pcgamer wrote a new post, Monster Hunter: World armor skills guide, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
You use the armor skills attached to armor to strengthen your hunter and tailor your play style, so understanding these skills is essential. With that being said, let’s look at how armor skills work, how you can improve your skills, and some of the best skills to use. Using armor skillsEvery piece of armor in Monster Hunter: World has one or more armor skills attached to it which provide passive bonuses (starter armor sets notwithstanding). Improving your armor skillsApart from equipping multipl

pcgamer wrote a new post, 6 ways Metal Gear can have a future after Survive, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
A few weeks ago, Konami released an annual update for Metal Gear Solid 5 that lets you play as Quiet in FOB missions. That said, it sucks to see Metal Gear try something new, miss the mark, then seemingly be ignored. Metal Gear has had a captive audience of millions that cares about a singleplayer stealth series for almost twenty years. Metal Gear Acid was a turn-based game for Sony’s PlayStation Portable that required players to use cards to perform attacks, which at the time I considered a sli

pcgamer wrote a new post, I made a billion yen running a Yakuza 0 hostess club and I can’t stop, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
I didn’t really know what a hostess club was before I played Yakuza 0. That did not happen with the hostess club, because the minigame is incredible. Recently I made my first billion at the hostess club and unlocked an achievement for spending it. I know I’m not getting the real story about hostess clubs. But Yakuza 0 isn’t a historical document, and I’d rather see the Yakuza’s characteristic reflection on hostess clubs than nothing at all.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Blizzard has ‘multiple Diablo projects in the works’, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
In June, a Blizzard job posting revealed it was “working on a new, unannounced Diablo project”. At the time, a reimagining of the second game seemed unlikely, as did a full-on Diablo 4. But today Blizzard has announced it has “multiple Diablo projects in the works.” The Season of Greed is our first Themed Season and we plan to explore additional themes in the future. And we have multiple Diablo projects in the works.

The Coming Storm update adds a new Behemoth, named Koshai, and a new faction, the Ostians. Here’s Phoenix Labs on how The Coming Storm fits into its existing lore:The Coming Storm begins when an Ostian Dreadnought is assaulted forcing them to take refuge in Ramsgate. Tyler “Ninja” Blevins is hosting his most ambitious Fortnite event to date, the Red Bull Rise Till Dawn tournament, and things aren’t going well. Tyler “Ninja” BlevinsOne year ago, Blevins was just another streamer putting in ten-hour days, seven days a week to get by. Ninja streams from Lollapalooza with members of the band All Time Low. Blevins’ streaming block even received a single donation of $100,000 from an anonymous donor. Lupo says that Blevins’ success largely comes from his dedication

pcgamer wrote a new post, Bethesda’s QuakeCon 2018 Steam sale has begun, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
Even though you won’t be able to play Fallout 76 on Steam at launch, almost everything else in Bethesda’s back catalogue is discounted on Valve’s platform this weekend, just in time for QuakeCon 2018. While I can’t find a dedicated Steam page for the sale just yet, probably because it began very recently and Dead Cells is currently occupying the homepage, you can see the discounts by heading to Bethesda’s publisher page on Steam and scrolling down to ‘specials’. Fallout 4’s GOTY edition is £20/$

pcgamer wrote a new post, ‘EA moral compass’ gives dev teams guidance on loot boxes post-Battlefront 2, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
At the end of last year, we wrote about how the loot box controversy shaped gaming in 2017. Star Wars Battlefront 2’s slant on the paid-for virtual items was at the centre of the backlash—and the debate has expectedly rolled into 2018. At launch, Tyler explained how Battlefront 2’s loot boxes worked—saying that while players weren’t forced to buy premium currency, the system’s presence was always felt. In April of this year, EA’s then-new chief designer Patrick Söderlund promised to avoid a repe

Phil’s look inside Eidos Montreal’s darker, deadlier and stealthier Shadow of the Tomb Raider suggests its combat will combine stealth and assault closer than before. I’m sure the poor chap above had it coming. Launched earlier this week, another short shows off the huge, intricate tombs Lara will explore. The whip-leveraging moves shown around the 28-second mark below are particularly impressive:That sure trumps my once-a-month 20 minutes on the treadmill. Shadow of the Tomb Raider is due Septe

OIG was further advised that no additional analysis or after-action work has been done related to the alleged DDoS.” “The May 7-8, 2016 degradation of the F

pcgamer wrote a new post, Runescape Classic’s shutdown was delayed just so one player could finish his last quest, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
Twitch streamer Titus_Furius will go down in history as Runescape Classic’s final and arguably greatest legend. On Monday, August 6, the day Jagex closed the Classic servers some 17 years after they opened, Titus completed the game’s toughest challenge: the Legends’ Quest. Titus first played Runescape Classic in 2003. Despite the good-natured trolling of the crowd that had formed around him, Titus managed to slay the demon Nezikchened and complete the Legends’ Quest. pcgamer wrote a new post, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 beta system requirements announced, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
First things first, you’re going to need a Battle.net account if you don’t already have one, because Black Ops 4—much like Fallout 76—will not be on Steam. Besides, the odds are pretty good that you’re already playing Overwatch, Hearthstone, and/or Destiny 2 (and thus have the Battle.net client installed) anyway. “Participating in the beta helps our development teams here at Treyarch, at Beenox, and at Blizzard gather data that is used to fine-tune the PC experience,” Treyarch wrote. Here’s our in-house Destiny 2 expert Austin Wood with some thoughts on what’s been revealed:The new weapon system was the high point of today’s PvP-focused stream. The new PvP special ammo economy is also interesting: you spawn with two rounds for your special weapon, or one round for each if you’re running two shotguns or what-have-you, and players drop special ammo on death. While it’s often synonymous with smashing your head against a wall of repetitive chores for little reward, grinding doesn’t have to be a bad thing and Monster Hunter: World proves it. While it’s fundamentally being a game about farming resources and slaying the same monsters again and again, Monster Hunter: World finds smart ways to push back against the worst cliches of grinding. Fine grindsI love how Monster Hunter: World gives me tools to influence those odds, as grim as they may be at times,

Intel is already delivering on the latter promise with its new SSD 660p series. They are also the first NVMe drives to use 4-bit QLC memory chips (Samsung will release 2.5-inch SATA drives that use QLC chips later this year). Save for a spattering of recently discounted 2.5-inch SATA SSD deals, Intel’s pricing is around the same, and even cheaper in some cases. As to performance, Intel claims its 660p SSDs deliver sequential reads and writes at up to 1,800MB/s (sequential), with 4K random reads

pcgamer wrote a new post, Ubisoft shares first details of Operation Grim Sky, Rainbow Six Siege’s next season, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 3 months ago
The next season of Rainbow Six Siege officially has a name: Operation Grim Sky. The two operators have joined Team Rainbow as part of its Urban Tactical Response Team, codenamed Grim Sky. The attacker in the Grim Sky image is clearly wielding a blow torch, so it’s safe to confirm that much. You can’t make out too many details in the image, but the mystery operator doesn’t look much like his default look from the game. Grim Sky will also bring a complete map rework for one of Siege’s old classics

Forget about falling rocks, be on the lookout for falling prices on graphics cards. That’s what we have been doing, and we found yet another deal on a Radeon RX 580 with 8GB of GDDR5 memory. Over at Newegg, MSI’s vanilla Radeon RX 580 8GB is available for $219.99 after cashing in the $30 mail-in-rebate. That is one of the lowest prices we’ve seen for a Radeon RX 580, but it gets even better if you charge it to your Mastercard. Based on our experience, the Radeon RX 580 is roughly on par with a G
