pcgamer wrote a new post, The Evil Within 2 adds new difficulty mode and enables cheats, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Excellent survival horror sequel The Evil Within 2 has added a new nightmarish difficulty mode and enabled cheats—but only if you have a Bethesda.net account. Anyone that signs up for an account, or links to an existing one, will get the Akumu difficulty level as well as access to cheats such as invincibility, one-shot kills and infinite stamina. I’m sure there are players that wanted more of a challenge, but I struggled with parts of the game even on the regular difficulty. I like the idea of e

Players are using a Black Ops 4 glitch that lets you stack the same perk multiple times to gain super speed in multiplayer matches—and Treyarch is cracking down on anyone exploiting it. Reddit user 90059JR uploaded the above clip of the glitch in action, and developer Treyarch later said it would resolve the issue in a coming update. Repeated offenders face permanent bans, the developer said in a Reddit post. In other Black Ops 4 news, some servers are now running at 60hz, following player compl

Last month we told you about one player’s quest to become the heaviest character in Scum, testing the limits of the simulationist survival game by chowing down on the undead. He might take the view that if there’s gonna be heart problems he might find another Reddit opportunity. There could be a Scum diet book. Imagine that: Scum Diet and Exercise Regime.” “There’s gonna be vehicles coming in the next update,” Struthers said.

Which game made you laugh the most? Let us know which game made you laugh the most in the comments below. Every dropped knife or misplaced whip can kill, and death is so fast and stupid in Spelunky it’s impossible not to laugh. It was also the first game that made me laugh out loud (hysterically, while choking on a packet of salt and vinegar crisps/chips, for what it’s worth). If it spent less time loading and if some of the actual moneymaking activities were less of a grind, I think it’d be my

Cyanide has released the launch trailer for its Lovecraftian horror RPG Call of Cthulhu ahead of the game’s arrival next week. It begins by showing Sarah Hawkins running through a spooky forest, slipping between dimensions, running from something terrible. As it will be in the game, you’re not quite sure what’s real and what isn’t. Later we meet detective Edward Pierce—that’s you—who is asked to investigate the deaths of Sarah and her family on an island off the coast of Boston. It’s the officia

“I look around the office and all I see are the tired pale faces of the Keeper team,” reads a rather chilling message found hidden within files for the MS-DOS version of 1997’s Dungeon Keeper. “This project has destroyed the health and social lives of each member, so I hope you like the game.” It was developed by Bullfrog Productions, which also made Populous and Theme Park, among other things. Murderous Pursuits, the PvP murder mystery game billed as the spiritual successor to cult classic The Ship, is free to keep forever if you download it on Steam before Monday. In Philippa’s review, she struggled to find a game that had a full count of humans, and the average concurrent player count hovered around 40 in the month following its launch in April. However, since the free-to-keep offer went live yesterday, the player count has ballooned—as I write this, 50,000 people are playing, accor

Nier: Automata’s android protagonist 2B will soon become part of Soulcalibur 6’s roster of fighters, Bandai Namco revealed today. You’ll automatically unlock 2B if you’ve bought the $29.99/£24.99 DLC season pass. Soulcalbur 6’s other DLC fighter, Tira, can be bought separately for $5.99/£3.99, so I’d expect the same to happen here. You can check out some more images of 2B by clicking on the tweet below. Tom praised Soulcalibur 6 in his review, calling it “a fighter with a great roster and exciti

The demo for World of Warcraft: Classic is due to launch next week—but one YouTuber has managed to sneak into its version of Azeroth early by using an emulator. The YouTuber, called Dodgy Kebaab, told Eurogamer that the demo client for the game had leaked on various Discord channels. But Dodgy Kebaab was able to run around the game world and make the video above comparing its visuals to those of vanilla World of Warcraft in 2005. You’ll also be able to hit a ‘Classic’ button to revert World of W

But have you ever looked at a steaming pile of dog turd and thought to yourself, ‘Wow, what a beautiful pile of shit!’? Probably not, but then again, someone at Antec at one point looked at the proposed design for its new open frame Torque computer case and said, ‘Wow, what a beautiful…chassis, make it happen!’ The consensus around these parts is that it’s interestingly unique, which is a nice way of saying it hurts our eyeballs. It’s far removed from cases like Antec’s P110 Luce or even the f

You’re able to jump between race formats so easily I can start to appreciate how different the cars feel. At one point during our first Lethal League Blaze session, James screamed for five seconds straight. Lethal League Blaze gets intense, is what I’m saying. I am not good at Lethal League Blaze, but it’s so satisfying on a visceral hitting-things-and-watching-shit-happen level that I don’t care when I lose. As you’d expect, the lethal league ball game is an illegal, underground sport, outlawed by The Man after someone died playing. ~Wise Old ManPlay Lethal League Blaze.

Loot-spilling cube monsters (yeah, the cube was zombies) arrived with the Fortnitemares update earlier this week, and hoo-boy, a lot of players are mad. Dissenting players argue that cube monsters, glider redeployment, and faster late-game storm circles have changed the meta completely, erasing comfortable, practiced strategies. They are bewildering, upsetting changes—the cube monsters in particular—but even more upsetting is that the monsters are getting shelved for the Fall Skirmish Grand Fina

pcgamer wrote a new post, The best western games that aren’t Red Dead Redemption 2, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
This is a world that features goblins and skeletons, so it’s probably not quite as true to the Old West as Red Dead is. And unlike most western games, which attempt to slavishly recreate 19th century guns, Stranger’s living ammo types are wildly creative. It’s at least a skill that’s highly underrepresented in western games. A Fistful of Doom (Doom II mod)A hefty reworking of Doom’s graphics sets the whole thing in western-themed maps, with saloons, lurking vultures, and looping reprises from th
