But after spending a few hours squashing demons, spiders and warlocks in Pagan Online, my scepticism has been eased. I like that you’ll be able to jump into Pagan Online and make progress in the story even if you only have 20 minutes spare. The MOBA-inspired heroes are another way Pagan Online tries to stand out. Speaking of loot, you’ll be pleased to hear that Pagan Online has buckets of it spilling out of every enemy. I’m not fully sold on the ‘Online’ bit of Pagan Online yet.

Jump Force already has characters in it from Dragon Ball, Bleach, My Hero Academia, and Naruto, so why not Halo as well? That must be the thinking behind this mod, created by The Onifox, which makes Master Chief a playable fighter. The opening cinematic looks ridiculous but then, this is Jump Force—they always look ridiculous even when they don’t feature Master Chief standing around like an action figure from the wrong set. The voice lines were edited in for this video—sadly the original mod doe

Wii U emulator Cemu was able to run The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild shortly after the game’s release, but just being able to run something isn’t enough for modders. The most obvious difference is the removal of cel-shading, which is a divisive choice. I think it gives it more of a Twilight Princess look, but I did like the original style. The UI’s stretched to fit widescreen, but apparently that’s not a problem at most resolutions. If you want to have a look at some of the stranger thing

Enemies will need to be cleared from the route, decorations chosen, and music played. The parade will end with a burning of Old Man Winter in effigy, but the festivities will attract even more enemies. The more marching protectrons players protect, the more loot they’ll earn at the end of the event, including creepy masks like those in the screenshot above. Over on their blog Bethesd

The Epic Games Launcher store has a search function now. This may seem like the kind of thing you’d expect it to have right from the start, but as Sergey Galyonkin explained on Twitter, “We launched with three games, there was no need to enable search”. Now there are slightly more than three games on the Epic Launcher—though still not as many as its competitors, of course—and so it has a search function. Galyonkin adds that “Once we have more games, we’ll add more features, including pages”, as

Vignettes, one of my favorite mobile games, is now out on PC—and it’s a “reworked” version of the original with “numerous improvements and previously unreleased content”. It’s a very light puzzle game in which you rotate colorful objects, and as you pull them around they’ll change shape. For example, when you stand a fire hydrant on its end so that you can only see one color, it morphs into a garbage can. Rotate the garbage can at the right angle and it will transform into a curled-up cat. At $7

The developers of typing game/RPG hybrid Epistory have announced that the sequel, called Nanotale, will be out on PC in the second half of this year. You’ll take control of a novice archivist called Rosalind, who’s collecting plant samples and cataloging mysterious goings-on to try and saving a dying planet. Epistory, which came out in 2016, was very well-received, and has “overwhelmingly positive” user reviews on Steam, so I have high hopes for Nanotale. Hopefully that includes an adaptive diff

The first alpha for ambitious MMO Ashes of Creation, which has plans for huge cities and a player-led government, has been delayed past this summer, developer Intrepid Studios has announced. The team has not decided a new date for Alpha One, but the delay will last “months”, creative director Steven Sharif said. During that time, Intrepid will work on the game’s performance and netcode, testing of 200-player castle sieges, new animations and improved art. It follows a beta for Ashes of Creation

The latest patch for open-world survival game Scum adds new areas to the world map, including an extensive underground coal mine and 24 islands off the coast of the main island. Those new islands are bare for now, “but with time interesting things will pop up on them for you to find”, the dev team said in the patch notes. The underground portion of the coal mine is empty too, but the devs have said that it will be filled soon. The patch also adds the lever-action M1887 shotgun, which fires 12 ga

In the new trailer for Shenmue 3 we see protagonist Ryo Hazuki seek out a wise old master, who is having a drink in the woods, and persuade him to impart his wisdom. There’s a training montage and some combat, with a lot of kicking and sliding around to dodge. This is work in progress footage of course, shown at the Magic 2019 convention in France. It’s having the desired effect on fans, with a bunch of reaction videos already appearing on YouTube. If you’re a bit baffled by all this hype, maybe
