pcgamer wrote a new post, Battlefield 5 system requirements officially confirmed, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
The full Battlefield 5 system requirements have been posted on Reddit by Dice’s official account. It looks like we’ll need extra RAM in addition to an RTX card to take advantage of DirectX ray tracing (DXR). Check out our ray tracing explainer to find out what that really means for the game. Battlefield 5 is due out on November 20, so there’s still time to upgrade if you really want those reflections to look their best. pcgamer wrote a new post, The new trailer for horror game Man of Medan reveals its spooky curator, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
I’ve played the demo for Supermassive’s horror game Man of Medan a couple of times now. If you’ve heard of the PS4 game Until Dawn, it’s a similar mix of attractive young people falling afoul of ancient spooky happenings while things jump out at you. Now there’s a new trailer that shows off its Rod Serling-style narrator, as well a look at the game’s boat-based horror. The curator in the trailer above is played by actor Pip Torrens, who I feel like I recognise from about one hundred different TV

pcgamer wrote a new post, Losing heroes in Artifact isn’t always a disaster explains Magic creator Richard Garfield, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Richard Garfield describes the pain of losing a hero in Valve’s upcoming digital card game, Artifact. Though this is an understandable reaction from new players, high-level Artifact players may intentionally sacrifice their heroes for the opportunity to redeploy to a different lane. Garfield also mentions that hero upgrades are designed to last for the duration of a game, so the actions you’ve spent upgrading a hero aren’t necessarily wasted. Sometimes it’s worth playing an upgrade on a hero tha

pcgamer wrote a new post, Black Friday 2018 and Cyber Monday 2018 Newegg deals: What to expect this year, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the busiest times of the year for online retailers, and Newegg will likely have a few good deals on offer. What to expect from Newegg deals on Black Friday and Cyber MondayHistorically, Newegg has had fairly good Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales. Last year we noted over 100 good deals from the store, especially for graphics cards, power supplies, and SSDs. The store’s ‘Black November’ catalog is mostly underwhelming—$10 off an SSD, $20 off a stick of 16GB DDR4 RA

That distinction belongs to EVGA and its GeFor

Here are our recommendations for setting up a practical sit-stand desk for work and gaming across a number of budgets. Make a standing desk with what you have – FreeImage via Paul Houle on FlickrOne of the best ways to try out the benefits of a standing desk is to make one yourself. There are three important components to a standing desk for PC gamers: elevating the mouse, keyboard, and monitor(s). If you already have a decent sized desk you can save yourself a lot of money by buying a sit-stand

pcgamer wrote a new post, Game site pays £1 million to charities to ‘apologise’ for Red Dead Redemption 2 leaks, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
In February, Trusted Reviews published Red Dead Redemption 2 details from a leaked Rockstar document. Today, Variety reports that Trusted Reviews publisher TI Media has agreed to donate more than a million pounds to “unreservedly apologise” for the story. “We unreservedly apologise to Take-Two Games and we have undertaken not to repeat such actions again.” Red Dead Redemption 2 is out on consoles now, but we reckon there’s a strong chance it will come to PC eventually. There are clues hidden in

pcgamer wrote a new post, Inside Control, Remedy’s mind-bending shooter where anything seems possible, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
In some ways, Control is a classic Remedy game: a slick, cinematic third-person shooter with a strong narrative focus, a dark atmosphere, and a hint of the surreal. The Oldest House is a hub of sorts, with missions branching off from it. You’ll travel between realities and timelines like this frequently in Control, thanks to the mind-bending, multidimensional properties of the Oldest House. The Oldest House is an unpredictable setting, giving the team an opportunity to flex its imagination. I do

pcgamer wrote a new post, Sunset Overdrive on PC has been rated by the ESRB, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Earlier this year, a Korean rating board revealed the existence of a PC version of Xbox open world game Sunset Overdrive. Now, the ESRB has rated the game for Windows, suggesting an announcement is almost certainly in the works. Sunset Overdrive launched on Xbox One back in 2014, the work of Ratchet & Clank developer Insomniac Games, which recently made the excellent Spider-Man game on PS4. The ESRB, as is its job, lists some of what might be called ‘adult’ content in the game. We’ll keep you up

pcgamer wrote a new post, Fortnite gets balloons in v6.21 patch, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Balloons arrive in Fortnite today with the v6.21 patch. You can find balloons in chests, floor loot, vending machines, supply drops and loot llamas. The patch notes also underline what we reported yesterday on Fortnite’s glider re-deploy feature: it’s here to stay after a week of what are described as “positive results”. Fortnitemares ends this Sunday, which James reported on yesterday as well. James is praying for the cube’s death, and I am praying for him.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Fallout 76 dataminers uncover lots of new perk cards, including some for outlaws, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
The beta only arrived Tuesday but dataminers have already begun digging into Fallout 76’s files, and have unearthed some perk cards that we haven’t seen yet, including a few that will make engaging in bad behavior a bit easier. It’s worth noting that some or all of these datamined perk cards may not actually be in Fallout 76—game files often contain planned but ultimately unused features. A card called Penetrator certainly sounds useful: it removes accuracy penalties in VATS while targeting enem

During Bethesda’s stream of the Fallout 76 beta on Tuesday (from Australia), Pete Hines was asked how the beta was going. Hines recapped the issues with the BethesdaNet launcher and the fact that many players had to re-download the entire beta a second time. “We definitely knew we were going to have issues and bumps,” Hines said on the stream. In response, Bethesda extended the next scheduled beta to run a few extra hours. The next Fallout 76 beta session is scheduled for Thursday, November 1, f

pcgamer wrote a new post, If you like Call of Cthulhu, you’ll also like…, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Lovecraft’s influence stretches far and wide, but it doesn’t get much more blatant than Cyanide Studio’s adaptation of Call of Cthulhu. The base game comes with the Asylum scenario, sending players to an insane asylum in Paris during 1921. There’s no skill-building, but you’ll use every stat across the course of the game at least once, if you have it to begin with. If you fail, instead of simply taking damage or dying, you’ll suffer much more dramatic consequences, and not all of them involve bo

pcgamer wrote a new post, What videogame enemy scared you the most?, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Steven: I was going to say mimics from Prey, which are basically just those headcrabs but not as scary. Apollo 47: The scariest enemy for me is not so much scary in the Halloween sense. For several years, I was most scared of the Black Knights in Dark Souls. Even today, when I see them (and I know where they all are across the series), I still get scared and start panicking. Bo: Probably the single scariest moment for me (note: I’m a scaredy cat and don’t play many scary games) was a scripted ju

Dusk made a very strong impression when we looked at it last year, saying tha
