pcgamer wrote a new post, I bought this Steam game just to see what the hell it was, and after playing I still don’t know, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
There isn’t much of anything in the game Leisure Town, and what is there is entirely baffling, just like this conversation I had with the first NPC I met—and Leisure Town was baffling me before I’d even started playing. In the first-person game, I find the advertised ants, and MR. CUBE (did you know his full name is MrMadCube?) Side note: I discover the application for Leisure Town is named 123.exe and the configuration window calls it Zigzag. I click on the boats to see if the game tells me tha

pcgamer wrote a new post, Ubisoft on Rainbow Six Siege’s first Major tournament and its booming esports scene, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Over two years since its debut campaign, the modern Siege esports scene is near unrecognisable—and it shows little signs of slowing down. It seems like the Siege esports scene is in rude health. Can the same be said about its esports scene? François-Xavier DenieleFrom your perspective, is Siege’s esports scene a different entity from the base game or are they interlinked across the board? The Siege esports scene is constantly growing.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Guild Wars 2’s next update tackles big questions while adding a deadly new zone, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
The Guild Wars 2 of today isn’t Guild Wars 2 that launched in 2012. Right now, Guild Wars 2 is as good as it’s ever been. This story contains some spoilers for Guild Wars 2’s story. It all feels very much like existing story missions in Guild Wars 2, but the banter between the NPCs makes the routine cave crawl a lot more fun. Even though this wasn’t a major encounter, it did a great job of showing off why Guild Wars 2’s combat is still so much fun.

pcgamer wrote a new post, I put ‘Gamer Goo’ on my hands, and god help me I actually liked it, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
When I first heard about Gamer Goo, I thought it had to be a gag, like novelty vomit or fake dog poop. An interesting product with a relevant hook that actually does what it promises was not on my list of predictions. The lotion promises to improve your grip on mice and controllers by keeping your hands dry while you’re playing, even if you’re a profuse sweater. My mind flew back to my original assumption that the “Gamer Goo” was an uncomfortably literal gag, and I’d just squirted it all over my

pcgamer wrote a new post, Asus is releasing a power supply with a built-in OLED display, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Asus is expanding its product lineup to now include power supplies, and it’s looking to make a splash with its first model by implementing an OLED display into the PSU’s chassis. The new ROG Thor is the first consumer PSU featuring an integrated OLED power display. Beyond the bling, the guts of the ROG Thor are based on Seasonic’s Prime series, “but optimized on components and heatsinks.” To the company’s credit, Seasonic has a reputation for building reliable power supplies. It’s also backing t

pcgamer wrote a new post, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai calls California’s net neutrality rules ‘illegal’, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
(Image: © Flickr via Gage Skidmore)California is trying to enact its own set of strict net neutrality rules, and if successful, other states could (and probably would) use it as a blueprint for passing similar bills. In the wake of net neutrality rules being rolled back, California and other states are attempting to restore the rules on a state level. The FCC foresaw this happening, and so it claimed the power to preempt state net neutrality rules in its Open Internet Order. Whether the FCC has

pcgamer wrote a new post, Hearthstone to add four new Classic cards, but in-game tournaments ‘on hold’, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Less cheeringly, it’s also brought news that in-game tournaments, which has been announced previously, are now on hold for the foreseeable future. “Looking forward, we expect more cards to join the Hall of Fame,” Blizzard wrote. “There are also still some gaps in Classic where neutral Legendary cards joined the Hall of Fame, so we’re considering adding some new cards to the Classic set in the future.” We no longer felt that the end result would deliver on everyone’s expectations or the high stan

pcgamer wrote a new post, Get a 512GB Samsung 960 Pro NVMe SSD and Far Cry 5 for $180, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Put your hard hat on and try not to get hit by falling SSD prices. They’ve come down fast and hard over the past several months, and how low they’ll ultimately go remains to be seen. In the meantime, there are deals to be had, such as this one for a Samsung 960 Pro 512GB NVMe SSD. Samsung launched its 960 Pro series almost exactly a year ago. This is a fast drive that is rated to deliver sequential read and write performance of up to 3,500MB/s and 2,100MB/s, respectively.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Get a Razer DeathAdder mouse for $25 from Newegg, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
If you need an inexpensive gaming mouse that won’t break easily, this is the deal for you. Newegg currently has the Razer DeathAdder RZ01-00151400-R3U1 gaming mouse for just $24.99. This is an older model of the DeathAdder mouse, originally released in early 2015. As strange as it might seem, that’s actually an advantage—many of the newer Razer mice have reliability issues. You can buy the Razer DeathAdder mouse from Newegg.

The cyberpunk bartender action game VA-11 HALL-A is getting a sequel, and its title is just as weird (and annoying to type) as the original. N1RV ANN-A: Cyberpunk Bartender Action will feature the new adventures of a new bartender named Sam, who works at the “most iconic and luxurious bar” in the idyllic upscale paradise of Saint Alicia. It sounds like N1RV ANN-A will play a lot like VA-11 HALL-A, as lives and stories will change based on which drinks are served to what customers. “Most games us

pcgamer wrote a new post, September 1999 is a VHS-style free horror game you’ll finish in 5 minutes, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
This lunchtime, as I miscalculated the start of a PC Gamer meeting, I found myself with some extra minutes to spare. I used this time to download 98DEMAKE’s September 1999 from Itch.io after seeing the developer tweet about it, promising that it takes a lean 5 minutes 30 seconds to complete. It’s a pretty simple little game, putting you in a corridor with a camcorder while the scariness escalates. “It’s pretty much an experiment on the whole ‘watching a tape’ style of gameplay,” says the develop

Fortnite’s V5.41 update is now live and introduces a new consumable for both Battle Royale and the Playground game modes, as well as a new Horde Challenge and item. First up, the ‘Port-a-Fortress’ has been added to the Battle Royale mode. Next we have the ‘Spiky Stadium’, which deploys in a similar way as the Port-a-Fortress. Though it looks cute, it’s no less deadly than it’s Battle Royale counterpart. You can check out the full patch notes for Fortnite’s V5.41 update here.

‘Burning Bridges’ is the fourth—and penultimate—episode of The Council, and is set for release on September 25. Set in the 18th century, The Council focuses on you, Louis, and your part in the dealings of a secret society. A few days ago, we reported that Resonance of Fate for PC had shown up on a German classification site; tri-Ace has now confirmed that Resonance of Fate 4K/HD Edition will arrive on PC via Steam as a digital download on October 18. That last one is now getting a second ‘season’, should it hit its modest Kickstarter target of £31,104. Like the first game, the second season will contain six episodes, and follow Detective McQueen and Officer Dooley as they uncover bizarre, otherworldly mysteries. The tone is what makes Darkside Detective so enjoyable: “it’s warmly funny and offbeat, like a detective drama that isn’t rubbish” is what I said, according to a banner on the Kickstarter page. “Yes, the Darkside Detective Season 1 m
