We are now just days away from Nvidia’s upcoming GeForce event where the GPU maker promises to deliver “spectacular surprises,” the biggest of which figures to be the unveiling of its hotly anticipated GeForce RTX 2080. The event kicks off Monday, August 20 at 9:00 am PST (12:00 pm EDT / 4:00 pm GMT). Nvidia recently announced a new Turing GPU, which it’s using in its new line of professional-grade Quadro RTX graphics cards with real-time ray-tracing capabilities. Not long after, Nvidia posted a

pcgamer wrote a new post, Nvidia’s outlook on cryptocurrency GPU sales is great news for gamers, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
This past year was a tough one for gamers who found themselves in need of a GPU upgrade. The cryptocurrency mining boom ravaged the consumer graphics card market, leaving in its wake depleted inventories and jacked up prices. Nvidia reported its second quarter earnings, and while it performed well overall, cryptocurrency GPU sales fell well short of expectations. “Our revenue outlook had anticipated cryptocurrency-specific products declining to approximately $100 million, while actual crypto-spe

pcgamer wrote a new post, Microsoft says Halo: Infinite “is Halo 6”, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Microsoft has stated that Halo fans should think of Halo: Infinite as Halo 6, despite the game not actually being called Halo 6. Microsoft has been saying for some time that it wants to get away from numbered Halo titles. But by going with the title “Infinite” Microsoft has muddied the waters perhaps more than it wanted too. Studio head Chris Lee has previously confirmed that Infinite is a direct sequel to Halo 5, while it’s also been determined Infinite will focus more on Master Chief than the

pcgamer wrote a new post, Co-op survival game Generation Zero gets a gameplay trailer, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Avalanche studios has released a meaty video showing off the systems behind its new cooperative survival game Generation Zero. Generation Zero was announced at this year’s E3. Beyond that basic outline, however, little else about the game was discussed. It seems rather tacked on, and aside from some of the character’s clothing, there’s little about the video that lends Generation Zero that specific sense of time. Generation Zero is due out net year, so hopefully it won’t be long before that happ

DontNod’s gritty action-RPG Vampyr is getting a TV spinoff, it has been announced. The game’s developer, Dontnod Entertainment, granted the TV series rights to Fox 21, a subsidiary of 20th Century Fox. The actual adaptation will be handled by DJ2 Entertainment, who is already working with Dontnod on a TV adaptation of Life is Strange. Netflix is currently working on a Witcher TV show, while Halo is getting its own TV series courtesy of Showtime. Vampyr may seem a slightly less obvious choice for

A U.S. court has awarded Take-Two Interactive a preliminary injunction to block software that helps players cheat at Grand Theft Auto Online, Reuters reports. On Thursday, U.S District Judge Luis Stratton awarded the injunction against Georgia resident David Zipperer, who Take-Two had accused of selling two programs without the company’s permission, which provided players who used them an unfair advantage in GTA Online. In addition to enabling griefing within GTA Online, Take-Two claimed that th

You also need to make the best of the situation, and use whatever weapons come to hand, just like Agent 47 does in this new Hitman 2 video. Titled “How to Hitman”, the video is mainly about showing off Hitman 2’s immersive qualities. In addition, the video discusses how missions will evolve depending on the way players approach their objective. The video also shows us Agent 47 going about his business in his typically multifaceted style, knocking out guards, sniping from rooftops, blowing up rac

Thanks to its Kickstarter success, Boyfriend Dungeon has also added two bonus weapons, including Pocket, a cat that transforms into brass knuckles. The Kickstarter also explains how dating weapons actually works. There will also be multiple difficulty modes to accommodate people who are more interested in t

pcgamer wrote a new post, Adult game approval on Steam could still be months away, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Valve said in June that Steam’s policies were being changed to allow basically everything on Steam, as long as it wasn’t either illegal or “straight-up trolling.” In light of that, it’s no surprise (or at least it shouldn’t be) that adult games are not being automatically and immediately approved for sale on Steam. “Your game has content in it that needs these features to be completed and shipped first. You’ll have to do some additional store page work around describing the content in your game

The competitive multiplayer game Mad Machines sounds a lot like hockey—if hockey was played by “panzer-plated robot gladiators” using a giant, magnetic ball made of spikes instead of a slab of frozen rubber. Developed by Danish studio Hero Blocks, it features 3v3 action with a heavy emphasis on teamwork, and no small amount of bloodlust. Also interesting is that Mad Machines will debut as a “First on Discord” game. Given the importance of in-game communication, Hero Blocks said official Discord

Fallout 76, Bethesda’s new multiplayer Fallout spin-off, will not launch on Steam in September. But Bethesda has a lot to prove with Fallout 76 if we’re to believe it’s the right decision for players, too. Fallout 76 is a multiplayer game, and it’s already asking us to replicate yet another friends list to play together. If the dev team wants to build tools to update Fallout 76 in a certain way, they can. That could alleviate headaches for them, make Fallout 76 patching faster, or even mean quic

When reached for comment on the delay, North Star Games said that though they were quite happy with the game’s features, unexpected complications with the multiplayer caused some “major hurdles” in development. pcgamer wrote a new post, ‘Garbage town builder’ Flotsam mixes survival and city building in new trailer, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Flotsam is part city sim and part survival game. It’s set in a never-ending ocean, so you have to build your town from driftwood, flotsam and whatever garbage floats by in the waves. Hence the nickname, “The Happy-Go-Lucky Garbage Town Builder.” You also need to support and oversee the citizens of your garbage town, your “drifters,” by providing food and water and putting them to work. They can collect rainwater, hunt for fish, or scoop up more building materials caught in the tide.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Here’s exactly where Fortnite’s stone heads are looking, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
In this week’s slate of new Fortnite challenges, you’ll need to search between more than three objects for once. ‘Search where the stone heads are looking’ is the only clue this week, but given how many big stone faces that littered the map at the start of season five, this one’s a piece of cake. They’re all looking towards the same spot, the spot where you’ll find some easy battle pass stars. To be precise, you’ll need to head to the hill just southwest of Salty Springs. I have to wonder though

Polygod is a randomly-generated roguelike FPS about a Faceless One, a legendary assassin with one arm who must prove himself to the seven deities by fighting through their arenas and defeating their Holy Champions in order to ascend to godhood. It features a colorful, minimalist visual style and a “brutal difficulty curve,” and after nearly two years on Steam Early Access it will go into full release tomorrow. And it is as difficult as billed: I played the Early Access release last year and it k

Aside from the cool skins, Season 1 was very barebones. Season 1 was Fortnite Battle Royale before it discovered its own identity and separated itself from the then-deserved PUBG comparisons. Season 4For a lot of players, Season 4 was the first full season they experienced. The Black Knight was a phenomenal reward for reaching the end of the battle pass too. Season 2 is when Fortnite became vanguard of battle royale, rapidly taking the genre to a more playful, experimental place.

Directly underneath the Elite Atlas Pro is the Atlas Three ($79.95), which also uses 50mm drivers, though there is no indication they have undergone any special tuning. This on

Orwell is a game about life in a surveillance state, where people are tracked through digital footprints analyzed by massive computer networks and a handful of human analysts—you know, like today. Getting to the point of all this, it’s also free for the next couple of days on the Humble Store. Just hit the Orwell store page, click the “add to cart” button, and then rock the “checkout” button, unless you want to do some more shopping before you wrap up. Either way, once you’ve finished up you’ll
