techradar wrote a new post, Have our brains just not evolved for social media?, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 6 months ago
More specifically, what if the reason social media seems to cause so many problems is that our brains just haven’t evolved to cope? “We’re whipping ahead with all this innovation, doing these amazing things, but the biological evolution hasn’t evolved and isn’t adapted to having a social relationships online. Theoretically though, if we used social media as a kind of a data store, couldn’t we evolve to increase this number? “Which is obviously not going to be attractive if you’re a social media

Photo credit: Josiah BondyEvery seemingly minor innovations in cars today puts us one step closer to smarter, more intelligent driving. On the new 2019 Lincoln Nautilus, one of those innovations has to do with the back-up camera. In May of this year, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration made it mandatory that all new cars have a back-up camera, which allows you to see any oncoming cars behind you that are not visible with only the rear-view camera. According to November’s numbers, Windows 10 was installed on 38.14% of PCs, while Windows 7 use dropped to 38.89%. However, Windows 7 remains the most-used desktop operating system, but if this trend continues, we could see Windows 10 finally over take it soon. Unloved EdgeWhile Windows 10 is growing its userbase, Edge, Microsoft’s web browser that comes preinstalled with Windows 10, continues to perform poorly, with the browser dropping to 4.22%. With more people using Windows 10 but fewer usin

techradar wrote a new post, Spotify may allow Android users to import songs from their phone, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 6 months ago
Spotify is reportedly testing a new feature for its music streaming app on Android devices – one that would allow users to import songs from their phone or tablet. While Spotify boasts an expansive library of songs – over 30 million – you won’t find everything there. The change would mean users can source the gaps in the catalogue from elsewhere, say, by buying a little-known indie album from the band’s own website. You could then upload the tracks into Spotify instead of having to play them thr

techradar wrote a new post, Samsung could borrow an idea from Huawei for future phone cameras, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 6 months ago
It’s an idea that Samsung could soon be borrowing. The key factor seems to be that the monochrome lens captures most of the detail and is then combined with the same image shot on the color lens to add color. Images from the camera patent. A monochrome lens though seems a lot more realistic, especially given that Huawei is already doing it. A number of Samsung phones already have multiple camera lenses too, but currently none of them are monochrome.

techradar wrote a new post, Nvidia Titan RTX shows up online, could be coming soon, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 6 months ago
Nvidia is teasing the release of its Titan RTX graphics card – which will doubtless be a powerhouse of a GPU – in a series of leaks spilled on social media. As spotted by PC Gamer, the card turned up in an image tweeted by Andrew Ng, the co-founder of Coursera, nestling inside a PC he was trying out some ‘new hardware’ in. If that’s not evidence enough, during a Linus Tech Tips video, the box of the Titan RTX was ‘accidentally’ pulled out and shown off. Naturally, we are expecting a graphics car

techradar wrote a new post, Sony may be working on a transparent, foldable smartphone, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 6 months ago
Sony may be working on some rather remarkable smartphone concepts according to a recently published patent application. The documentation in question appears to show plans for a ‘dual-sided transparent smartphone’, as well as a ‘foldable transparent smartphone’, which would see many a sci-fi dream potentially become reality. It also includes a sketch for what appears to be a rollable smartphone display – so in short, Sony has a lot of ideas it’s currently playing with. Foldable, rollable and see

2019 could be the year of the pinhole phone camera, by which we mean a circular cut-out for a camera in the screen. This teaser leaves no doubt that the Nova 4 has a pinhole camera. It’s worth noting though that it’s not yet clear whether you’ll be able to buy the Huawei Nova 4 outside China. But if not and you have your heart set on a phone with a pinhole camera you shouldn’t have too much longer to wait. And there’s a chance that the Samsung Galaxy S10 – a flagship phone likely to get a global

It seems the big tech companies are ready to start being a little friendlier to each other as the holiday season approaches – Apple is flicking the switch to enable Apple Music on Amazon Echo devices, and now Amazon Music is coming to Android TV as well. This is the basic Amazon Music service that’s provided as part of an Amazon Prime subscription, not the Amazon Music Unlimited service that costs more, has a bigger song selection, and is a genuine rival to the likes of Spotify. It posts reviews of restaurants too, with write-ups just a couple of paragraphs long to keep things snappy. Should you use Yelp, Zomato or TripAdvisor? YelpDownload: iOS / AndroidThe major alternative to TripAdvisor, Yelp focuses on locals looking for places to go rather than travelers. This isn’t quite the best app to get the nitty-gritty on restaurants, though.

It looks like the writing could be on the wall for Google Hangouts… again. That won’t come as much of a surprise to those who’ve been watching the development of Hangouts closely – Google has largely given up on Hangouts as a messaging tool for the masses. It certainly fared much better than Google Allo, which was built primarily to replace Hangouts. In an attempt to build something approaching an iMessage competitor, Google is backing the RCS or Rich Communication Services standard. Hangouts

And, you guessed it, the workouts only take seven minutes. The obvious question: why seven minutes? After all, seven minutes may not sound like a lot, but it feels like a lot longer when your heart rate is at 80% of its maximum rate. They’re the trendy alternative to dumbbells, with kettlebell exercises working a wider array of muscle groups than traditional weight maneuvers. The Kettlebell app lets you choose the length of your workout to the minute, and which muscle groups to include.
