pcgamer wrote a new post, Tactics RPG Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark shows tons of promise, even in Early Access, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
I picked up Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark right where I left off at the end of the Kickstarter Backers’ build, guiding my team of fantasy sheriffs on a globetrotting adventure to root out the corruption in their order of peacekeepers. I’ve had no issues with crashing or game-stopping bugs, but playing Fell Seal: Arbiter’s Mark now, with its story unfinished, would feel a little bit like peeking at your presents. Brave new world mapSince the build released to Kickstarter backers in March, Fell Seal h

If you’re looking to build a new gaming PC with AMD hardware, you can save a few bucks by taking advantage of Newegg’s bundle offer consisting of a Ryzen 5 2600 processor and Asus ROG Strix X370-F Gaming motherboard. Purchased together, the combo is priced at $299.99, saving you $59.99 if you were to buy the two parts separately. That’s a nice chunk of change that you can apply to some other area, like the graphics card, memory allotment, or storage. In case you’re not familiar with these parts,

Hunt: Showdown is primarily a cooperative venture, but from today until September 6, players can opt to take on Solo contracts instead. The time-limited Solo Event pits up to 10 individual players against one another in a competition for a bloody bounty that only one can claim—and you know what that means. Other rewards will be handed out during the event as well, but Crytek didn’t get into the details on what they might be. To take part in the Hunt: Showdown Solo Event, just select “Solo” from

Samsung is rolling out a new line of portable SSDs , though unlike every previous model the company has ever announced, these new drives are based on fast NVMe storage. We haven’t benchmarked these drives, but according to Samsung, it’s new SSD X5 family offers a read speed of up to 2,800MB/s and a write speed of up to 2,300MB/s. By leveraging NVMe, these new drives are far and away faster than Samsung’s Previous flagship portable storage option, the SSD T5. In contrast, the SSD X5 connects to y

pcgamer wrote a new post, Getting rich quick in Mount and Blade 2: Bannerlord’s sandbox singleplayer campaign, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
“How do you have so much money?” asks the Mount & Blade 2: Bannerlord booth manager at Gamescom as I end my half-hour session. It’s refreshing to be dropped into Mount and Blade 2’s medieval sandbox with no objectives whatsoever. There isn’t time to dig into Mount and Blade 2’s most ambitious features. Mount and Blade has always been a bit wonky, but that’s part of its appeal, and the sequel shows a strong commitment to player-driven stories in a bustling sandbox world. Mount and Blade 2: Banner

pcgamer wrote a new post, Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition is out Friday as a free update, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Our 2017 Game of the Year wasn’t our favorite game of 2017 because it was technically flawless. Divinity: Original Sin 2 launched with a few bugs, and there are weak spots within its mountains of dialogue. I still loved it, though, and it’d be hard for Larian to somehow make it worse, so I’m damn excited for Divinity: Original Sin 2 Definitive Edition, which launches this Friday, August 31 as a free update on PC. The 8.2 GB Definitive Edition update promises “approximately 150,000 new and rewrit

pcgamer wrote a new post, Battlefield 5 release date delayed to November, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Originally due on October 19, Battlefield 5 has been delayed by just under five weeks. As told by EA, the delay follows feedback from its closed alpha and showings at E3 and Gamescom. With its open beta next week, EA prepares itself for more feedback still—which is ultimately why its final release is being pushed back. We can’t wait to see you on the battlefield in just a few days.” As teased by Jared yesterday, here’s 15 minutes of Battlefield 5 running on an RTX 2080 Ti.

You’ll apparently be able to set quests for other players, paying them gold if there’s a certain resource you need tracking down. New World is set in a mysterious, supernatural continent at the end of the 17th century. I ask Gilmore how many players they expect to support in this continent. Amazon’s cloud technology is how the game supports this many players. I ask how they’re going to charge for the game.

Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is free to play this weekend and 50% off on Steam if you haven’t had the chance to try it yet. Fatshark’s Left4Dead-ish co-op first-person game is spot-on for a free weekend. Steven gave Vermintide 2 80% back in March. “Vermintide 2’s combat and level design are so feverishly fun that I’ll put up with its bad matchmaking and RPG progression if it means chopping more ratmen in half,” says his verdict. This free weekend coincides with the release of this week’s Shadows Over

Tripwire Interactive are the Roswell-based studio known for developing the Killing Floor series and the Rising Storm series. It also published Road Rash successor Road Redemption. With savings ranging from 50 to 85 percent, the Steam sale can be viewed in full this-a-way. For my money, highlights include Killing Floor 2 and Rising Storm. Things have moved on some since, but Evan’s enthusiasm for Rising Storm at launch really shines through here:What an absurdly well-designed FPS this is.

Last month, Bungie accidentally disabled skill-based matchmaking for Destiny 2’s quickplay PvP mode, inadvertently creating more chaotic matches that value speed over balance. However, following yesterday’s pre-Forsaken update, the same quickplay proponents are suspicious that skill-based matchmaking has returned to ruin their fun. Several prominent Destiny 2 PvP streamers and YouTubers are reporting dramatically longer quickplay queue times, which is a textbook symptom of skill-based matchmakin

Discord also took a stroll into Valve’s neighborhood recently, announcing that it’s going to start selling games within its chat client. Valve replied with a new Steam chat client that’s awfully Discord-like. What should we make of the end of specialization, where your chat client sells you games, your streaming website develops games, and your games retailer streams games? The Discord client will also be able to launch non-Discord games, much in the same way non-Steam games can be added to your
