pcgamer wrote a new post, See upcoming Fortnite skins datamined from the 5.30 update, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Dedicated dataminers at the Fortnite subreddit have scoured the v5.30 content update files and unearthed the next batch of skins, pickaxes, gliders, back bling, and emotes coming to the in-game item store, or via future promotions. Take note that the Road Trip skin is part of crop this week, located just below the biker woman. Chances are they’re related to whatever happens in the lead up to Season 6. I’m partial to the raven woman, if only because I want those wings. I’m going to throw those su

pcgamer wrote a new post, Forza Horizon 4 will let you ‘push to the extreme beyond Ultra’ on PC, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Forza Horizon 4 is a sequel of tasteful innovations and gorgeous seasons, reckons Luke Winkie. “We’re now basing our recommended spec on 60 frames per second and not 30, which is a change from Forza Horizon 3,” says Penrose. And we’ve also got a whole bunch of new options you can push [your PC] to the extreme beyond Ultra, if you’ve got a very powerful PC. As for what Playground has learned from its last Horizon venture on PC, Penrose says: “We were definitely pleased with the audience. Forza Ho

pcgamer wrote a new post, NZXT’s Hue 2 products aim to light up your desktop, inside and out, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Placing LED light strips on the back of a display is not a new idea by any stretch, particularly in home theater setups. At the center of the new lighting gear and Hue 2 ecosystem are a couple of new controllers: the four-channel Hue 2 RGB controller and the external Hue 2 Ambient Lighting controller. The Hue 2 RGB kit sells for $74.99 and comes with the controller and four RGB light strips. Not all of NZXT’s Hue 2 products appear to be available yet. The ones we found in NZXT’s online store inc

pcgamer wrote a new post, Fortnite’s Tomato Town replaced with an ancient temple dedicated to our beloved leader, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Tomato Town, the cutest lil landing spot is gone. In its place is Tomato Temple, a much larger and more complex area built in honor of what once was lost. Just last week a stone tomato effigy appeared through the portal, and today, we found out where big red’s been. That temple in its entirety was pulled back through, splitting the earth from the house west of Tomato Town all the way to the pizza restaurant. Alongside the new point of interest, new challenges are available for anyone that bought

In June, we asked: Can the Forsaken expansion turn around Destiny 2’s fortunes on PC? We’ll find out either way when the next chapter of Bungie’s space opera lands on September 4. Till then, feast your eyes on the scene-setting cinematic above, showcased on stage at Gamescom today. “Destiny 2: Forsaken opens with an explosive jailbreak in the Prison of Elders,” reads the trailer’s description. During its Gamescom presentation, Bungie also spoke to Forsaken’s new Gambit mode, a hybrid of PvP and

pcgamer wrote a new post, For Honor starter edition goes free, draws over 225,000 concurrent players on Steam, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
For Honor’s starter edition went free-to-play on Steam yesterday, and it certainly drew a crowd. Ubisoft’s multiplayer combat game blew up the Steam charts with a peak of 216,499 concurrent players yesterday—and then turned around and topped that today with over 227,000 concurrents. That moves For Honor into 8th place on Steam’s all-time peak playercount list, pushing past No Man’s Sky’s 2016 launch day playercount (212k) and just below Payday 2 (247k) when it went free-to-play in 2017. pcgamer wrote a new post, This PC has a built-in coffee maker, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Usually if there’s liquid in your PC, it’s to cool down toasty components such as the processor and RAM. Zotac and Caseking had something else in mind, however, when the two companies collaborated on a custom PC that doubles as a coffee machine. A few months ago, Caseking founder Ali Abbas posted a video explaining that there’s an Nespresso machine tucked inside. The little flavored cups jam into the side of the chassis, and a short while later, delicious coffee flows from the spout in the front

The swipe-to-rule game Reigns will head to a new and very dangerous realm in October with the release of Reigns: Games of Thrones, a collaboration between Nerial, Devolver Digital, and HBO that will bring the “Tinderocracy” to the Seven Kingdoms. Gameplay will be essentially the same as in previous Reigns games: Each new moon you’ll answer a question or resolve a problem by swiping left or right. Each swipe takes your story in a different direction, maybe good and maybe bad. Reigns: Game of Thro

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds’ latest limited-time event mode is Desert Knights—the 50-person deathmatch that debuted in May, but was prematurely pulled as a result of server issues. Set on Miramar, ten squads of five drop into the desert, tooled up with level three gear and a crate weapon. “Armed to the teeth and kitted out for battle, these warriors know things are about to heat up the cool desert morning. Their orders as tall as the shadows cast by the rising sun, the Desert Knights are ready

The creatures of Monster Hunter: World are majestic, awe-inspiring beasts, so it’s only natural that we would want to murder them and carve out their organs to make cool suits of armor. pcgamer wrote a new post, Cheaper RTX 2080 cards will arrive after the initial launch, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
If you’re disappointed by the high prices announced for Nvidia’s RTX 2080 and RTX 2080 Ti, cards like the Asus RTX 2080 Turbo should come in at the lower end of the announced price range. That’s still a hefty $699 for the RTX 2080, and $999 for the RTX 2080 Ti, but every little bit helps. The good news is that we should see custom RTX designs not too long after the initial launch on September 20. I’ve seen custom RTX 2080 models from just about every graphics card vendor at Gamescom, most using

pcgamer wrote a new post, Check out this ridiculous liquid-cooled 64-core Epyc server, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
We’ve all seen liquid cooling by now, but this dual socket Epyc server put together by der8auer and Caseking isn’t your normal liquid cooling. It has liquid cooling blocks on the CPUs, sure, but instead of the normal fans blowing air across the rest of the components, everything is partially submerged in liquid, with jets spraying across the board. It’s a pretty awesome setup, and obviously more of a publicity stunt than something you’d want to have running in a datacenter. It’s also extremely f

We sent Tom to talk with 4A Games about Metro’s wildest ride yet for this month’s cover story. Previews this month include Desperados 3, Zone of the Enders 2, Night Call and many more. Information on its incoming Blackout battle royale mode remains slim, but both Moses and Wilson, alongside Treyarch’s director of communications John Rafacz, have teased more info at Gamescom. It feels like Black Ops.” It is still very much an environment build for Black Ops.” There’s a lot there to dig if you’re a Black Ops fan.” Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale beta kicks off next month.

I’m meeting with Dominik Abé, creative director of Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun and founder of Mimimi Productions. Shadow Tactics is old school by design, inspired by classic, uncompromising stealth games like Commandos and Desperados. Given the extent to which Shadow Tactics wears its influences on its sleeve, Mimimi seems like the perfect developer to resurrect the Desperados series. This is one of the main things I saw that clearly differentiates Desperados 3 from both its predecessor

As very briefly teased in the trailer up top, the Rift-To-Go lets players conjure rifts on the fly, for personal use and for squads. “The Rift-To-Go is any player’s ace in the hole, creating a Rift for themselves and allies. With more ramps, new rifts and a “couple dozen” new ATKs, players have plenty to get on with inside their 60-minute window. Score Royale, on the other hand, lets players earn points by collecting coins, opening loot containers and eliminating other players. “The first to cro

pcgamer wrote a new post, Devil May Cry 5: disposable exploding robot arms and frustrating camera controls, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Nero has lost his demon arm from Devil May Cry 4 and replaced it with a succession of disposable robot arms in Devil May Cry 5. Devil May Cry is hardly the most realistic hack-and-slash series around, but this is bizarre. This is easily the best-looking Devil May Cry game, and though the demo lacks the outstanding musical drops DmC built into its combos, the tone of DmC5 seems perfect. During the boss fight, the camera regularly tried to wrench me away from the destination I was trying to reach.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Generation Zero is a fun but simple co-op FPS where the evil robots are the real stars, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
If you enjoyed the scary Black Mirror episode ‘Metalhead’, where Maxine Peake’s character is chased by a killer robot dog for ages, you’ll like the basic enemy types in Avalanche’s Generation Zero. And they are by far the most exciting part of this four-player co-op shooter, based on my 25-minute demo. It’s like if Everybody’s Gone to the Rapture was set in Sweden, except instead of no one you had evil robots. Generation Zero will cost $35 at launch, which feels about right based on what I’ve pl
