It’s promoting healthy eating, which is nice, but also murdering your enemies with poison, which is maybe less nice. There’s a new limited time mode, too, where the map is slowly consumed by lava. Nothing here quite as exciting as giant hamster balls, but the ol’ poison dart trap is a classic, perfect for any dungeon or forgotten temple. Epic’s going to be doing more work on it, too, with the ability to shoot through the glass coming soon. Fortnite 8.20 is live now, and you can check out the ful

pcgamer wrote a new post, The first Streets of Rage 4 gameplay trailer is a serious blast from the past, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 3 months ago
The retro-brawler Streets of Rage 4 was announced last August, and initial impression were good: A “late ’80s punk rock aesthetic” as viewed through a ’90s brawler that existed only in fantasy, we said in our September preview, with “a ton of beauty and promise.” Now it’s time for the rest of us to see it in action. The reveal trailer contained a brief flash of in-game brawling but this is the first full-on gameplay trailer to be released, and even though I was never a serious fan of the beat-em

pcgamer wrote a new post, Johnny Cage kicks Johnny Cage’s ass in the best Mortal Kombat 11 trailer yet, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 3 months ago
Most of the Mortal Kombat 11 trailers we’ve enjoyed over the past couple of months have focused on fatalities—brain ejections, movie magic, whatever the hell you call this—but one of them was all about the story: A “temporal crisis” with an incomprehensible menagerie of characters running around (including two Johnny Cages) that was awfully hard to follow. Luckily, we’ve now got a new story trailer that helps clarify the situation somewhat. It’s great because, in case there was any doubt, it ful

The game’s red-slashed greyscale visual style is striking, but the combat is what it’s all about. But they aren’t invulnerable, and the Steam listing suggests that you might not be able to save-scum your way to a flawless victory. “Experience the tension of every decision with permanent death, roguelite features, deadly missions and limited resources. Every decision counts and comes with a sacrifice, whether it be resources or in blood,” it says. It’s probably too early to say that Othercide loo

pcgamer wrote a new post, How to get the Chatterbox P90 exotic SMG in The Division 2, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 3 months ago
One of the most coveted Exotics in The Division 2 at the moment is The Lost Chatterbox. A Hyena-modified P90, the Chatterbox has ludicrous abilities that make it one of, if not the, best SMG in the game. Unfortunately, as you’d expect for such a powerful weapon, getting it can be a royal pain that relies mostly on just dumb luck. In these crates, you’re looking for three parts: the SMG Loaded Canister, the SMG Creative Magazine, and the SMG Modified Mods. As long as you’re patient and a little b

pcgamer wrote a new post, If Dwarf Fortress sells millions on Steam, its creators will give the money away ‘as fast as possible’, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 3 months ago
“We’ve just been assuming this risk [by making Dwarf Fortress] ever since I quit my math job. The impetus for selling Dwarf Fortress, and the promise Adams says he’s made to fans, is that he’ll save up enough money to take care of himself. I ask about what I think is a real possibility: Dwarf Fortress sells a million copies at $20 each. His works in a way that pushes him to make Dwarf Fortress, and after more than a decade, it still provides all the fulfillment he needs. I don’t know.

pcgamer wrote a new post, The Humble Hot Date Bundle is packed with dating sims and ‘suggestive party games’, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 3 months ago
How about a hot date? Or how about a Hot Date Bundle, the latest collection of “visual novels, dating sims, and suggestive party games” from the bundlers over at Humble? But that’s a pretty cheap date. Bump it up to beat-the-average and you’ll also take home the sex game stalwart Ladykiller in a Bind, the feline seduction sim Purrfect Date, and Genital Jousting, the popular party game about dicks. The Humble Hot Date Bundle is available until April 9.

It’s likely you’d heard of Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines before last week’s sequel announcement, even if you’ve never played it. If you missed out at any point between 2004 and now, GOG has it for $5/£3.79 right now in its Spring sale. I’ll admit it, reader: Bloodlines is on my pile of shame, and I’ve owned the GOG version for about three years, installing it on various laptops and never quite setting aside the time to give it a try. Chris’s preview of Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines 2 r

pcgamer wrote a new post, Grab this Ryzen gaming laptop with a 256GB NVMe SSD and RX 560X for $594, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 3 months ago
Spending over a grand and even several thousands dollars potent notebook will always be an option, and if you’re after the best gaming laptop money can buy, those are territories you will find yourself in. The same laptop currently sells on Newegg for that price, and is $705.99 on Best Buy. You’re not getting anything crazy here, like an RTX GPU, but the specs are pretty good for the money. Specifically, this 15.6-inch laptop wields an IPS display powered by a Ryzen 3 3550H processor, 8GB of DDR

The past half-decade has been something of a renaissance for Cyan, the studio best known for creating the Myst series (and inspiring the many, many lookalikes that followed). Today the studio returned to the crowdfunding well once more with a campaign for its new game, first teased a year ago, called Firmament. For a taste of what he brings to the Cyan table, you can download and listen to them free on Bandcamp. Firmament is being developed primarily for VR but will be playable on conventional P

Here’s a snippet of the summary:Steampunk conspiring againt XV century Europe, Aliens fighting Djiniis, Orc fighting Morloks, Uruks fighting agains Alien Pirates! There’s a hint of Ultimate Epic Battle Simulator, but Paradigm Worlds seems to be more than just tossing random armies against e

pcgamer wrote a new post, Anthem’s new patch lets you (finally) access your equipment without a loading screen, on the site GoGame.com 7 years, 3 months ago
One of Anthem’s biggest sins, for me, was having to sit through a loading screen just to access the Forge, where I could change my javelin’s weapons and equipment. I want to see my loot whenever I damn well please, and having to walk to a specific location in Fort Tarsis and sit through a loading screen just to access it was aggravating. Available now, patch 1.0.4 includes several great quality of life updates, tweaks to Anthem’s ongoing issues with loot, and some new endgame modes to hopefully

Asus is adding another “overclockable” monitor to its lineup, the latest entry being the ROG Swift PG278QE. Like its IPS counterpart, the PG278QE is a 27-inch monitor with a 2560×1440 resolution and G-Sync support. From what we can tell, this is essentially another updated version of the ROG Swift PG278Q. Further confusing matters is the release of the ROG Swift PG278QR, but some users complained of color banding issues with that monitor. That could be where the new PG278QE comes into play, assu

With the launch of its prequel episode and final bit of DLC, Episode Ardyn, that’s Final Fantasy 15 over as of today. Because this is Final Fantasy 15, you can’t just play the DLC; you’ve got to watch some backstory, too. Luckily, the Episode Ardyn animated prologue isn’t quite as long as the gorgeous and completely rubbish Kingsglaive. Though it was cut short, Final Fantasy 15 had a good run. Episode Ardyn is available now on Steam for £8/$10.

If you’re in the market for a great pre-built gaming PC, here’s a tempting offer for you. Right now Amazon is selling a CyberpowerPC Gamer Extreme with an RTX 2080, an i7-9700K, 16GB of RAM and 240GB SSD/1TB HDD for a very reasonable $1599, saving you $170 off the list price. Frankly, we think you’d struggle to build a PC this powerful yourself, especially as it comes with liquid cooling, Windows 10 installed, and a cheap and cheerful keyboard and mouse. We do know that the RAM speed is 2400Mhz
