and hate World of Warcraft’s approach to storytelling. It was, aside from some small conflicts in Silithus, the first major act of war between the Alliance and Horde. For Horde players in particular though, the matter is doubly concerning since they are effectively complicit in the burning of Teldrassil. To put it simply, Horde players are just tired of feeling like the bad guys all the time. But one thing is clear: The B

  • Following the recent Siege-themed expansion for Ghost Recon Wildlands, however, some fans are speculating that one of the next operators is right in front of us. The theory is that Nomad, Wildlands’ protagonist, will be joining Team Rainbow in Season 3, and the reasoning isn’t that far-fetched. Nomad’s backstory reveals that he was in Delta Force before becoming a Ghost. The new mission pack pulls a lot of Siege operators for fully voiced cutscenes and missions that go beyond any story elements

  • Changes to planets, resources, and tech were expected, but more of a surprise were some changes to existing, player-owned ships. It didn’t affect everyone, but one player’s favorite ship was reconfigured, and they’re will to pay handsomely to find a near-identical replacement for the original. Reddit member avaslash posted that they’re willing to pay 200 million units (technically, items worth 200 million, since in-game money can’t be passed around) if someone can find a match for the ship they

  • In the meantime, there are deals to be had on the current-gen stuff as vendors look to clear out space. For example, Rakuten is selling a Dell Inspiron Gaming desktop with a Core i7-8700 and GeForce GTX 1070 for $1,089.99. That is the price after coupon code DELL210, which you can apply simply by clicking on the “Save Coupon” button in the product listing. It shaves $210 off the normal selling price. • Rendering VR content in 8K requires some serious horsepower, more than Pimax may have initially anticipated when its Pimax 8K headset first landed on Kickstarter. At the time, the company said a GeForce GTX 1070 would suffice. GTX 1070 is the minimum graphics cards that we can run 8K with, however, GTX 1070 cannot utilize the full potential of Pimax 8K,” Pimax said. • NZXT is best known for its computer cases and other gear, though it may have aspirations of branching out beyond PC hardware. NZXT mentions it is a proponent of the “smart PC” through integrated software, which is what its CAM software provides, but stops short of saying how Forge ties into it all. Hou did offer up that adding the Forge team to the mix will help NZXT advance tools like CAM, though exactly how remains to be seen. Outside of CAM, NZXT has mostly been involved on the hardware side

  • Sunless Sea is coming to PS4 consoles, I learned today. And I discovered Enneagon’s impressive Tales of the Grave-Garden expansion mod that launched earlier this week. A year in the making, Tales of the Grave-Garden is an “enormous” expansion pack that brings ten new ships, four new shops, three new Officers—”complete with stories”—and two new adorable Mascots to Sunless Sea. If you reckon so, more information, including installation instructions, for Tales of the Grave-Garden can be found here.

And as you’ll learn in a few seconds, its launch trailer is filled with handsome men in sharp suits kicking the shit out of each other. If you hadn’t worked it out by now, Yakuza is pretty out there. Here’s Sega’s official run-down:A prequel to the long-running series, Yakuza 0 is the perfect entry point to the Yakuza series.
