Eurogamer:It’s in this attention to detail that Shadow of Mordor reveals itself to be concerned with more than just lopping heads off overconfident orcs. PlayStation Lifestyle:Overall, there is simply too much to cover in Shadow of Mordor and this is one of its greatest assets. 9/10Venture Beat:At its core, Shadow of Mordor is a fresh, exciting game. 8.25/10Average Score: 8.8Middle-earth

  • This week, we will see the conclusion of The Walking Dead: Season Two with the release of Episode 5: No Going Back. Here they are:Lee teaches Clementine to shoot (Season One – Episode 3: Long Road Ahead)This was one of the major turning points in Season One for me. Her innocent demeanor back then compared to her willingness to do just about anything in Season Two is truly memorable. • We got a chance to sit down with John Smedley, President of SOE, and chat about their upcoming titles like H1Z1, as well as their successful All Access program for PC, which gives player unlimited access to premium content in all of their games. Of course, the burning question was if All Access would ever make its way to the PS4, especially since we already have DCUO, and PlanetSide 2 coming later this year, and H1Z1 announced for it as well. Our games can run on PC or PlayStation 4. If a PC pla

  • The internet is having a stupid reaction to the news that GameStop is going to offer a credit card. Destructoid reported yesterday that GameStop was going to roll out a credit card with “a really high interest rate.” The other thing I hear people complaining about is that you’re pushing a credit card on kids, and that’s wrong! My only issue with the GameStop credit card is that PowerUp Rewards members are supposedly automatically approved. A credit check should be run, and if you don’t have esta

  • So today, Media Molecule released a video of their new PS4 project. A funky beatAgain, at the PS4 unveiling event, Media Molecule’s tech demo featured a real groovy beat. There’s certainly a clue within this part 1, and I don’t think Media Molecule is trying to give us a video game design lesson. Even if this video is, indeed an error, it’s clear that Media Molecule’s new PS4 game is musical-based. And I’m sure all of this has something to do with the PS Move tech demo shown back in February 201

  • A Xenoverse contains multiple metaverses. A metaverse contains multiple multiverses. I was expecting footage from Dragon Ball and GT as well. Hopefully, Bandai Namco sheds some more light Dragon Ball Xenoverse, as I’d love to know all the various storylines included in this fighter. The trailer doesn’t specify a release date, however, this will be the first Dragon Ball Z game that will be available on both next-gen systems, the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

  • Following Kingdom Hearts 3 initial reveal at last year’s E3, series game director Tetsuya Nomura admitted it was probably a little premature to show off a trailer. Speaking to Famitsu (via Siliconera), Square Enix’s Final Fantasy brand director Shinji Hashimoto confirmed that information on Kingdom Hearts 3 will not be shared at E3. “We are working diligently on [Kingdom Hearts 3], but I think releasing new information will still take some time,” Hashimoto said. “We included a small part regardi

  • The crossover that just wasn’t meant to be: Final Fantasy x Pokemon. Two of the longest-running and most successful JRPG franchises of all time on the same screen? It might just be too much for fans to handle. Luckily, artist Andrew Ryan took the risk and recast the characters of Final Fantasy 7, 8 and 10 as Pokemon trainers over at his DeviantART page (presumably after dooming Rapture in his role in BioShock), resulting in a hybrid packing enough nostalgia to give even Kingdom Hearts a run for

  • The indie game movement has brought about a surge of interesting, real-world experiences to the medium. Always Sometimes Monsters is at its best when it explores everyday life at its worst. Large portions of Always Sometimes Monsters shine as explorations of day-to-day American life, but it devolves into silliness more often than I preferred. Beyond that, there’s a general lack of polish that’s hard to ignore, even with a small indie game like this. Some odd story choices and hard-to-ignore issu

  • Every month, fans anxiously wait for the announcement of what their free games will be for that month, assuming they’re subscribed to Xbox Live Gold. First up is Dark Souls. If you haven’t yet played Dark Souls, this is the time to do it. Dark Souls has you traversing the realm of Lordran as a Chosen Undead in hopes of lifting the curse. Next is Charlie Murder, a game I admittedly never played, and hope to rectify that in June.

Uncovered by entering the Konami Code into the game’s website (click the little glowing window), SOE offers a brief gameplay trailer along with an encrypted, pixelated image that the fine folks at Reddit are working to solve. Microsoft revealed during the call that it had sold in (read: shipped, not sold to consumers) two million Xbox consoles in the quarter ending March 31. Last week, Microsoft revealed that it has shipped over five million units since its launch in November. 311,000 Xbox One units were sold in the United States during the month of March. Compa

  • For the most part, I use hearing to know when to dodge his attacks. After a few of his swings, you learn his growl and sword speed – to the point that you don’t even need to watch it happen. The best place to stand near him is to his side or directly behind him. Always keep a little stamina ready for if he tries to stomp you. His swing arc forward will hit you even if you’re behind him if you don’t dodge, he has a massive back swing.

Picking up where things left off, the second episode of this dark, gritty adventure takes place immediately after the massive cliffhanger of Episode One: Faith. Smoke & Mirrors is considerably lighter on the action compared to the prior episode, but the increased emphasis on the actual investigation is a welcomed change of pace. W
