  • According to the most recent Bloomberg Billionares Index, that would be Epic Games founder and CEO Tim Sweeney. “Following the transaction, Sweeney’s stake in the business is calculated at 44.7 percent. • It won’t be long before the company launches its 7-nanometer Zen 2 lineup for the desktop—it recently showed off a 64-core Zen 2 server CPU—though in the meantime, it’s trotting out a new round of mobile Ryzen processors with Vega graphics. AMD doesn’t use that term anymore, but that’s essentially what these new Ryzen 3000 series mobile processors are. They’re intended for ultrathin laptops and gaming notebooks, the latter of which is where the Vega graphics come into play. AMD says new notebook

  • If it ever did, it would probably look like the new Asus ROG Mothership (GZ700), because that’s exactly what it reminds us of. Only the ROG Mothership is not a Surface Pro at all—it’s a desktop replacement laptop with some serious hardware inside. The ROG Mothership is all of those things—it measures 16.14 x 12.6 x 1.18 inches and weighs a hefty 10.36 pounds. Does it make sense to offer a gaming laptop in a detachable form factor? • Corsair came to CES this year armed with three new gaming mice, including a wireless model and a late 2018 update to its longstanding M65 Elite. The brand new mice are the Harpoon RGB Wireless ($50) and the Ironclaw RGB ($60). The Harpoon RGB Wireless uses Corsair’s “Slipstream wireless” tech, which it says works at up to 65 feet and can handle poor network congestion like a champ. Then there’s the M65 RGB Elite, which actually released late last year. The M65 RGB Elite is available on Corsair’s

  • It was at last year’s Consumer Electronics Show that Nvidia announced its 65-inch big format gaming display (BFGD) initiative, and at the time the company said these massive gaming monitors would be available in the summer. This time around, HP is signed up as a launch partner and will get things started with its Omen X Emperium 65. • The latest trailer for Anthem has appeared ahead of CES 2019, showing off lots of striking environments full of Javelins and monsters battering the snot out of each other. Not surprisingly for an Nvidia trailer, the focus is on eye candy, and crikey does Anthem look pretty. Anthem’s world, so far, looks not only gorgeous, but more tangible, too. There’s a new Javelin, as well, though we don’t yet know how it compares to the Ranger, Colossus, Storm or Interceptor. A demo for preorders and Origin

If you host a server, you can choose where the storm closes in on, as well as pick chest placement and player spawn locations. Instructions for how to do that, along with an installation file for the mod, can be found on its Nexus page. If you host, you can also choose exactly how many players you want to join a match. Creator suXin has now released what they call its “last major update”, which adds a random mod feature, Twitch integration, and a new nightmare dream sequence. If you turn random mods on, you’ll periodically activate one of the many tweaks that suXin has added during development. • We’re definitely prepared to see some crazy hardware combinations, maze-like liquid cooling, and mesmerizing RGB at CES next week. While it remains to be seen if either one will be formally shown or announced at CES, the hype surrounding the two leading into CES is palpable. We can hope we’ll get some answers at CES 2019 for either one of these cards. • You arrange them into teams of three and try to sync up their super attacks to cover the screen in explosions. Over the last couple of years I’ve really dived back into tabletop gaming, even selling my soul to Games Workshop. Nope, not a thing, other than it feels weird somehow to play a baseball game in winter. But this time I wanted to play in Safe Mode, which removes the threat of death from the game. The developer announced Hitman HD Enhanced Collection today, remastering the excellent Hitman: Blood Money and its disappointing sequel, Absolution. “Hitman: Blood Money and Hitman: Absolution have helped us on our journey to where we are today, and we’re looking forward to players enjoying them in 4K and 60 fps.”While it’s already possible to pla

  • The latest attempt, Unreal PT, remakes the demo from scratch and took developer Radius Gordello 10 months to create. It’s got that unmistakable Unreal game look, however, so it doesn’t quite look exactly like its inspiration, which was developed using the Fox Engine. “The biggest difference is the very end of the game has been changed slightly to make beating it more consistent.”While there are several P.T. remakes and homages on Itch.io, Konami has been known to shut them down. The publisher terminated its CFO, Spencer Neumann, early in the week, and now Blizzard’s CFO, Amrita Ahuja, is leaving for Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey’s mobile payment company, Square. 2018 wasn’t a stellar year for the company, which saw shares drop by 26 percent in 2018. • The Radeon RX 570 is one of AMD’s mid-range graphics cards, roughly between a GTX 1050 Ti and GTX 1060 in terms of performance. Now you can get Sapphire’s 4GB Nitro+ RX 570 for just $129.99 on Newegg. That’s about $20 cheaper than other RX 570 cards, and $70 cheaper than the typical price for a 3GB GTX 1060. This is a good graphics card for 1080p gaming, and it definitely can’t be beat for under $200. The RX 570 also comes with two free games—you can pick from The Division 2, Resident Evil 2, an

It’s hard to argue otherwise after his new YouTube channel Jablinksi Games amassed over 1 million subscribers in less than a week, and then more than doubled that number to over 2.1 million subscribers a few days later. “I am proud to announce the launch of my new channel, Jablinksi. None of the approved games belong to Tencent, the world’s largest games company, which has been hit hard by the freeze—its stock has fallen by around 25% since the start of the year. • Fortnite’s newest item is a boombox that destroys structures and, at first glance, it looks like it could have a huge impact on 1v1 firefights. To stop an enemy’s boombox, you just have to shoot it—but it has 600 health. It has a range of three tiles, will take more pulses to destroy metal than brick, and brick than wood, and does not deal any damage to players. I reckon it could have a huge impact on 1v1 firefights, especially between two players that like to build. A quick YouTube search for F
