  • If there’s one thing the legions of Hell fear, it’s a priest with solid typing skills, at least in The Textorcist, a bullet hell game where reciting scripture is the only way to defeat projectile-spewing demons. It’s due out on February 14 because what says ‘love’ better than exorcising Satanic hordes? The exorcisms are apparently based on real ones, so you might also want to brush up on your Latin. The typing stuff would probably have come in handy, too, I guess. The Textorcist will be availabl

Prolific strategy publisher Paradox Interactive has purchased all the rights and assets for the Prison Architect IP from Introversion Software. One notable difference between Prison Architect and the rest of Paradox’s contemporary catalogue is the absence of DLC. Paradox Development Studio’s games typically receive the most, with Crusader Kings 2 boasting 15 expansions and more DLC beyond that. Cities: Skylines has more in common with Prison Architect and launched around the same time, and it ha

There are apparently some things Facebook isn’t OK with advertising on its platform, and that now includes an ad for a Gris, seen above, that was deemed “sexually suggestive”. Now, I don’t want to kink-shame Facebook employees or whatever algorithm determined this, but it’s hard to imagine what about the moon or a silhouette suggests that it’s time to get hot and sweaty. Facebook rejected a GRIS launch trailer ad for this ‘sexually suggestive’ scene so this year is going great so far. The ad doe

In Cultist Simulator, the goal is a bit more ambitious: start a cult and achieve immortality. A free update due out later this month has a very satisfying answer: become a god. I’ve ‘finished’ Cultist Simulator a few times, so a New Game+ mode sounds right up my street. And it’s shaping up to be a lot more novel than just playing the same game but harder. Thankfully, Chris made it his, pointing out how half the fun of Cultist Simulator is figuring out how it all works.

Tropico 6, originally due out this month, has been pushed back to March, so you’ll need to put your plans for a new banana republic on the back-burner. After running a closed beta last year, Kalypso and Limbic decided to delay launch to give them more time to implement feedback and polish up the management sim. And Tropico 6 is good, but not very good, or outstanding. The latter was one of the big things Kalypso and Limbic were touting when I previewed Tropico 6 for the magazine. “Ultimately, Tr

Final Fantasy 14’s A Requiem for Heroes update is out today, which can only mean one thing: it’s massive MMO patch notes time! I know that 4.5 is a rather meaty update, because I’m still scrolling through these patch notes right now. There are new main scenario quests, new job quests for the Blue Mage (due out next week when the job arrives), new crafting items, housing changes (new aquarium fish! Blue Mages are probably the most notable of the new additions, though they’re not set to appear unt

  • Hytale, an RPG from the designers of one of Minecraft’s most popular servers, looks a lot like its blocky inspiration, but there are some big differences under the hood. Like Minecraft, Hytale’s procedurally generated worlds are a mixture of typical sandbox biomes—forests, snow, lava—punctuated by dungeons and prefabricated buildings. And, of course, there’s a whole other world below your feet, full of labyrinthine caves with the possibility of treasure. Underwater areas have unique biomes and e

Happily, the Razer DeathAdder Elite is also reduced on Amazon UK. You can pick one up for £41.99, giving a saving of 40% from its original price.
