pcgamer wrote a new post, Thermaltake tweaks its wall-mountable case for better cooling, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Now there is yet another version of this case available, the Core P5 Tempered Glass T1. Either way, I can say I’d be more confident building a PC inside the Core P5 TG T1 than its predecessor. Cooling aside, the Core P5 TG T1 offers three placement options—on the wall, standing vertically, or laying down horizontally. Thermaltake didn’t say how much the Core P5 TG T1 will cost, though over at Newegg, there’s a third-party seller that has it listed for $169.99. As a points of reference, the origi

pcgamer wrote a new post, There might be a big drop in graphics card prices next month, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
It’s only on rare occasions that we recommend waiting to upgrade your PC if you’re currently in need of a performance boost. That depends in part on whether big price drops are coming, as is currently rumored. However, Digitimes claims to have heard from sources within the upstream supply chain that suppliers are planning to axe graphics card pricing to clear out existing inventories. The sources Digitimes spoke with expect to see an average price drop of around 20 percent. Assuming those price

pcgamer wrote a new post, Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night story trailer teases in-game footage, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Despite the fact I cannot believe it’s been over three years, the PCGamer.com archive assures me Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night was revealed in May, 2015. It’s since enjoyed a pretty successful Kickstarter, a couple of E3 showings, a delay, and a Stretch Goal 8-bit spin-off. And despite being a story trailer, the following short contains 40-odd seconds of in-game footage. More on that, and the state of Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night today lives here. But here’s Chris Schilling’s lovely Blo

Warner Bros has hit back at Bethesda’s suggestion mobile game Westworld borrowed code from Fallout Shelter. As reported by Andy last week, Bethesda sued the publisher after alleging Westworld contains the same bugs as its own free-to-play simulation game. Speaking to gamesindustry.biz, Warner says it has a “deep respect for intellectual property rights”, and that Bethesda’s claims Westworld used source code from Fallout Shelter are “as surprising as they are unsubstantiated.” “Warner Bros. has b

Speaking at the Business Conference for Games Industry event in Russia this week, Valve’s Jan-Peter Ewert said the company is “not the taste police” with regards to opportunities on Steam. Ewert’s slideshow presentation, relayed by HeroCraft’s Michael Kuzmin, was delivered to a room of indie developers and discussed the perceived benefits of signing up to Steam. As shown below, Ewert said Steam launched five games per week pre-Steam Greenlight, 70 games per week during the Greenlight programme (

Valve’s business development head Jan-Peter Ewert says Steam had 13.5 million “new first-time purchasers” in the first few months of 2018. Ewert suggested Steam’s increase in supported payment methods is designed to benefit developers, and that this figure has risen from 40 in 2014 to over 80 methods this year. Outlined by indie developer Michael Kuzmin—who also quizzed Ewert about Steam Spy and Valve’s potential alternative plans—Ewert said Steam’s peak concurrent user total sat between five an

But encountering Fort Frolic would be nowhere near as satisfying without the verdant lead-in of the player’s exploits in the overgrown botanical environment of BioShock’s fifth level, Arcadia. In Arcadia, players must steer luckless lead character, Jack, through Rapture’s principal arboreal leisure and agricultural hub—its lungs ‘n’ larder if you like. Arcadia is thus able to make an immediate impact on players simply by switching up the colour palette. The ambush actually shares a scripting sys

CD Projekt Red has added to its frame by frame breakdown of Cyberpunk 2077’s E3 trailer. “In Night City, people want to dream big. “The social ladder concept can be seen in every aspect of life in Night City. “On one hand, poverty and homelessness are real problems in Night City. The demand for extremes also opens up an entirely new range of products you can find on the Night City black market.”

pcgamer wrote a new post, Wrecking Ball is Overwatch’s most inventive hero to date, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
Overwatch ’s new tank hero, Wrecking Ball, is an adorable hamster that pilots a giant round mech. You can read the full list of his abilities here , but the one that defines him is the grappling hook, bound to right click. When you’re swinging in wrecking ball form, you’ll knock back and damage any enemies you hit, which could keep them off certain control points, like the one on the Garden section of Oasis. Mobility is Wrecking Ball’s calling card, which means he’s countered by heroes that can

It’s no secret that Mass Effect: Andromeda failed to satisfy the series’ fanbase, but was it that bad? Wondering whether Andromeda got “a fair shake”, Darrah admitted first that “[it’s] a deeply flawed game. Each does something better than MEA (again, a flawed game). While this score difference may seem insignificant, it’s enough to affect sales, though Darrah admits that word of mouth “matters so much these days”. Interestingly, Darrah claims that Dragon Age: Inquisition benefitted by how other

On the one hand, it contains “three new patriotic melee weapons”, while on the other, some zombies will be dressed in Revolutionary War garb. But the biggest changes are coming to the Eater of Worlds and Spire of Stars raid lairs, both of which will get Prestige versions when the update arrives. Prestige raid lairs will rotate through three activity modifiers when the update goes live: one that’s been around for awhile—Prism—and two that are brand new, “built from the ground up by the raid team.” The Prestige Leviathan raid will stay as it is now, and the raid lair encounters will not be changed for Prestige. “When we originally creat

Kyle Killen, creator of the Awake television series, will serve as executive producer, writer, and showrunner, while Rise of the Planet of the Apes director Rupert Wyatt is signed to direct multiple episodes. “Halo is our most ambitious series ever,” Showtime CEO David

pcgamer wrote a new post, Battlefield 5 improves on Battlefield 1, but it might make you pine for the original, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 4 months ago
As I played the closed alpha today, I kept forgetting that Battlefield 5 is a World War 2 game. The UI is sleek, and the guns are effortless to use—they aren’t as janky as Battlefield 1’s period rifles, firing rapidly and precisely. It made me feel nostalgic for the beats of the M1 Garand from Battlefield 1942. I do like quite a bit about BF5 so far, at least as compared to Battlefield 1. Going up against supersoldiers wasn’t fun.

If your memories of the original MapleStory are anything like mine, you’re probably wondering how you could pull off battle royale in a 2D action RPG. See for yourself:The main battle royale box

Walk into a game store in the US and you’ll be lucky to find PC games at all. Digital games sure cut down on clutter, but a recent visit to a few PC game stores in Taiwan reminded me how nice and colorful a cluttered shelf of big box PC games can be. Taiwan is like an alternate universe for PC games, one centered around Guang Hua Digital Plaza, a mall in Taipei filled with tiny electronics stores and component shops and game stores. My favorite ones focus exclusively on PC games, and I love how

It was just a short time ago when a ‘deal’ on a graphics card meant paying MSRP, or even a little above. Underscoring that point is an actual deal on a GeForce GTX 1070 Ti card over at Newegg today.
