(Image credit: GungHo)If you’ve been waiting for the Grandia 1 and 2 HD Remasters to hit PC, you might have wondered why they’ve been a no show on Steam, despite releasing on Nintendo Switch last month. “Since the release of the Grandia HD Collection on the Nintendo Switch, we have been closely following your feedback and comments across all of our available channels of communication,” publisher GungHo wrote on Twitter. “While we continue to concentrate on creating the best experience for our au

(Image credit: Activision)Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is getting a sizeable update soon, and it does away with Blackout’s zombie apocalypse theme while adding tanks and a new vehicle-centric game mode. The new tank is exclusive to ‘Heavy Metal Heroes’ and supports two passengers, a driver and a gunner. Meanwhile the flare gun calls in aircraft to deliver vehicles, while two weapons from Zombies have been added to Blackout: the Savage Impaler and Winter’s Fury. The Zombies mode is getting a new per

Unfortunately, optional updates get clumped together with mandatory ones, but that’s finally going to change—albeit not until next year. “As some Insiders have noticed, we’re working on making it easier for you to see all optional updates (including drivers, feature updates, and monthly non-security quality updates) in one place. Once optional updates are detected, they will be listed in a new page under Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > View optional updates. The Windows Update sc

(Image credit: Mojang)Mojang announced last week that it will take a vote on which of three Minecraft biomes will get major new upgrades first. The vote, which takes place on September 28 to coincide with MineCon Live, pits the Swamp, Mountains and Badlands biomes against one another. As of today, we know a bit about what the Badlands update will entail. In a short video uploaded to Instagram, the studio summed it up:Badlands? Of course, these are pretty scant details in a very short video.

Code Vein, Bandai Namco’s vampire ARPG, is out in a few days, and some of you might be able to get your hands on a copy by giving up some of the blood that you aren’t using—you’ve got loads—to an extremely good cause. While this sounds like a ploy to feed a hungry vampire population, it’s really a blood drive for the American Red Cross. On September 27th, celebrate the #CODEVEIN launch by donating blood to those in need. Follow the link to pre-register and learn more about our Blood Drive during

Tenderfoot Tactics is a tactical RPG full of magical goblins trying to outrun the end of the world. Who among us hasn’t openly wept when a point blank shot inexplicably misses an alien in XCOM? There’s none of that in Tenderfoot Tactics. Fights play out on a turn-based grid, but outside of combat you can explore the pretty, low-poly open world. The Foreverlands will introduce the world of Tenderfoot, as well as letting you check out the first seven classes.

It’s formatted like a 16-bit JRPG, meaning you’ll walk around a world from a top-down perspective, chatting to locals and occasionally getting into battles. But every other aspect of JRPGs has been ditched: there are no stats, no items, no levelling, no spells. The strange disco underworld, the colourful characters and the font reminded me of Undertale, while the banging soundtrack, and general musicality evoked Crypt of the Necrodancer. It’s a great combination, and hopefully we get to play an

The Twitter account of WB Games Montréal, developers of Arkham Origins, contributed with a mysterious tweet. Since Rocksteady seem to be done with the series I’d be happy for WB Montréal to pick up the torch. (As a further PSA for Bat-fans, the version of Arkham Knight being given away by Epic has been updated and now includes the season pass . I just fired it up and, sure enough, extra story missions are all there as well as additional costumes and such. Apparently Lego Batman 3 has all its DLC

As part of an art test for an application to Mojang, Sullivan was asked to “reimagine the look/style of Minecraft for a hypothetical new game.” As Sullivan points out in another tweet, the core task in Minecraft is gathering resources which suits the real-time strategy genre easily. Resource gathering is one of the main mechanics of any RTS – and what just happens to be the core gameplay of Minecraft? Chop chop chop! We won’t count our creepers before they’re hatched, but we can wish Sullivan be

Small towns are all full of drama and despite being hit by a meteor 100 years ago, it seems that Mutazione, the town that used to be a resort, is no different. You’ll play as 15-year-old Kai who’s moved to town to take care of her sick grandfather. While tending to him and his garden, Kai engages in other small-town activities like BBQs and band nights where she deals with all the local gossip. From its trailer, Mutazione appears to play a bit like an adventure game: walking around talking to di

The next game from Night School Studio, the developer of creepy adventure game Oxenfree, looks just as spooky as that game, but possibly funnier. Best friends Milo and Lola will try different drinks with buffs that lead to different dialogue options. Afterparty will feature an “intelligent conversation system that changes the story and your relationships based on every decision,” its Epic Store page says. Afterparty now has an appropriately spooky, Halloween-week release date of October 29. Corr

Earlier this month, World of Warcraft Classic servers were hit with a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack that made reliably accessing its servers a struggle for many players across North America. And now, a Blizzard community manager followed up to say that after a brief investigation a suspect has been arrested. “It is our understanding that, within a few days, authorities were able to successfully identify and arrest a suspect.” Though it seems likely, Blizzard did not confirm whether

Neo Cab is a stylish cyberpunk game about Lina, a human cab driver—possibly the last—living and working in the AI-controlled city of Los Ojos. “What are the merits of personal, human service and why are sterile, automated interactions often presented as a core part of utopia? In Neo Cab, Lina is one of the last human drivers, and so those who get into her cab are in need of the human touch,” creative lead Patrick Ewing said. Others might prefer that automated utopia, and see Lina as just another

Diving Bell was designed as a new discovery tool for Steam, similar to the Interactive Recommender but with an “entirely opposite” approach. Instead of coming up with recommendations based on your Steam history, it begins with a game you specify and then uses “dumb algorithms” to come up with a group of recommended games based on preset criteria. Valve worked with Doucet to bring Diving Bell to Steam as Deep Dive, which has a similar layout but “now directly leverages Steam APIs to serve up reco

It’s a mystery point-and-click comedy adventure about a city full of awkward cartoon alligators. It’s produced by visual novel studio Pillow Fight and animation team SmallBü, creators of the endearing, enduring and utterly nonsensical Baman Piderman series on YouTube. Sometimes all you need is a giggle, and from what I’ve seen of the game (especially anxious and awkward protagonist Pat), this one seems to deliver. I’m not even sure if the game has puzzles, per se, or just excuses to goof around
