gamesradar wrote a new post, Overwatch Anniversary free weekend event: 8 top tips to start your winning streak, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Overwatch is marking its first birthday this week, and as part of the Anniversary celebrations there’s a free Overwatch weekend running from May 26 to 29. The in-game prompts do a great job of nudging you in the right direction, giving a clear indication of when your ranks could really use a Support hero or a turret builder. Translation: If you’re chasing after kills instead of prioritising the objective, you’re not doing it right. Takedowns will only go so far in Overwatch, because the win cond

gamesradar wrote a new post, Twin Peaks S3.04 review: “Another wild, unpredictable episode”, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
A ghostly guide linked to the Black Lodge tells him which one-armed bandits will pay out, earning him over $20,000. But when she sees the sack of money she calms down, relieved that they’ll be able to pay someone back. In Twin Peaks we finally meet the elusive Sheriff Truman, although it’s not the one we were expecting. This is Twin Peaks at its most idiosyncratic, and I can’t quite put my finger on whether it’s amazing or terrible. Another wild, unpredictable episode, adding to an already deep

gamesradar wrote a new post, Cannes 2017: Tangerine director Sean Baker is back with Insta-classic The Florida Project, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
And yet The Florida Project is a gigantic step up. Watching their life-affirming high jinks, it’s hard not to think of the young Antoine Doinel’s rambunctious antics in The 400 Blows. What scant plot there is follows the narrowing of Halley’s options as she pinballs from one noisy confrontation to the next. Just as Tangerine made headlines for its iPhone angle, The Florida Project is attracting column inches because Baker discovered Vinaite, a dazzlingly authentic talent, on Instagram. Superbly

gamesradar wrote a new post, Games with bespoke soundtracks allow you to create memories to go along with the music you listen to, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
You wouldn’t think a five-year-old music score to a barely remembered PS3 shooter is essential listening in 2017. It’s the perfect example of how an original soundtrack can help a game outlive its usual sell-by date. The usual conversation about songs in games tends to focus on licensed tracks. Billie Jean in Vice City and Goldfinger’s Superman in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater are two classic examples of songs that go on to define memories of the games they’re in. A custom score, on the other hand, has

gamesradar wrote a new post, The new Red Dead Redemption 2 screens might have a few clues – here’s what people have found so far, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Rockstar has announced a delay to Red Dead Redemption 2, so ‘boo!’ This might be Red Dead Redemption 2’s main heroThis post makes a pretty strong argument that we might have a main character, possibly not the the only character but this guy seems to be the most prominently featured cowboy so far. The trees might suggest at least one Red Dead Redemption 2 locationLot’s of people have noticed the size of the trees. Could Red Dead Redemption 2 visit Blackwater again? While we wait to see what else

gamesradar wrote a new post, Twin Peaks S3.03 review: “Striking, strange, and slightly uneven”, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Dale Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan) falls through a starry void and finds himself in a part of the Black Lodge we haven’t seen before. It was worn by Laura Palmer and Teresa Banks before they died, and if The Secret History of Twin Peaks is to be believed, was even owned by disgraced president Richard Nixon at one point. It’s worth noting that a substance coveted and consumed by Black Lodge spirits called garmonbozia—a physical manifestation of pain and suffering—looks like creamed corn. This is a dee

gamesradar wrote a new post, Universal unveil their MCU-style connected universe: say hello to Frankenstein and The Invisible Man, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Everything needs a connected universe these days, even Frankenstein. Universal have launched their own MCU-style universe, titled Dark Universe, with a video showcasing classic gods and monsters, as well as a photo of the key cast – including Johnny Depp and Javier Bardem – before their step into their spooky roles. What we know so far is that the connected universe will revolve around Russell Crowe’s Dr. Jekyll (or Mr. Hyde on a particularly bad day), with Johnny Depp playing The Invisible Man

Zack Snyder is set to step down as Justice League director due to a family tragedy, with Joss Whedon, director of The Avengers and Avengers: Age of Ultron, taking over. Snyder revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he would be taking a break to be with his family after the suicide of his daughter, Autumn, in March. Deborah Snyder – wife of Zack, and producer on Justice League – will also be stepping back. I’m having a hard time.”Joss Whedon – recently announced as writer and director of Warner

LawBreakers, an FPS designed by Cliffy B and set in a universe where the moon has exploded and the world is covered in gravity anomalies, is coming to PS4 this year. He was a prominent developer at Epic Games, where he helped shape Unreal, Unreal Tournament, and Gears of War. After taking a short hiatus from games, he’s back with LawBreakers. It’s also dropped the free-to-play model, and will cost $30 at launch on PS4. I say if it feels like return to the days of Unreal Tournament married with m

Red Dead Redemption 2 is missing its first release date. Rockstar Games revealed that the open-world western is now set to hit PS4 and Xbox One in spring of 2018 rather than fall of 2017, as was originally announced (still no word on a PC version) Rockstar explained that, since RDR2 will be its first game built solely for this generation of consoles, “some extra time is necessary to ensure that we can deliver the best experience” to fans. So that stinks. But we do have these lovely new screensho

Welcome to Hope County, Montana. Ubisoft has released a series of short, live-action teasers for Far Cry 5, and it looks like the game will be a Western after all – though more modern day in its presentation as opposed to Wild West. Sidenote in case you were wondering: Ubisoft has a tendency to make their videos region-specific, so we’ve embedded ones that may not be in English, but you should be able to view. All the videos contrast beautiful scenery with glimpses of violence, making them simul

gamesradar wrote a new post, The Uncharted movie now stars Tom Holland as kid Drake, and it’s inspired by the flashbacks from Uncharted 3, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 3 months ago
Uncharted 4 showed Nathan Drake as an aging adventurer, but the Uncharted film adaptation is going in the opposite direction with Tom Holland. Deadline Hollywood reports that the long-in-development Uncharted film will now be led by the youthful star of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and the story is inspired by teenage Drake meeting Sully for the first time in Uncharted 3. I was never excited about the idea of an Uncharted movie before now; the games are quite cinematic enough. But I have always wante

Yup, it turns out that not even the critical flop that was Terminator: Genisys can kill the long-running sci-fi franchise about killer robots from the future. The Hollywood star turned governor turned Hollywood star again told ScreenDaily during a recent interview that he has signed on with Cameron’s Terminator sequel, which was revealed earlier this year. For Destiny 2, Bungie is bidding farewell to one of its strangest storytelling tools; never again will you unlock a Grimoire Card. Grimoire Cards are unlocked in-game by finding dead Ghosts or making progress toward larger goals but you have to log on to Bungie’s site to actually read them. Destiny 2 world design lead Steve Cotton told us at the reveal event last week that Bungie has shifted the Grimoire’s narrative load to in-game methods this time around. gamesradar wrote a new post, American Gods S1.04 review: “Manages to fool us by leaving everything unsaid”, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 3 months ago
Emily Browning’s performance as Laura Moon is founded on that sweet Laura we’ve seen in flashbacks, who manages to fool us by leaving everything unsaid. In life she’s logical, with a cold inclination to look at the bigger picture and therefore practically negate responsibility when faced with her various misdeeds. Once she’s risen from the grave her love – if you can call it that – for Shadow pushes her onward. However, that’s not because Shadow is trying to make her something she’s not, but bec
