On the desktop side, Walmart is rolling out three models: OP Gaming Desktop DTW1, DTW2, and DTW3. • Steam is the big boy of digital storefront seasonal sales, but it’s not the only game in town. GOG is getting in on the Halloween action with its Trick or Treat Sale, which is maybe a little less thematically stratified than Steam’s Halloween Sale, but still well worth picking through. Not sure where to start? As always, I am here with a few suggestions:Do note that there’s quite a bit of crossover between GOG and Steam (they both have Painkiller Black on for $3, for instance, and if you still h

  • Corpse Party, “a grisly horror game set in a ghost-infested Japanese high school, with a branching story and lots of ways to end up dead,” officially came to PC a couple years ago. The follow-up, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows, went live on both platforms today, and it too sounds like a bewildering affair. “An anthology series that serves as a Corpse Party sequel, prequel, midquel, and alternate universe tale all in one, Corpse Party: Book of Shadows is a horror/adventure game developed by MAGES.

  • During yesterday’s Fallout 76 beta session, my character got the marsupial mutation at just the right time. This is when Fallout 76 started to click for me, and I realised I was enjoying myself. People personThe thing I miss the most in Fallout 76 is human NPCs. Without other humans, it feels a little too quiet, and I can’t really work out what Fallout 76 would’ve lost by having them around. So far, I miss the pretend people in Fallout 76, but I can’t complain about the place.

  • God Eater 3 will launch in on PC in February next year, publisher Namco Bandai has announced. The release date coincides with a new trailer for the sequel, which showcases a mixture of anime characters talking very seriously about very serious things, and blistering action sequences in which gigantic monsters are air-battered into mulch. I can’t say I’m thrilled by the former, but the latter looks pretty darned excellent, reminiscent of a Platinum game, if slightly cartoonier. God Eater 3 sees t

Unity showed off the potential results of this with a short video demonstrating the tech in action. In the demo, the player explores a gigantic cyberpunk city inside a flying car, weaving between endless rows of skyscrapers hundreds of feet high. According to Unity, this demo was created in two months by the ECS team, with help from just two artists. Unity also showed off a visual effects gra

  • Desert Bus is notoriously one of the most boring games of all time, and that, I suppose, is what’s so good about it. That’s what’s so good about it. Revenant Bus is a bit different. It’s basically the Desert Bus experience brought to Doom 2, but with one major twist: a revenant spawns in the back of the bus every seven seconds. Given the lack of weapons (you have to punch the revenants to death) and the 24 hour duration of the bus trip (you need to go back for your wallet), that’s a very monoton
