  • Praey for the Gods, a chilly action adventure with more than a hint of Shadow of the Colossus, launches on Steam Early Access tomorrow, following a successful Kickstarter in 2016. While Praey for the Gods looks promising, the name is like a knife to my eyes. It was originally called Prey for the Gods, but Bethesda decided to throw its weight around and get litigious. The game was funded by Kickstarter backers, and the team didn’t want to spend that money on a legal battle. No Matter Studios says

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Champions will offer a “robust tutorial,” matches and “challenges” against the AI, casual and ranked matches against other players, and “full narrative campaigns.” “The response for the physical and digital game has already bee

  • Not everyone is in favor of the movement, however, including Alfons Hörmann, president of DOSB, the German Olympic Sport Federation. “Esport does not exist,” Hörmann said, as reported by Faz.net (Google translated). Interestingly, the DOSB recently adopted a resolution that actually embraces an element of esports, to a limited extent. But not “as a separate sporting activity,” or as something that meets the criteria for DOSB support. Hörmann’s reluctance is blunt, but esports does have at least

  • As Epic attempts to carve out a digital retail kingdom, we’re probably going to see more Epic Games Store timed exclusives like Metro Exodus and The Division 2. THQ Nordic, which acquired Koch Media and Metro publisher Deep Silver in 2018, says the decision to sell the post-apocalyptic shooter exclusively on Epic’s platform was Koch Media’s, but it isn’t completely ruling out similar deals for other games. Despite the acquisition last year, Koch Media is still separate from THQ Nordic and contro

  • In PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, and most multiplayer games, there are few things as unpleasant as being murdered by a streamer. But unless their name’s a giveaway, how can you tell you’ve taken out a streamer? That’s where PUBG Report helps. It made returning to the fort a chore, and one I imagine would only become worse the longer I spent with the game. The reason Fort Tarsis is currently a no-running zone is because BioWare wanted players to feel human, in contrast to how superhuman they feel when piloting the Javelins. “We want it to feel like walking”, Anthem producer Mark Darrah told GamesRadar. • Free DLC is coming to Resident Evil 2 Remake starting in February, Capcom has confirmed. Hopefully, Resident Evil 2 will be more like the latter. Resident Evil 2 isn’t a long game, unless you play it in 30 minute slices because that’s all your timid heart can handle. If you’re already hungry for another remake, Capcom hasn’t announced plans for Resident Evil 3, but the publisher is apparently open to it. Over the weekend, she shared some more encouraging impressions on Twitter:Just watched a cut of #Witcher with Ben, and the verdict is in: this show is not for 5-year-olds. • Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil 2 appears to be doing well for itself on PC, already boasting more than three times the number of players of the previous mainline entry in the series, Resident Evil 7. As captured on Reddit, the remake has a current all-time peak of 74,227, which is almost four times the 20,449 players that Resident Evil 7 managed over two years ago. If you’ve had The Division sat there on uPlay and have wanted to give it a go, this makes it a surprisingly good time to do so. The reason, I’m guessing, is that The Division is currently one of the Humble Monthly games, along with Yakuza 0 (that’s a steal for $12). It takes about 20 hours to reach level 30 and access The Division’s endgame content, and I found players across all level brackets all weekend. That’s not bad for a game that’s been around for this long. At this point, if you’ve ever
