pcgamer wrote a new post, CS:GO’s UI update is a needed upgrade, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
This was one of our big wishlist items for CS:GO in 2018, and I’m happy to report that it’s pretty darn good. Admittedly, the bar has been set pretty low for Panorama, as the existing CS:GO interface is nothing to write home about. Fortunately, those days appear to be behind us, as the Panorama update is a complete overhaul that replaces virtually every UI asset. Surely there are more fruitful bits of information this screen real estate could be used for in CS:GO. It’s a breath of fresh air to s

pcgamer wrote a new post, Bethesda says Fallout 76’s nukes are hard to get and easy to avoid, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Fallout 76’s futuristic West Virginia is littered with nuclear missiles that players can use however they see fit. To some, that sounds like a humorous bit of chaos, but many Fallout fans are worried about what those nukes could do to their experience. In a recent interview with Swedish games site FZ, Bethesda marketing VP Pete Hines addressed these and other fears regarding player-controlled nukes. It’s reassuring that when another player does launch a nuke, you’re given time to evacuate the ta

pcgamer wrote a new post, Find easy Fortnite Battle Stars between a bear, crater, and refrigerator shipment, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
With Fortnite Season 5 just a few weeks away, the time to finish any remaining challenges is nearly up. Week 8’s challenges ask you to search between a bear, crater, and a refrigerator shipment to find some Battle Stars, and while you can feel free to wander around on your own, we’ve already found out exactly where to go. It’s just southeast of Retail Row on a small patch of dirt. I recommend landing at the house south of the marked location to pick up a weapon in case anyone tries to get the ju

pcgamer wrote a new post, Overwatch League All-Star Game starting lineups revealed, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
For me, all-star games are fun to watch because they enable a break from much of the hyper-competitive seriousness that permeates pro sports: You’d never see Larry Walker turn his helmet around to face Randy Johnson, for instance, or watch Patrick Kane and John Scott not-fight following a goal in a “real” game. I hope to see something similar happen in the Overwatch League All-Star Game, which will feature the league’s top players doing their thing in a two-day special event set for August. 12 p

Those who like (tabletop) adventure games and card games will be interested. We’ll see if it’s in competition for the best of solo board games list when we get our hands on a copy. Definitely my candidate for most surprising game of show, cooperative card game The Mind may just be my new favorite “number

With shotgun damage and resources from harvesting down, the intent was to diversify winning strategies that don’t boil down to endlessly build-battle and double-pump. “It’s important to support a variety of late game strategies, that don’t boil down to ‘just build lol’. The gamer-centric chat software Discord displays in its user list the games your friends and channel-mates are playing. It’s a handy way to tell what your pals are up to but not a terribly efficient system, especially if you have a lot of friends or haunt multiple servers. To address that shortcoming, Discord has added a new “Games Tab” function that enables users to more easily see what’s going on, and to join in on the action. Games Tab is basically a hub that pulls all game-specific informati

In a 5-4 decision, the Supreme Court on Thursday overturned a 1992 Supreme Court ruling that prevented states from collecting sales tax from online vendors if they did not have a “brick and mortar” location in that particular state, CNET reports. Up until today’s ruling, online vendors without a physical presence in a state, such as an office or a warehouse, were not required to pay any sales tax when a resident bought something. Typically states would focus their efforts on online vendors and n

The European Union has passed an initial vote in favour of the Copyright Directive, a legislation experts say “threatens the internet”. As reported by Wired, the mandate is designed to update internet copyright law but contains two controversial clauses. Despite passing a vote yesterday—held by the EU’s Legal Affairs Committee (JURI)—the directive needs parliamentary approval before becoming law. To this end, the Copyright Directive primarily aims to prevent music, video and online streams from
