pcgamer wrote a new post, This week’s highs and lows in PC gaming, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
At BlizzCon this week, Blizzard announced that a remaster, Warcraft 3: Reforged , is coming next year—and obviously, I’m going to play that. Now if only someone could reforge gaming cafes that exclusively serve Bawlz and tower defense maps, I could properly be 18 again. Chris Livingston: Falling InIt’s great, after all this waiting, to get to play Fallout 76 on PC instead of just speculating about it. I’m really enjoying the perk system, too. I like Remedy’s style and I’m really game for a focus

After Nazjatar, players will venture to Mechagon, the city of the aforementioned android gnomes. In Nazjatar, players will encounter all new story quests while working their way to the Eternal Palace, the setting for 8.2’s next raid. Rise of Azshara will arrive after patch 8.1.5,

As is becoming tradition with these in-game events (see the rocket and cube summoning below), they’re usually the first indication about what’s coming in the next season, Fortnite Season 7 in this case. pcgamer wrote a new post, Fallout 76 supports ultrawide resolutions with a simple ini tweak, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
One of the things at the top of our list to confirm is whether ultrawide resolutions would work. First, the UI does not scale properly to support ultrawide and instead stretches the standard widescreen UI to fill the screen. We’re not out of the woods on ultrawide support, of course. Or it could put in a check to force the use of a supported aspect ratio. But for now at least, it’s possible to manually set other resolutions in Fallout 76 and have the game run fine.

pcgamer wrote a new post, Watch 20 minutes of Mutant Year Zero, the XCOM-like strategy RPG with a duck man, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
A pig, a duck, and a mutant lady walk into a camp full of angry ghouls. Look, these ghoul guys live out in the Zone, what survivors in Mutant Year Zero call the wasteland of this particular post-apocalypse. Lesson learned: in Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, as in XCOM, the turn-based strategy game that heavily inspired it, positioning your characters behind cover is vital to staying alive. Unlike XCOM, though, Mutant Year Zero is part RPG and part stealth game, and my real mistake was failing to

pcgamer wrote a new post, Rust now has hot air balloons and missiles that can shoot them down, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Rust, the survival game where you start by banging a rock against a tree and then progress to crafting automatic weapons, has opened up a new mode of travel that lets you take to the skies: hot air balloons. You’ll find them scattered around the map, and once they’re fueled you can fly wherever the wind carries you. Balloons should hold about four or five passengers, making them the ideal way to soar above the defenses of a fort you’d like to raid. You can purchase a deployable SAM site from sci

The sublime strategy game Into the Breach got a little better today with a small but important update that adds full controller support to the game. The update means that Into the Breach will work properly, and natively, with any Steam-supported controller. Hookup is easy: Just plug your controller in while the game is running, then mash a button and it will switch to controller mode. There is one minor catch: If you’ve been using a controller already via a custom Steam Controller config, you’ll

pcgamer wrote a new post, Warcraft 3 is being remastered, coming next year, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Warcraft 3, the seminal RTS that really kickstarted Warcraft as a major franchise and launched a little mod called DOTA, is being remastered. Called Warcraft 3: Reforged, this remaster will be coming “next year” and will feature an all new coat of paint, updating the graphics and animations to look stunningly hi-res (4K is supported) while still retaining that goofy Warcraft charm. Don’t worry though, as Reforged will also have an editor so you can still make your own maps and gamemodes. This wa

World of Warcraft: Classic, the recreation of the MMO when it launched in 2004, is coming summer 2019—and better yet, you won’t need to pay a separate subscription from your normal WoW one to play it. The good news is that you won’t actually have to wait that long to get a taste. Virtual ticket holders will be able to play a time-limited World of Warcraft: Classic demo starting today. World of Warcraft: Classic is something that players have been wanting for years, but Blizzard was hesitant to i

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 features a really cool tool where players can create their own custom paintjobs for their guns. But instead, Black Ops 4 players seem obsessed with making the Saug 9mm uzi look like various brands of power drills for some damn reason. The trend appears to have started two days ago with redditor johnny_no_smiles who first realized the uncanny likeness that the Saug has with the Bosch PSB 1800 LI-2cordless power drill. The bit caught on, and over the last day several memb

Undertale creator Toby Fox released a free, rather odd game yesterday called Deltarune, which those of you who are cleverer than I will notice is an anagram of Undertale. “I will say that basically, what you’re seeing here is not the world of Undertale. If everyone was happy in your ending, the people in the Undertale world will still be happy. “It’s just a game you can play after you complete Undertale, if you want to.” If you played Undertale, I don’t think I can make anything that makes you f

pcgamer wrote a new post, 2018 pop culture algorithm results in a Fallout 76 livestream with Ninja, Logic, and Rick and Morty, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
I feel like that’s what someone must have shouted into an enormous command console at Bethesda HQ to come up with this idea for a Fallout 76 livestream, which will feature top streamer Ninja, rapper-songwriter Logic, and Cartoon Network’s Rick and Morty (both voiced by Justin Roiland) all playing Fallout 76 together. That’s quite a collection of pop-culture icons, though to be fair they’re all involved in games, too. Logic, along with Ninja and most of the known universe, plays Fortnite, and not

Football Manager is consistently good, but we particularly liked this year’s edition, giving it a big score of 90 in our Football Manager 2019 review. As Joe says: “Whereas previous Football Manager games required Claudio Ranieri levels of tinkering to nail down personalised tactics, FM 19’s system simplifies and streamlines the process, recommending on-pitch roles along the way, with the option to autofill your best-suited squad once the strategy is in place. In conclusion, this year’s Football
