Users were formerly required to purchase a Battle Chest for a flat, upfront fee in order to start the game, with this charge excluding ongoing monthly subscription prices. “Get access to World of Warcraft and every expansion through Legion with your subscription—no additional purchase required. Today, not only is Star Citizen still in development (its Kickstarter delivery date originally suggested a late-2014 release), it’s become a radically different game. However, according to RSI, only a portion of the $4,500 Lord pledged to Star Citizen was pledged under the old terms of service. “His pledges with new money on top of his earlier pledges required him to accept the new Terms of Service,” RSI said. The Star Citizen Terms of Service have changed substantially over the years. As it sta

David Gaider, you may recall, left BioWare in 2016 after 17 years with the studio. Gaider worked on multiple series in his tenure, but he’s best known for his work as lead writer on the Dragon Age games, all the way from Origins to Inquisition. A year before he left the studio, Gaider also parted ways with Dragon Age to move onto a new project. At the time, he said “it’s hard to leave Dragon Age behind,” and judging from the Dragon Age: Inquisition fanfiction Gaider just published on Medium , he

After a slick tutorial, Scythe tucks you into a corner of its strategy map, presses a couple of coins in your hand and shouts ‘Go!’ Depending on which faction and player board you’ve been assigned, the strategy starts to set in: Do you build? For that reason, Scythe pushes refinement over creative adaptation, expertise over exploration—but just as in the board game, the achievements gently nudge players towards self-imposed unorthodoxy. This is the first board game soundtrack I’ve found myself h

The first quarter of Ubisoft’s 2018-19 fiscal year was a very good one for the company—a record-setter, in fact. Ubi reported sales of €400 million ($466 million) for the quarter, driven primarily by continued growth of digital sales and “player recurring investment” [PRI] in “digital items, DLC, season passes, subscriptions, and advertising.” The Xbox One, which barely edged out the PC last year, came in third this time around, accounting for 22 percent of sales by platform. It’s not the first

But I’d rather play X-Wing than watch the prequels. The red typography is bold, and that dramatic tagline really cuts to the core of what the game is. I love this advert because it reminds me of being really into Beavis and Butt-head in my teenage years. This advert pokes fun at other fighting games that were popular at the time, including Mortal Kombat. Night Trap (1994)This infamous FMV adventure was the focus, along with other controversial games of the era, of a congressional hearing.

Aliens: Colonial Marines suffered from a lot of issues, including wonky enemy AI that resulted in erratic and confused Xenomorph behavior. Launching without that typo probably wouldn’t have been enough to “save” the game but it sure would’ve helped, and so to ensure that something like this doesn’t happen again, Gearbox has posted a job listing for a Programming Copy Editor. “Gearbox Software is looking for a capable and driven full-time engineer to review all code for typos,” the listing states

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has promised custom matches for some time. Today, they arrive on test servers via an open beta—and while they come free-of-charge at present, developer PUBG Corp may eventually put them behind a paywall so the system “remains sustainable long-term”. As outlined in this Steam Community update, PUBG Corp says custom matches allow players to “play PUBG your way” by customising various aspects of the game, hosting private matches, or tailoring pre-existing War and Zombi

Everything we know about Fallout 76 so far suggests it’s an online multiplayer survival game. In conversation with The Guardian, Howard says ‘survival’ takes prospective players’ minds to games that don’t necessarily reflect Fallout 76. “We avoid the word ‘survival’, because people’s minds immediately go to DayZ and Rust and certain other games, and those comparisons are not really accurate for what we’re doing,” Howard tells The Guardian. Howard explains that the idea of Fallout 76 was original
