pcgamer wrote a new post, Team Fortress 2’s Halloween 2019 event is live, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 3 months ago
I used to reinstall Team Fortress 2 every year for Halloween, dressing up in seasonal cosmetics to fight giant enemies like the Horseless Headless Horsemann, Monoculus, and Merasmus, or to just drive around in karts. Those events continue, and Scream Fortress 11 is live right now. As is the case in recent years it’s more of a showcase for player-made creations, with two community maps and a host of community-created cosmetics. Those maps are a king of the hill map called Laughter, and a payload

pcgamer wrote a new post, Mortal Kombat 11 has three spooky new skins, is about to get a Halloween event, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 3 months ago
It’s the spooky month and every game’s racing to get its Halloween content in front of our faces. For mortal Kombat 11 it’s the Masquerade Skin Pack, a collection of three new looks for Jade, Liu Kang, and Kabal. Jade’s skin is the Wicked Witch, which makes her as green and witchy as you’d expect. Starting October 25 there’s going to be a Halloween event as well, adding four boss fights with modifiers like flying witches, bats, black cats, falling pumpkins, and gravestones popping out of the gro

pcgamer wrote a new post, The Razer Blade 15 laptop gets a light update with an optical keyboard, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 3 months ago
The optical laptop keyboard is based on same design as Razer’s standalone Hunstman Elite optical keyboards. Unlike traditional mechanical keyboard switches, optical ones register keystrokes when disrupting the path of an infrared light beam inside the assembly. These keys also offer 50 percent more travel, Razer says, which is presumably comparing the optical keyboard to non-optical Blade 15 laptops. It remains to be seen exactly how tactile these low profile keys truly are (I haven’t played aro

pcgamer wrote a new post, AMD’s Radeon RX 5700 graphics card is $290 for today only ($60 off), on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 3 months ago
(Image credit: XFX)The Radeon RX 5700 is one of AMD’s best graphics cards, more powerful than the Vega 64 and Nvidia’s RTX 2060. It originally went on sale earlier this year for $350, but now you can grab a reference design model for just $289.99. The version on sale is an AMD reference card, meaning there’s no factory overclock, no custom cooler, and so on. Don’t be worried, though—our review of the card found that it still out-performed the RTX 2060 and AMD’s own Vega 64. It’s a great graphics

pcgamer wrote a new post, Devolver wants the Steam vs. Epic conversation to be ‘reset’, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 3 months ago
Conversations about Steam and the Epic Games Store can get a little heated. Speaking to Gamespot, Devolver Digital co-founder Graeme Struthers called for that conversation to be “reset,” saying that it “never really took place properly in my opinion.” And while Steam’s 70/30 revenue split might seem out of wack now (Epic offers 88/12), Struthers said it was “transformative” at the time. Steam has invested I don’t know how many hundreds of millions of dollars in their platform; Epic have yet to d

NZXT is no stranger to collaborative designs, like its PUBG-themed H700 and a licensed Overwatch edition of the H500. It’s latest effort in the themed category is the H510i Phantom Gaming. Being an “i” variant, it comes with a smart lighting and fan controller. For storage, the case offers 2+1 SSD (2.5-inch) drive bays and 2+1 HDD (3.5-inch) drive bays. The H510i Phantom Gaming case is available now for $109.99.

(Image credit: YouTube: Hearthstone tournaments)Last week, a player from American University’s collegiate Hearthstone team held up a sign reading “Free Hong Kong, Boycott Blizz” during a match. The gesture was intended to express support for protesters in Hong Kong and, more specifically, Hearthstone Grandmaster Chung ‘blitzchung’ Ng Wai, who was harshly punished by Blizzard for his own call to “liberate Hong Kong” from China during a post-match interview. Happy to announce the AU Hearthstone te

But things took an unexpected twist when, shortly after our post went live, Paradox took down the beta, which had been soft-launched in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Sweden. The problem, Paradox said in a tweet, was that at least one piece of artwork in the game “was taken from another source.” Paradox—which is publishing but not developing the game, Stellaris: Galaxy Command is being made by mobile studio GameBear—apologized and took the game offline “to perform a full content sweep and e

pcgamer wrote a new post, Fortnite Chapter 2: Letter ‘F’ location, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 3 months ago
Where is Fortnite’s hidden letter F? As part of Chapter 2’s first week of missions, players are tasked with locating the letter F, hidden somewhere on the New World loading screen players are rewarded with for completing eight New World challenges. And new means unfamiliar, so it’s going to be a little more time-consuming than usual to find every hidden letter on your own. Anyway, here’s where to find that damn F.(Image credit: Epic Games)It’s just east of Lazy Lake on a hill bordering the town.

(Image credit: Rare)Halloween has come to Sea of Thieves in a major October update that sees Old Boot Fort overrun by sinister Shadow of Fate Skeletons. Unlike conventional skeleton fort battles that take place when a giant skull cloud appears over one of several possible fort locations, the new Fort of the Damned can be activated at any time as long as the requirements are met. And while Halloween is a fleeting thing, the new fort fight is a permanent addition to the game. My quest began with a

Pop superstar Lady Gaga suddenly has some questions about Fortnite, and has tagged its biggest streamer, Tyler “Ninja” Blevins. But the smarter bet is that she’s teasing some kind of in-game appearance or other crossover event

Zombie Army 4: Dead War is a Sniper Elite spin-off for the impatient, letting you mow down hordes of Nazi zombies. It’s not just Nazis, either—it looks like there’s also huge undead sharks to worry about, as well as zombie tanks. Ostensibly a co-op romp with shades of Left 4 Dead, you can still play Zombie Army 4 on your lonesome if you’re not in the sharing mood. Samuel checked out the singleplayer back in June, so give his Zombie Army 4 impressions a read. Zombie Army 4: Dead War is due out on

(Image credit: Corsair)Corsair has expanded its range of compact desktops to include three new models, the Corsair One i145 and i164, and Corsair One Pro i182. Each one is powered by a liquid-cooled 9th generation Intel Core processor and Nvidia GeForce RTX graphics, housed in the familiar 12-liter chassis Corsair has been using since it introduced its One series in 2017. We were not as enamored by the One Pro i180, particularly for the price. On the top end, the new One Pro i182 model is descri

Step 3: ProfitAs Ehroar shows in the video, the effect of mods like Breach Refractor and Ballistic Combo do stack when you have two copies applied in the same piece of armour. I played some Spellbreak earlier in the year: it’s an upcoming battle royale from developer Proletariat that ditches the guns and grenades in favor of mages armed with magic spells. Spells also include electric blasts, toxic fumes, ice magic, and wind powers that let you summon tornadoes, and many of these powers can be combined with each other. We once speculated what a Marvel battle royale would be like, and Spellbreak is the next best thing. With all the powers on display, it really makes you

Age of EmpiresLike the game itself, Age of Empire’s installer strives to create a sense of industry, even as I pick a drive directory. It’s as if a nascent civilisation was travelling through the wires of my machine, clearing space for a truly important game. Would sir care to play an arcade game while his adventure game is copying files? As the files copy, each worm detonates
