The Fortnite Season 8 patch notes detail volcanic vents, cannons, and a pretty new UI, but this season’s most prominent new feature is Fortnite’s new ping system. A single ping that isn’t focused on an object spits out a location marker, marked by a blue arrow on the screen, also visible on the map. Problem is, items and weapons are currently the only objects the ping system will pick up. If you’re playing squads with voice comms off, the ping system will go a long way, but Apex Legends this ain

Ubisoft’s released a menacing Dark Zone trailer to whet our appetites before The Division 2’s open beta, which starts tomorrow. The Division ended up with a few neat features, but the Dark Zone’s the one that continues to stick with me. Washington DC has three Dark Zones, all of them able to host up to 12 players. Some loot will also be ‘clean’, meaning you can equip it straight away and use it while you’re in the Dark Zone. Participating in the open beta’s Dark Zone tutorial mission will net yo

In Unity of Command 2, the Western Allies and Axis are duking it out over Europe, with players taking control between 1942 and 1945. Units have proper models that fight on a map that’s full of details, both cosmetic and practical. Along with the new engine, Unity of Command 2 introduces some additional wrinkles and systems. There’s the HQ, for instance, which is a real location on the map that’s essential for organising and supplying your army, or the expanded ability to go behind enemy lines an

Warsaw is a 2D turn-based tactical RPG set during World War 2. Despite a very different setting, screenshots call to mind Darkest Dungeon, from the character art to how the game displays attacks. The management side sounds closer to something like This War of Mine, where the focus was survival and protecting your home, not fighting. But in Warsaw, it looks like there will be plenty of both. The enemy is lot better armed, so it probably won’t be a walk in the park.

Plague Inc., the strategy sim where you create and nurture a pathogen in an attempt to destroy all the pesky humans, is now getting an anti-vaxxer scenario thanks to a Change.org petition. Ndemic Creations noticed the petition last week, which wanted the developer to add anti-vaxxers as a buff. Instead of just adding a buff, Ndemic said it would add an anti-vaxxer scenario if the petition got to 10,000. https://t.co/fYq09awgJc pic.twitter.com/Sof0aJE0ywFebruary 26, 2019Plague Inc was ported to P

Just last week, we said that Blizzard needed to blow up the Overwatch meta. His Speed Song has had its power nerfed significantly: the overall speed boost effect reduced from 30 to 20 percent, and the Amp It Up effect reduced from 70 to 50 percent. Next up is the ever-present Zenyatta, who has been a near-constant fixture in professional and high-level Overwatch matches. Again, to compensate, his primary fire Orb of Destruction has increased in damage from 46 to 48 per shot. Overwatch Developer

The Grim Dawn expansion Forgotten Gods was announced in March 2018, with an expectation that it would be out sometime in the second half of that year. Forgotten Gods will take players into a great, scorching desert beyond the lands of the Erulan Empire, a place of “burning sands, lush oases and volcanic wastes,” and secrets best left buried. Grim Dawn, for those who haven’t yet had the opportunity to enjoy it, is an old-school action-RPG, stylistically similar to Diablo 2 but with deeper gamepla

I just started playing SNOW, a free-to-play open world winter sports game that left Early Access this month. There’s skiing and snowboarding on two different mountains, challenges and multiplayer, X-Game events, and other activities. Or, since they all have the same face, perhaps they are all the same balloon man. And oddly, the balloon man is not always a balloon man. What if they hold me down and inflate me and I become a balloon man too?

And in a statement released earlier this month, Capcom COO Haruhiro Tsujimoto spelled it out more explicitly: The PC is good. “Also, from the viewpoint of promoting digital strategy, expansion of PC platform spread can not be overlooked. The sales ratio of the PC version in our main title has been improved every year, and we will strive to further expand sales as an important platform.”
