Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Grim Sky update, which adds two new operators, will go live on Tuesday, September 4, Ubisoft has announced. The two new operators are Maverick, an attacker that can use a blowtorch to make a “murder hole”, and Clash, the shooter’s first shield-carrying defender. Operation Grim Sky will also rework the Hereford Base map, creating a new, WW2-themed aesthetic. Operation Grim Sky has been live on the test servers for a while, but this is the first time all players will

pcgamer wrote a new post, Artifact is not nearly as hard to play as it looks, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
But this might be the first digital card game I get into for the long haul. It’s not nearly as hard to learn and play as it looks. Card game stuff. I, a card game fool, managed to beat a very serious looking man sitting across from me by only paying attention to these variables. It looks extremely complex, and will allow for absurd high-level play, but Artifact is not a game specifically positioned for card game veterans.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Capcom’s stance on Monster Hunter: World mods is still unclear, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
The cosmetic mods we’re seeing for World aren’t like the paid Street Fighter mods that have drawn Capcom’s ire in the past, but World is still a multiplayer game with a vague EULA, so it’s unclear what mods Capcom considers harmless. According to a screenshot posted by Tenzi92, a Capcom support representative said:Capcom does not support any mods created by third parties, any official mod would be published on the Steam page of the game. You can use any mods you like for the game, but it is at y

pcgamer wrote a new post, This week’s highs and lows in PC gaming, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
It was one of the truly big, unusual things I saw at Gamescom last week, and this week I wrote about it . Tom Senior: Gamescom as you areWe were too busy travelling back from Gamescom to talk about Gamescom last week, so let’s recap some of the really tasty stuff. Looking ahead to next week, I’m preparing to return for my six-monthly dose of Destiny 2 as the massive Forsaken expansion lands on PC. Andy Kelly: Fresh HillSilent Hill 2 is one of my favourite games, lingering somewhere in my persona

pcgamer wrote a new post, Fortnite’s storm will damage player-made structures starting in patch 5.40, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
A new development update posted today (see above) reveals some of the changes coming to Fortnite in patch 5.40. At the top of the order is that, near the end of a match, the edges of the storm will now damage player-built structures. The 5.40 update will also see the revolver sent to the vault “to keep the item pool feeling fresh and dynamic.” Finally, the patch will also include balance changes such as increasing the rarity of remote explosives, increasing the stack size of boogie bombs from on

pcgamer wrote a new post, Last Tide is a diving battle royale shooter filled with sharks, now on Steam, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
The folks at Digital Confectioners took one look at the booming battle royale genre, furrowed their brows, steepled their fingers, and said, “This is great, but it needs more sharks.” At least that’s how I assume Last Tide was born, an aquatic battle royale shooter set in a shark-filled sea. Last Tide is a fairly faithful battle royale game: 100 players fight to the death within an ever-shrinking circle on a map where some sort of gun fairy just finished sprinkling lethal firearms all over the p

pcgamer wrote a new post, 24 years later, speedrunner finds ‘the last official secret’ of Doom 2, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
According to John Romero , Doom speedrunner Zero Master has finally uncovered Doom 2’s best-kept secret: a previously inaccessible sector found in the Industrial Zone map designed by Romero himself. This secret has technically been known for some time, but Zero Master was the first to obtain it without using any cheats. As Zero Master explained on YouTube, “a secret can only be triggered if Doomguy’s center is within the secret area and if he is on the same height as the secret sector.” “This fo

pcgamer wrote a new post, Here’s what’s changing in the Battlefield 5 open beta next week, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
The Battlefield 5 open beta starts on September 6 for most, and earlier on September 4 for those who subscribe to Origin Access or have pre-ordered the game. The Arctic Fjord map from the closed alpha will be joined by Rotterdam, which we saw at Gamescom. The Fall of Norway Grand Operation available in the beta will include the Airborne mode, which sees one team deploying in a plane and parachuting to the ground. Over on the Battlefield forums, meanwhile, multiplayer producer David Sirland has p

pcgamer wrote a new post, CitizenCon digital ticket plan scrapped following uproar among Star Citizen fans, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
This year’s CitizenCon, the annual convention celebrating all things Star Citizen, was going to be a little different from previous events, because this year Cloud Imperium planned to charge $20 for a “digital ticket” that would grant access to all livestreamed events. Unsurprisingly, that plan, as you can see in this Star Citizen subreddit thread, went over like a lead balloon with a significant number of Star Citizen fans. The uproar was such that Star Citizen head guy Chris Roberts posted a l

pcgamer wrote a new post, ‘We’re in a place to invest and focus a lot more on games again,’ says Valve, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
This is the second time in recent months Valve has made it clear it has new games projects in the works, and not just its card game Artifact. In March, Valve’s Gabe Newell said “Artifact is the first of several games that are going to be coming from us. “That was a hard problem, and it took a bunch of people a bunch of time to work on.” Reinhart went on to confirm that, yep, there’s more cooking at Valve than Artifact:”Now we’re in a place where we’re able to, as a company, invest and focus a lo

Correct, one of indie gaming’s oldest platformers has a card game now. Rival Rush is a head to head card game that the nice people who make Super Meat Boy have cooked up and are showing off at PAX West. You can check out a gameplay video above. Designed by Team Meat members Kyle Pulver and Tommy Refenes, it’s up on the net for ordering now at its website , and a print and play set will be released after PAX West wraps up. Reading the rules and cards, it looks like an intense little dueling card

Valve has finally, fully revealed its Dota 2-based card game Artifact at PAX, with a video from IGN showing off nearly 20 minutes of uncut gameplay. Once that’s wrapped up, follow-on heroes are deployed: The first three heroes are placed automatically, but reinforcements can be placed wherever you want them. The process then begins again, until two of your enemy’s three towers are destroyed, and victory is yours. There’s a lot more to it than that, and it will take a more experienced digital car

Do you need a new gaming mouse? We have plenty of recommendations, though if you’re looking to score a rodent on sale, Best Buy is selling Razer’s Lancehead Tournament Edition (wired) for $37.99 today. That’s a big savings over its $79.99 list price, and still priced quite a bit lower than its ~$60 street price. The Lancehead is equipped with a “true 16,000 dpi” 5G sensor and mechanical mouse switches. It has nine programmable buttons in all, along with customizable Chroma (RGB) lighting, onboar

pcgamer wrote a new post, Zone of the Enders 2’s PC remaster proves that cool doesn’t age, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
Zone of the Enders 2: The Second Runner is still impossibly cool. I spent about four hours learning how to pilot Jehuty, Dingo’s prominently codpieced mech, in a wholly new first-person VR mode designed for the remaster. This VR mode, better than anything else I’ve played, sells the fantasy of being a mecha pilot in an over-the-top anime. But that brings us back to Zone of the Enders’ ultimate appeal: it is cool. And the VR mode, a completely new way to play the game, is also completely optional

The discovery of Nazi tattoos on characters in the open-world survival game Scum has resulted in an apology from publisher Devolver Digital, and their removal from the game. Devolver, the game’s publisher, responded differently, saying that it does not agree with the use of Nazi symbols, “or any hateful content,” regardless of the intent. This content has been patched out as of this morning, and Devolver Digital are currently conducting a full review of all assets and content in the game with Ga

pcgamer wrote a new post, MSI dresses up gaming hardware in a stylish laptop for creators and designers, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 2 months ago
From our vantage point, it looks like a GS65 Stealth (the best gaming laptop out there, in our opinion) in slightly different digs. The P65 Creator is relatively thin and light, measuring 14.11 x 9.75 x 0.7 inches (WxDxH) and weighing less than 4 pounds. Even the display is similar to the GS65 Stealth, at least at the top end. The GS65 Stealth also separates itself with Killer-powered Wi-Fi and LAN, if that’s something you care about. There’s no word yet on when the P65 Creator series will be av

Barring a delay here in the homestretch, the next major upgrade to Windows 10 will begin rolling out in October, Microsoft announced at IFA 2018. The company didn’t attach an exact release date to its announcement, saying only that it will be called the “October 2018 Update.” It seems Microsoft is embracing the month and year format for naming its major updates to Windows 10, which the company has committed to releasing twice a year. Here’s what Microsoft has released so far:Microsoft abandoned

What some may find to be the most compelling processor option among AMD’s second generation Ryzen Threadripper lineup, the Threadripper 2950X, is now available to purchase. Priced at $899, it comes in $100 less than what the previous generation Threadripper 1950X launched at last year. The Threadripper 2950X is one of four announced second generation Threadripper SKUs. Compared to that chip, the Threadripper 2950X offers half the cores/threads, and costs half as much. If you’re in the market for
