  • As promised, the Fallout 76 beta had its fair share of bugs, and while the beta has now ended, it hasn’t quite stopped causing problems. Some PC users are reporting that the Bethesda.net launcher won’t let them uninstall the game. A Reddit user cancelled their Amazon pre-order and then found themselves unable to uninstall the beta. This isn’t the first issue that seems to be connected to the Bethesda.net launcher, which the publisher opted to use instead of other platforms. One error forced some

  • The smart TV functionality can benefit PC users, too—you could have Netflix playing on top of your Civilization VI game, for example. 4K TVs have only started to hit mainstream over the past year or two, and the manufacturing costs continue to decline. Because of these two factors, you can expect this year’s 4K TV sales to be just as good as last year’s, and perhaps even better. • I thought Warframe: Fortuna’s weighty anthem was a stylish cover of an existing track, but it’s an original composition created for Fortuna, and has been stuck in my head since last week. The rousing chant of the oppressed Solaris is available now on Bandcamp for a buck, and you can listen to the whole thing in the embed. In addition to Warframe scores, he also writes music for Heartland, Magnum PI, Hawaii Five-0 and MacGyver. If you want to see it from a few hundred feet above you’ll need our g

  • Yesterday was a bit awkward as companies and brands attempted to commemorate Armistice Day via fairly tacky Twitter posts. A silly Spartan and fictional characters like Metal Gear Solid’s Solid Snake (since taken down) honouring other fictional characters sort of undercut the day a little bit. So on the 11th hour of the 100 year anniversary of the Armistice, a bunch of players took a break from their relentless war and just hung out on a beach. You can watch the brief break in the battle over on

  • Mouse and keyboard support is coming to Xbox One. For instance, I’m currently enjoying Forza Horizon 4 through the Xbox Games Pass, despite playing it on my PC. Mouse and keyboard support also evens the playing field in cross-platform multiplayer games like Fortnite, which will be the first game to boast it on Wednesday. The gulf between traditional console controllers and mouse and keyboard has frequently been used to excuse the absence of cross-platform support, so it’s one less barrier to wor

  • Supernatural ghost-hunting romp HellSign launched on Steam early access on Friday, reminding us that haunted houses aren’t just for Halloween. Actually, I’m OK with the investigation bit, it’s the not getting killed by giant bugs part that I’ve been struggling with. There are lots of different weapons, so I might have to start using something a bit more forgiving. Developer Ballistic Interactive is hoping to reach 1.0 in about a year, but only if things go according to plan. HellSign is definite

  • Back in July, Joe wrote about Yakuza Kenzan making progress via the open source PS3 emulator, RPCS3. Above, you can check out the game running in 4K, courtesy of the emulator team’s YouTube channel. While the environments show their age, the character models look pretty decent considering this is an ancient PS3 game. Yakuza Kenzan is one of the entries that got away from Western players—Sega has never localised the 2008 spin-off, along with another period-set Yakuza game, 2014’s Ishin. I persona

This might be the Holy Fury expansion’s single greatest feature, but you probably wouldn’t find it unless you were looking. ‘Animal Kingdom’ is a hidden setting for Holy Fury’s random maps. • On an average day, about a dozen new games are released on Steam. HellSignSteam pageRelease: November 10Developer: Ballistic InteractivePrice: $14.99Launched into Early Access last week, HellSign is an isometric “investigative action” RPG with a strong horror bent. Interestingly, it’s also one of the few Australian-developed games set in Australia and featuring Australian accents – this is a horror game, after all. Previously, you could only buy it direct from creator Jason Rohrer, who you might know from The Castle Doctrine. The only way I can travel between Skyrim and Solstheim is by paying a ship captain to ferry me between the cities of Raven Rock (in Solstheim) and Windhelm. In The Arena, you and a group of friends take on rival crews with the aim of amassing the most loot. It’s all in service of impressing a new trading company, called the Sea Dogs—presumably they’ll be the ones totting up the treasure at the end. Essentially, it’s Sea of Thieves PvP condensed down onto a smaller map where you’re given specific goals, and I can see that sort of

It follows two incidents of Dota 2 pros using racist taunts against Chinese teams. • More than four years after it was first revealed at E3 2014, and following numerous delays, Crackdown 3 has been given what is hopefully an actual release date: February 15. We already knew it was coming in February, but having a specific date makes it less likely that publisher Microsoft will delay it for the fourth time. Having said that, we got a concrete release date last year and the game ended up missing that by about 15 months, so anything is possible. Also announced at Microsoft’s X018 y
