pcgamer wrote a new post, An official VR Twin Peaks game is in development, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Collider Games is developing Twin Peaks VR, an interactive experience which is set inside the Red Room. An announcement on the Collider website explained that Twin Peaks VR would include “iconic moments” from both Twin Peaks: The Return and the original series that premiered in 1990. There’s never been a proper Twin Peaks game, although there are plenty of games that take direct or indirect inspiration from Lynch’s landmark TV series. Elsewhere, Life is Strange has a major Twin Peaks vibe, as do

pcgamer wrote a new post, New Darksiders 3 trailer shows Fury unleashing the Force, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
THQ has released a new trailer for Darksiders 3, which reveals more about how the game’s modular combat will work. Titled “Force Fury”, the minute-long video demonstrates the third horseman’s unique combat style. The form demonstrated in the video is her Force form, which centres around concussive and telekinetic powers. That studio was then downsized after Crytek ran into trouble, and the core team reformed again as Gunfire Games, who are developing Darksiders 3. If Gunfire can pull-off everyth

pcgamer wrote a new post, Footage of Amazon’s MMO New World leaks online, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Footage of Amazon’s MMO New World has been leaked online. In terms of play, however, the game evidently takes as much inspiration from survival games as it does traditional MMOs. Building structures is one, as New World will supposedly feature an almost entirely player-built world. I am concerned that New World lacks something unique to make it stand out from the MMO crowd. That said, perhaps the game will be very different once scaled up to Amazon’s goal of 10,000 players per server.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Latest Windows 10 Update stops future updates interrupting your game, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
The update also makes some improvements to the Windows 10 Game Bar. To begin with, the Game Bar is now an app that’s accessible from the apps menu. The bar now shows CPU and GPU usage of the game you’re playing, plus your average framerate. All told, the update makes Windows a little more useful and a little less irritating when it comes to running games. If you’re running the October update you can access the Game Bar through the app menu, or by pressing the Win+G keys.

Balancing time between work and video games is a struggle, no matter who does it—even, apparently, for professional hockey players in the NHL. According to Bo Horvat, a 23-year-old center playing with the Vancouver Canucks, players have decided amongst themselves to ban video games for the upcoming 2019 NHL season, which starts tonight. No more Fortnite, no more bringing your video games on the road or anything…We’ll have to put an end to that.” Weirdly, Horvat says that players should be bond

“Dark Souls mods have the potential to get a whole lot stranger,” reckons prominent Souls figure Zullie the Witch. Designed to let players add models from other games to Lordran, the latter marks a new age for the Dark Souls mod scene. Zullie says that while the Dark Souls modding community is dedicated, it’s still relatively small. As these talented modders continue to tinker with Dark Souls, we move further and further away from the idea that modding Dark Souls is impossible.” Image credit: Re

The Blancpain GT racing series may or may not be on your radar. Released in Early Access last month after a few beta phases, Assetto Corsa Competizione’s offering at the moment is barebones in the extreme: one car, one track, and some AI drivers for company. It’s enough to give a glimpse of what’s to come, which is the kind of structured solo championship racing the original Assetto Corsa never really managed. Ask a professional Blancpain GT driver. There should be enough here to sustain a small

Dungeons & Dragons Online went live on February 28, 2006, and so October 3, 2018 isn’t really an anniversary of any obvious sort. The update adds a new raid to the game called Killing Time, for level 32 on Normal difficulty, which is open to all VIP players and owners of the Dragonblood Prophecy adventure pack. The annual Night Revels festival is back as well, with two new dungeon challenges, a new public hub to access the Night Revels challenges, and new items including cloaks (which will now b

It’s a fairly common complaint among the PUBG community that the developers aren’t doing enough to combat cheaters, but numbers assembled by redditor sjk045 indicate that a whopping 13 million accounts have been permanently banned over the past 69 weeks. The figure is based on weekly reports posted by Bluehole on the official Korean PUBG Cafe, indicating the number of cheaters banned that week. The banhammer swings gently at first—the first week saw 1,852 accounts banned, 1,294 accounts were tak

pcgamer wrote a new post, You can get Black Desert Online for free, but only if you can reach level 56 in one week, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Black Desert Online is a “buy-to-play” MMO with purchase options ranging from $10 to $50, and a free 7-day trial for people who are curious but not convinced. Any players who can take a character to level 56 and complete the “awakening quest” before the 7-day trial expires will be given a free Starter’s Package, which normally sell for $10/£8/€10. I have no idea how much effort it takes to reach level 56 in Black Desert Online, but it sounds more like a step in the process than an end-game goal.

Ubisoft has finally broken its silence regarding the Splinter Cell series, and while it’s not exactly good news, there is a glimmer of hope that we might see another game.
