pcgamer wrote a new post, 12 years later, people are still making unbelievable Line Rider tracks, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Released one million years ago in 2006, Line Rider was impossible to ignore during the late ’00s. For high schoolers desperate for something better to do than listen to a middle-aged man tell them how to format paragraphs in Word, Line Rider was an escape. If you’re unfamiliar, Line Rider is a something of a primordial physics game. Set to post-rock group This Will Destroy You’s album S/T, this might be one of the greatest Line Rider films ever made. Released in August of this year, it’s only He

pcgamer wrote a new post, Let’s all de-stress for a minute by looking at beautiful Stardew Valley farms, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Nearly three years after release, Stardew Valley remains one of the most played games on Steam. Thanks to the Stardew Planner, you can draw a farm in your browser, and the candy colored designs people come up with and post to the FarmsofStardewValley subreddit put my heart at ease. Then there are the actual in-game creations people post to upload.farm, a repository of more than 136,000 farms. Let’s just look at some really nice farms for a minute. pcgamer wrote a new post, 9 of the rarest items in World of Warcraft history, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
In World of Warcraft, there’s rare and then there’s rare. So, in tribute to all those obsessive types out there, here are just a few of the rarest items in World of Warcraft. Heavenly Onyx Cloud SerpentAnother supremely rare mount, but also one that is totally achievable in-game, right now. Because somehow that dungeon has another rare drop that’s caught the eye of enterprising transmog lifers. That’s right: it took over seven thousand three hundred runs to see this item drop for the first time.

pcgamer wrote a new post, The Fallout 76 beta now locks the FOV and caps framerate at 63 fps, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Last week we were able to run some initial benchmarks of Fallout 76 to see how it fares on various GPUs. Today, with the second to last beta and a 30GB update in hand, we hopped back in to find Bethesda’s short-term fix to speed hacking. Previously, Fallout 76 would run at your display’s desktop refresh rate, up to 75Hz, or half the refresh rate on high-end gaming displays (eg, 72fps on a 144Hz display). Now, the maximum in-game framerate is 63fps as far as I can tell, slightly higher than 60 in

pcgamer wrote a new post, Cooler Master’s newest gaming headsets kick RGB lighting to the curb, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
I did a double take when Cooler Master sent over information about its newest gaming headsets, neither of which have RGB lighting. Cooler Master’s MH752 and MH751 are both a bit of an oddity in the gaming space, but in a good way. Instead of flashing lights and a gaudy design, Cooler Master appears to have kept things simple—even the model names are comparatively tame to some other gaming headsets that are out there. “No flashy lights or bizarre tribal logos—sleek, pitch-black styling keeps it c

If you’ve been waiting to acquire a nightclub in GTA Online, they’re all currently discounted by 30%. pcgamer wrote a new post, This Starship Troopers mod turns the movie’s big action scene into a Horde mode shootout, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Inspired by the terrible-but-secretly-brilliant ’90s B-movie Starship Troopers, the Troopers mod started enlisting future citizens when it launched a couple of weeks ago. It’s still in development, but it’s already off a promising start: Squad’s unit-based communications and logistics make a perfect backdrop for fighting endless waves of bugs. It looks and feels remarkably like a big action scene in the middle of the film. Of course, it’s not an official Starship Troopers mod, but developer Renn

pcgamer wrote a new post, Ark: Extinction goes live today, Ark: Survival Evolved is free to play for the week, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
The big Ark: Survival Evolved expansion Extinction is set to go live today, adding a brand new map and massive mega-dinosaurs to the game, and finally concluding the story that began, and will end, on the ruined world we call Earth. The dungeon-boss Titans are the centerpiece of Ark: Extinction, but it will also add new creatures like the balloon-like Gasbag, the frosty, flying Snow Owl, and the spine-firing Velonasaur. Existing Ark: Survival Evolved characters can be transferred from their curr

Corsair is wading into boutique territory with its latest gaming PC, which pairs a potent selection of hardware with what appears to be a premium build quality. The new Vengeance 5180 commands $2,399.99, so there’s no mistaking this for a budget box. Corsair is uniquely positioned to build a gaming desktop around many of its own parts, from core components like RAM and storage, to cooling and peripherals. The highlight of the build is the GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card. This is the middle card i

Monsters have invaded the island, as they are wont to do, and instead of working together to take them out, two teams of players will instead fight against each other and the monsters. These monsters are the same ones you’ve have been dealing with if you played during the Fortnitemares event. The event is finished in Battle Royale, but Save the World is having its own Fortnitemare with new quests and a boss battle. Blitz kicks up the pace of the battle royale scraps considerably. It’s N7 Day tomorrow, the annual celebration of all things Mass Effect. It’s also the release date for five big mod updates that each change a significant chunk of Mass Effect 3. First off, there’s Priority Earth Overhaul Mod, which fiddles around with Mass Effect 3’s last mission—everything from changes to enemy spawns to completely new cutscenes. Expanded Galaxy Mod is broader, restoring, reworking and adding new stuff like weapons, armour and missions across the entire game. A new war assets

pcgamer wrote a new post, Don’t panic, Diablo is probably going to be fine, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
The lavish cinematic trailer got me excited for the prospect of a big new PC Diablo game, and the sudden reversal of that expectation is one of the reasons why that cinematic trailer has nearly half a million downvotes right now. There’s the implication that Diablo might be cheapened by the existence of a mobile game. A year later Reaper of Souls came out and Reaper of Souls was great. Plus, parallel mobile games are increasingly common. A mobile game as part of a collection of new Diablo projec

Responding to an IGN article based on a Reddit post about a reportedly ‘huge hacking vulnerability’ in Fallout 76, Bethesda has stated to IGN that: “Many of the claims in the thread are either inaccurate or based on incorrect assumptions.” The Reddit thread, posted by a Reddit account created nine days ago, claims there are ‘no server checks to verify models or file integrity’ and that players can edit .esm files without the game doing any checks. Other potential actions hackers could take, the

pcgamer wrote a new post, The Joker and Harley Quinn are coming to PUBG, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
PUBG Corp and DC have teamed up to cram The Joker and Harley Quinn into PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, at least as skins. This version of the deranged duo is from the fascinatingly awful Suicide Squad. So far, PUBG Corp has only announced the pair of skins, which you can see in action in the trailer. Harley also has her trademark baseball bat, however, suggesting that new weapons or weapon skins are also coming. While Suicide Squad was not well received, it was at least considered a box office s

pcgamer wrote a new post, Check out the best of Humble’s Warhammer Week sale, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
Yes, it’s Warhammer Week over at Humble, knocking a whole bunch of fantasy and 40K adaptations down to cheapish. It barely scrapes the surface of the vast Warhammer library, but there are still loads of games vying for your attention. It’s astounding that the Skaven have another game where they’re in the spotlight, and it’s also very comforting because they’re wonderful. Total War: Warhammer 2 is the best Total War game that isn’t Shogun 2, and if you’ve only got space for one of Creative Assemb

The highly anticipated Fortuna update for Warframe is dropping this week. If you tire of completing bounties and raiding Corpus bases you can mine, fish, and capture animals to support a conservation project. “The game’s four quadrants, bases of enemy operations, are patrolled by giant robo-spiders, while mid- and small-size robot spiders appear across the giant terrain.” Digital Extremes has hinted that the giant robo-spiders may wake up and play a part in future challenges. pcgamer wrote a new post, League of Legends characters form a kickass K-pop group, perform ‘live’ at World Championships, on the site GoGame.com 8 years ago
K/DA is a League of Legends pop group made up of Ahri, Evelynn, Kai’Sa, and Akali, all of them LoL characters and thus not actual people who actually exist. It’s a remarkable technical accomplishment regardless of its LoL connections, but the connection is definitely there: The virtual singers were showcasing new K/DA skins that became available for purchase over the weekend. Riot doubled down on that with the release of a full-length, neon spectacle music video that puts the skins front-and-cen
