pcgamer wrote a new post, Get a GTX 1080 for just $430 from Amazon, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
Last week, EVGA’s GTX 1080 FTW2 DT was $460 from B&H. The same card is now just $429.99 on Amazon, making it one of the cheapest 1080 cards (if not the cheapest 1080) on sale right now. If you’re not familiar with EVGA’s lineup, the ‘DT’ marker means it cannot overclock to the same level that normal GTX 1080 FTW2 cards can. It runs at the stock 1607 MHz, and can boost to 1733 MHz. You can buy the GTX 1080 FTW2 DT from Amazon.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Samsung is building new high-capacity SSDs to flood the market with 1TB+ drives, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
That “massive move” Samsung envisions won’t happen without lower price points, as there are several 1TB and bigger SSDs already on the market. The benefit of transitioning to 4-bit QLC NAND flash memory is efficiency in production. By expanding the bit count from three to four, QLC memory achieves a much higher capacity. Interestingly, Samsung claims its upcoming 4-bit 4TB QLC SATA SSD maintains the same performance level as a 3-bit SSD, by using a 3-bit SSD controller and TurboWrite technology.

pcgamer wrote a new post, This RX 580 is just $250 right now from Newegg, or $225 for Mastercard customers, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
Graphics card prices are currently in freefall, as the impending launch of Nvidia’s 11-series draws closer. Except for a few flash sales, prices for mid-range cards like the GTX 1060 have largely been unaffected. If you’ve been waiting to buy a card in the ~$250 price range, this is the deal for you. The Sapphire Radeon NITRO+ RX 580 8GB is currently $249.99 on Newegg, while other models are trending around $260-280. Performance is roughly equivalent to a GTX 1060 6GB, but you get 2GB more memor

pcgamer wrote a new post, Frostpunk’s free ‘People and Automatons’ update lets you name your suffering citizens, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
People and automatons go together like soft, squishy things and giant, heavy, stompy things with no empathy and poor peripheral vision. Thematically, then, “People and Automatons” seems like a very appropriate name for the new Frostpunk update that was released today, free for all players. Humans and machines have been coexisting unpleasantly since the game was released in April, but this update enables you to give them both a more personal touch by changing their names. 11 Bit said that more fr

pcgamer wrote a new post, Corsair’s K70 LUX RGB mechanical keyboard is on sale for $110, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
Amazon is selling Corsair’s K70 LUX RGB mechanical keyboard at a discount today. While the list price is a little ambitious, the next lowest price for a new model from a reliable vendor is $129.99. The K70 LUX RGB is similar in design to the K95 RGB Platinum, one of our top keyboard picks, minus some of the advanced features found on the pricier plank (like dedicated gaming/macro keys). The version that is on sale uses Cherry MX Brown key switches. Cherry MX Brown is widely considered to be the

Capcom plans to “explore” more remakes following Resident Evil 2, we learned last week—assuming the reimagining sells well. “While we have shareholders to appease, it’s not just about commercial performance,” Capcom Europe COO Stuart Turner tells gamesindustry.biz. “And in some respects, getting some very good review scores counts as much for Capcom as a game that sells millions and millions and millions. Following GTA Online’s treasure hunt where you could unlock a Red Dead Redemption 2 revolver, you can now unlock a stone hatchet from Rockstar’s upcoming Western. Unfortunately, while console users can unlock the same weapon in Red Dead Redemption 2 at the same time, you can only use it in GTA Online, since Red Dead hasn’t been announced for PC. A little while after you sign into GTA Online, you’ll get a text message from a new contact called Maude Eccles, who you might remember from GTA 5. It l

In light of its multiplayer update last week, I had a rummage around in Stardew Valley’s cabbage patch of player-made mods. There, they say: “Portrait overhaul including all characters and all expressions/reactions. All interpretations of the characters are my own and originally I just developed this mod for my own game, but eventually

Ion Maiden is the new game from 3D Realms being made in the same engine as Duke Nukem 3D, built to play like a first-person shooter from the 1990s. You may remember Ion Maiden’s protagonist from a previous game, Interceptor Entertainment’s top-down ARPG Bombshell, which Ion Maiden is a prequel to (not that you need to have played it first). At one point, Shelly ‘Bombshell’ Harrison was almost an NPC in Duke Nukem Forever. When that game’s creators left 3D Realms the decision was made to have Bom
