pcgamer wrote a new post, Overwatch 2 is definitely an expansion rather than a sequel, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 2 months ago
Overwatch 2 is not a sequel to Overwatch in the traditional sense, but rather expands on the entire canon. All existing maps in Overwatch will be available in Overwatch 2, but there’s no information on what heroes will be available for what maps at this time. There wasn’t anything to show off for Hero mode, as Overwatch 2 is still very much in development, but it definitely seems Blizzard is spicing up its character abilities—like, Carolina Reaper spicy. “She has a long and interesting relations

pcgamer wrote a new post, Here’s how Diablo 4’s shared world works, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 2 months ago
While you can solo the game, you can’t do so without seeing other players in towns and around the open world. Here are a bunch of details about the workings of that world, difficulty levels, and dungeons that came out of my brief interview with the duo:Because the open world is shared, there are no game-wide difficulty levels. It’s only in the open world where you’ll encounter the public. World events will call players together to fight as a group, but there’s no word on specific player counts f

pcgamer wrote a new post, It sure sounds like StarCraft 2’s devs would like to make StarCraft 3, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 2 months ago
Speaking to StarCraft 2 production director Tim Morton and lead co-op designer Kevin Dong at BlizzCon earlier today, I had to ask: Are you making StarCraft 3? Morton’s answer didn’t suggest that StarCraft 3 is secretly in production—though he could have an excellent poker face—but did suggest that he’d very much like to build it. “Ultimately, the team that works on StarCraft 2 is incredibly passionate about real-time strategy as a genre,” said Morton. “I actually think there’s a great opportunit

BlizzCon 2019 opened on a somber note yesterday when president J. Allen Brack walked on stage to address the controversy surrounding Blizzard’s heavily-criticized decision to ban a Hearthstone player and two Taiwanese casters. Despite that stated commitment, Brack did not address Blizzard’s decision to ban Ng Wai and the two Taiwanese casters. Are you going to be repealing the punishment against Blitzchung and the two Taiwanese casters involved in this incident? That is a NetEase decision, they

pcgamer wrote a new post, Watch 10 minutes of Hearthstone’s new Battlegrounds mode, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 2 months ago
As a surprise addition to the reveal of Hearthstone’s next expansion, Descent of Dragons, Blizzard announced an entirely new mode, launching in beta very soon. It’s called Battlegrounds, and it’s an eight-player showdown inspired by the autobattler genre that started earlier this year with Dota Auto Chess. Above is a full 10-minute match of Battlegrounds from Blizzard’s press site. The player’s champion is Ragnaros the Firelord, and the footage takes us through how a typical Battlegrounds match

pcgamer wrote a new post, See almost two hours of Overwatch 2 gameplay, PvP and PvE, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 2 months ago
One of several big announcements from BlizzCon 2019 so far is the reveal of Overwatch 2, which we’ve been told will apparently keep all of the original game’s heroes, maps, modes and yes, even your skins, while adding PvE story missions, a new mode called Push, and some more heroes. BlizzCon attendees were told that Overwatch 2 would be playable right there at the show, and here’s proof: Almost two hours of gameplay footage courtesy of YouTuber ohnickel. According to an interview lead designer and writer Robert Kurvitz had with Escapist Magazine, he’s also written a novel in the same setting. Kurvitz has other plans for Disco Elysium in the future, and is apparently planning both an expansion of some kind as well as a sequel. “We have an insanely ambitious list of projects we want to make in the Elysium setting,” Kurvitz said. The working title for the tabletop setting is You Are Vapor. It will be a really, really, crazy pen-and-paper game.”

Lenovo is giving us a sneak peek at the kind of sales we should expect over Black Friday with a special weekend sale. This week’s cheap gaming desktop deal is a Legion T730 with Nvidia RTX 2070. This model of the T730 (90JF00B0US) goes for $2,369.99, usually, but Lenovo is slicing the price down to $1,649, courtesy of coupon code: BFCM31. That’s a $720 saving for a powerful gaming desktop that’s pretty future-proof. With what you save, you can easily splurge on a pair of killer gaming headsets,

It looks like Blizzard has opened up its roster of heroes in Heroes of the Storm, letting you play every single one of them for free, but just this week. Though it’s still being supported and updated, Heroes of the Storm lost several developers over the last year and generally seems to have been pushed off to the side. Aside from Smite, it’s the only MOBA I’ve ever really been able to get into, though I’ve not played in ages. With all these free heroes, it’s probably worth a revisit. With BlizzC

pcgamer wrote a new post, This Dell G3 15 laptop with a GTX 1660 Ti is just $860 right now, on the site GoGame.com 6 years, 2 months ago
There are quite a few variants of Dell’s G3 15 gaming laptop, but one budget version is on sale now for $859.99 from the company’s online store. That’s $290 off the original price, and you still get a portable rig capable of playing just about any game you throw at it. It’s a bit disappointing that this laptop uses the ‘Max-Q’ variant of the GTX 1660 Ti graphics card, meaning performance isn’t quite as good as the regular laptop and desktop equivalents. If this isn’t quite for you, there should

When AMD introduced its Radeon RX 5500 series graphics cards last month, it made no overt mention of a 5500 XT model, only that the 5500 series would be offered with 4GB and 8GB of GDDR6 memory. Now it’s looking like the 5500 will bear 4GB, and an unannounced 5500 XT will be the one with 8GB. Unless Gigabyte is suddenly changing up how it labels its card, this points to a factory overclocked Radeon RX 5500 XT OC model with 8GB of memory. As spotted by PCGamesN last week, there’s a separate EEC l

(Image credit: Bungie)Xenophage is a sweet-looking exotic machine gun in Destiny 2 that dropped earlier this week. But players have noticed that despite its ability to mow through trash mobs, the actual damage is relatively lacklustre, and outperformed by most power weapons in the game. There’s a good video explaining the issues here, but the players swiftly decided the gun couldn’t be working like it was meant to. The Hive stripped him of his Light, but his mind and soul ended up inside a creep

(Image credit: Bethesda)Rage 2 is getting its second expansion on November 14 in the form of Terrormania. As the name implies, things get terrifying: the wasteland has transformed into a “twisted and cursed alternate reality” and there are skeletons everywhere. So it’s lucky that Terrormania introduces a new weapon in the form of the Sword of Transitus. It’s an “ancient relic of unspeakable power” with which you’ll murder, or smash apart, the aforementioned skeletons. The base expansion will cos

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been criticised for a mission inspired by a Gulf War massacre that flips the perpetrator from America to Russia. Though it’s set in the fictional country of Urzikstan, Modern Warfare draws from real scenarios and events to create its missions, with notable parallels with the ongoing Syrian Civil War and the Gulf War. Kurosaki defends the mission by noting the location in the game already had the name before the mission takes place, so the Russian attack that take
