  • GOG’s Fair Price Package programme is coming to an end, the digital distributor announced today. Some games are more expensive in other regions, but in those cases the price difference was then given out in store credit. On average, GOG gave customers 12 percent back, but it could go as high as 37 percent, it claims. Stopping the Fair Price Package will allow GOG to “offer better conditions to game creators”. It looks like The Sinking City, the Lovecraft-styled horror game of shadows, insanity, and bad shaves, will not make its scheduled release date of March 21. As noticed by OnlySP, the release date for the Day One console editions on Amazon is now listed as May 31, and more tellingly, Steam now says only that it will be out sometime in 2019. A reason for the cuts wasn’t provided, but one of the employees who was let go told Kotaku that staff were told it was “a financial decision.” “I mean, it’s just an odd situation, like things got really desperate really fast. I know that February was a really bad month, but January on the other hand was excellent,” the employee said. I’ve reached out to GOG for more information and will

  • Judged on cost alone, the GeForce GTX 1660 Ti is the clear choice—it’s around $70 cheaper. RTX vs GTXShakespeare once wrote “a rose by any other name would smell as sweet,” but even though both the RTX 2060 and GTX 1660 Ti are powered by Nvidia’s latest generation Turing GPU architecture, the RTX and GTX nomenclature matters. All GeForce RTX cards support real-time ray tracing and DLSS processing, whereas the GTX 1660 Ti lacks the necessary RT and Tensor cores for those things. That’s more of a

The game will give players a “vast” map to explore with terrain including deserts, plains, swamps, and mountains. That last bit sounds like it could be the most interesting aspect of Outlaws of the Old West, although neither the announcement nor the Steam page have much to say about it. The

After about 20 minutes, I figured I’d just close the game and wait for Foundation to leave Early Access with (hopefully) a proper tutorial to give me a clue. Deep Style is a neural network based on the Deep Dream thing that did the rounds a few years ago. Modder Jam2go took Deep Style and used it to replace every texture in Fallout: New Vegas after feeding it a wide-ranging catalogue of paintings, in styles from surrealist to post-modern. He previously did something similar to Skyrim with Deep Dream and that’s worth a watch too. Run through his mod (which you can download from Nexus Mods), New Vegas looks like someone ate a gallery and vomited on it.

Basically, if a room was shown on screen at any point in the eight movies, Onureth has included it. It’s probably one of the most accurate models of Hogwarts I’ve ever seen, and to make it in Planet Coaster must have been an immense challenge.
