pcgamer wrote a new post, Check out the start of New Vegas recreated in Fallout 4 by modders, with more to come, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Fallout 4: New Vegas is a mod that aims to recreate New Vegas in the Fallout 4 Creation Engine, as the name suggests. Fallout 4: New Vegas has carried on, and now you can see some of that pay off. The video above shows the start of the game, in which Doc Mitchell (played by a new voice actor) wakes you up and guides you through customizing your protagonist. It’s not the best part of New Vegas to be honest, but it does show us what to expect from the new character models. There are some new anima

pcgamer wrote a new post, It took the first team to beat Destiny 2’s new raid 18 straight hours, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
The new raid in Destiny 2’s Forsaken expansion, Last Wish, launched yesterday at 10 am Pacific. This morning, a fireteam of six finally cleared the raid and slew Riven of a Thousand Voices after nearly 19 hours of skull-crushingly intense grinding. For comparison, the world first race for the first raid in the original Destiny, the beloved Vault of Glass, took roughly 14 hours. The first raid in Destiny 2, the Leviathan, took players just under six hours to crack. Last Wish smashed those records

pcgamer wrote a new post, This upcoming mod turns Borderlands 2 into Superhot, and it looks amazing, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
A mod that combines the two should be out in the “next few days” and, from the trailer above, it looks like a brilliant mash-up. Borderlands 2’s enemies can be bullet sponges, but here—just like Superhot—it’s one shot, one kill. It’s not shown in the trailer but, presumably, you’ll die in one shot too. The mod’s creator Blacktavius said on Reddit that it’ll be out over the next few days, and that you won’t be able to play with a gamepad. Keep an eye on the Borderlands 2 subreddit to find out whe

pcgamer wrote a new post, Treyarch promises to stop team-killing in Black Ops 4’s Blackout battle royale mode, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Judging by James, Chris, and Tyler’s impressions, Call of Duty: Black Ops 4’s battle royale mode, called Blackout, sounds like a lot of fun—but it’s not without problems. Many players have complained about team-killing, and argued that being able to pick up your teammate’s loot after shooting them in the back just encourages people to go rogue. Treyarch is listening, and says that it’s one of many issues it’s set to address during the beta. On Reddit, it said that it agreed that you shouldn’t be

Black-and-white nautical mystery Return of the Obra Dinn—the next game from the creator of Papers, Please—will be out this autumn/fall, developer Lucas Pope has announced. The Obra Dinn is the name of a ship that’s bobbed back into port having been lost at sea. “Insurance adjuster” immediately conjures up images of a paper-pushing game in the same vein of Papers, Please, but this looks to be much more interactive. Shaun found that there was plenty of cross-checking and unguided detective work in

Capcom has pushed back the PC release date of its Beat ‘Em Up Bundle—just a day after it was announced. Yesterday, Capcom said the bundle, which contains seven arcade beat ‘em ups, would be out next week. That’s still the case for consoles, but the Steam version will now be out at a later, as-of-yet unspecified date. The Steam version of Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle will have a later launch date than what was initially announced. We will have a new date for Steam soon and thank you for your patienc

pcgamer wrote a new post, Just Cause 4 shows off rainforest, jungle, and desert biomes in new video, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
The video starts by exploring the alpine biome, based on the Andes. The towering mountains will be the best place to practice using your wingsuit, with huge drops allowing for massive glides. Next, we get a peek at the rainforest, the largest biome on the map. Then it’s onto the grassland, based on the Pampas of Argentina. The last area is desert, where sandstorms will obscure your vision and make it difficult to travel.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Valve adds Dota 2 Ranked Roles queue for Dota Plus subscribers, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
The queue is now being added to Dota Plus, the game’s subscription-based service. In Ranked Roles, each player picks a role—support, mid lane, safe lane, etc—before queuing for a match. The matchmaker will then put five players together so that each team has one safe lane, one mid lane, one off lane, and two support players. Valve didn’t say in its blog post whether Ranked Roles is a permanent or temporary addition to Dota Plus. To kick off the new queue, any players that win five games will ear

Landing at Blackout’s Tilted Towers, whatever that ends up being, is also a valid strategy, I’m just not that great at no-scoping. A story-driven scenario called The Fall of Winterhome is arriving next week , and I’m ready for it. If you played the base game, Winterhome is a city you send your scouts to investigate, and in this expansion it sounds like we’ll finally get to learn what really happened there. We feel pretty good about hitting all the major points, though maybe we should work on ref

pcgamer wrote a new post, Destiny 2: Forsaken power leveling guide: How to grind efficiently, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 1 month ago
Hitting 500 powerNote that your power level is calculated using all the gear you own, not just what you have equipped. This will spike your power using only a few pieces of gear, allowing you to use small power rewards to fill the power gaps in your other gear. As a result, my small power rewards will drop at 522. If I’d cashed in my small rewards before doing Petra’s bounty, my small rewards would’ve dropped at 521, so I’ve basically doubled their value. If lots of your gear is below your max p

The Humble Monthly Trove is a collection of games available to active Humble Monthly subscribers, including Humble Originals and a selection of other DRM-free games—similar to Origin Access but with more of an indie bent. Until Sunday, nine of the games in the current Trove, including Alan Wake’s American Nightmare, Limbo, Arawkanoid, and Crescent Bay, are free for the taking. Instead, because these are specifically DRM-free versions, you’ll download and run standalone installers for each. Here’

Like Azerite Armor, Blizzard is looking to refine and build on the feature over time which will hopefully offset how routine they feel. Now, AMD tells us, it has almost entirely remedied that situation, and with our latest Maximum PC Build It, we put that to the test with a brand new rig. In short, we were given one mission statement for this build: Craft a rig housing Zen+ that looks good. As is typical of us here at Maximum PC, the storage we’ve chosen is, by far, the biggest expense in this build. But, oh boy, does it rip up the playbook when it comes to random 4K read and writes—arguably the most important metric when it com

The stink bomb has been the odd man out in Fortnite’s list of portable explosives. With the aid of our Fortnite stink bomb guide it’ll be a difficult item to pass up, even if it doesn’t smell great. There are a number of strategies that the stink bomb can support, even more so than some of the other explosives since its effects l

To put that in perspective, at the very first BlizzCon in 2005, Diablo 3 and StarCraft 2 were just distant dreams. This is expected to be the largest BlizzCon ever, topping last year’s number of over 35,000 in-person attendees. That’s become a trickier question nowadays, as Blizzard sees this time a year as an entire “BlizzCon season” leading up to the show. What can esports fans expect at BlizzCon 2018? So real talk, I’m giving some kind of Diablo announcement at the show this year a rating of

Capcom has smooshed together seven arcade beat ‘em ups into one meaty bundle. The Capcom Beat ‘Em Up Bundle was announced on the latest Nintendo Direct but is coming to PC as well as consoles. The bundle contains Final Fight, Captain Commando, Battle Circuit, Knights of the Round, Warriors of Fate, Armored Warriors, and The King of Dragons. If, like me, you spent the early ‘90s in a wee village where the pub’s fruit machine was the closest you got to an arcade, some of these might be unfamiliar.

Developers keep trying to bring back Jagged Alliance, without much success. There was the misguided MMO, Jagged Alliance Online, in 2012; the scaled back remake of Jagged Alliance 2, Jagged Alliance: Back in Action, also in 2012; and finally the Kickstarted Jagged Alliance: Flashback in 2013, which wasn’t very good either. Now there’s Jagged Alliance: Rage, developed by the same studio behind the MMO. It was announced last month and now there’s some gameplay footage to go along with it. Jagged A
