  • The system requirements for the recently-announced PC versions of Detroit: Become Human, Beyond: Two Souls and Heavy Rain are now out, and they all recommend a GTX 1080 or equivalent. The minimum requirements for the three games all match, and they include an i5-2400 @ 3.4GHz or equivalent, a GTX 660 or equivalent, and 4GB of RAM. That leaves a big gap between minimum and recommended, so my guess is the recommended specs relate to playing in 4K. The Epic Games Store page for Detroit: Become Huma

  • Sekiro: Shadow Die Twice’s outstanding combat is clearly a hit with players—as of writing, more than 120,000 people are playing it, and its daily peak is more than 125,000, making it the fourth most-played game on Steam today ahead of Rainbox Six Siege. It’s a monumental launch, bigger even than Devil May Cry 5’s, which was itself Capcom’s second biggest PC launch ever, topping out at around 85,000 concurrent players, according to Steam Charts. • It’s been a huge week for Apex Legends, which added a new character, Octane, on Tuesday alongside its first Battle Pass. But behind the scenes, the dev team have been improving stability too, and the latest patch should fix the majority of crashes players were experiencing on PC. • Into the Breach, our game of the year for 2018, is a masterpiece of simplicity. But it wasn’t always that way: it initially had city building, a tech tree and unit damage that persisted between missions, developer Subset Games has revealed. “So maybe 60 percent of the game, we just dropped it all and [said], ‘Okay, it’s just a bunch of missions in a row. Davis and Ma talked about just how much they struggled during development—the pair were “very close to giving up on the game”, they said. “It w

Blizzard introduced an “endorsements” feature to Overwatch last summer that enables players to rate others who are good teammates. “If you’re not consistently getting endorsements, if you slip up, you’re not going to get endorsements and your level is going to slip,” Miller said. To help ensure that it was on the right track, Blizzard also “put out a server to see if players perceived the endorsement system to be the reason for the decrease in negative behavior,” she said (via Variety). We are currently focusing on the production and promotion of Cyberpunk, so we do not want to comment on further projects.” That strategy was laid down three years ago, in a very vague breakdown of the four-year period between 2017 and 2021: The document says that CD Projekt will, among other things, release Cyberpunk 2077 and “another AAA RPG title” in that time frame. 2021 rea

The Mortal Kombat lore hole is a deep one, but the crash-course is that Sub-Zero offed Scorpion so Scorpion, after being resurrected by Quan Chi, offed Sub-Zero. Of course, missing from that announcement is whether RTX features will be available on day-of-launch or added in a post-launch patch. Speed Freeks is a new 40K tabletop spin-off that pits two teams of bloodthirsty, gasoline-guzzling orks against each other in brutal, vehicular battles. The orks of 40K love their junkyard vehicles, and you can field a lot of them in the regular tabletop game, where the titular speed-addicted orks fight alongside the rest of the army.
