gamesradar wrote a new post, Nintendo changes its Switch online service plans, delays paid version to 2018, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
When it was announced that Nintendo Switch would require a paid subscription to access online features, it ruffled some feathers. Nintendo Switch Online (which is both what the service does and its proper name) will now be free until 2018. No longer will subscribers be limited to a single game per month – instead, those who pay into Nintendo Switch Online will be granted an all-you-can-play buffet. As the company told Kotaku, “Nintendo Switch Online subscribers will have ongoing access to a libr

gamesradar wrote a new post, Get Star Wars Battlefront free, plus all 4 expansions, by signing up for a year of PS Plus (Europe only), on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Welp, I’m packing my bags and cancelling my PS Plus subscription, because I want to be eligible for this: Sony and EA have partnered up and are giving away free copies of Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition to anyone in the EU who buys 12 months of PS Plus (provided they aren’t already subscribed). If you’re wondering how the economics of this work out, a 12-month subscription to PS Plus costs £40. Star Wars Battlefront Ultimate Edition – which contains the base game, plus all four expansions

gamesradar wrote a new post, “The other person didn’t matter. Dave was going to die” – GR+’s favourite moments from playing Friday the 13th: The Game, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
#PS4share pic.twitter.com/WcW0mPJGVvJune 1, 2017The thing is, when you die early in Friday the 13th, you don’t go and make a cup of tea. It all ended in tears but for a few glorious moments, it was the tensest slasher movie we’d ever seen. Thus when Dave whispered ‘I’m going to hide in this tent’ I had a pretty good idea where he’d be. “He’s going, he’s going!”. Tricky while one of your group is playing Jason, and singing as they smash all the windows around you.

So suppress your eye-rolling reflex when I say The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild might have already proven itself as the next Dark Souls. If you’ve played the game, you already know why that’s exciting – if not, read our The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild review. If that’s what developers take away from Zelda: Breath of the Wild, I’m excited to see what comes out in three years in the open-world genre.” You can’t overstate how important refinement and polish are to most great Nintendo

gamesradar wrote a new post, Exclusive: Watch the opening scene to Fear the Walking Dead season 3, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Fear the Walking Dead returns to our screens this Sunday and we’ve got a special treat for fans. You can watch the opening scene for the third season right here before anyone else and get a taste of the undead fun to come. There’s no sign of Nick or Luciana but that might be a good thing for them considering the way the others are being pushed around. On the other hand, with all the dead zombies littering the surrounding area, the only safe place could be on the other side of that fence… even

Need for Speed: Payback’s release date isn’t until November 10, but you can hit the road with its reveal trailer right now. Need for Speed: Payback isn’t officially a Fast & Furious game but it’s an easy mistake to make with all the Hollywood action and supercars slamming into things. It’s not all flash, though: EA says Payback has “the deepest customization” ever included in a Need for Speed game. If pricey cars aren’t your thing, you can efind an old junker and tune it up into a high-speed rac

gamesradar wrote a new post, Is it just me, or should superhero movies be more like Flash Gordon?, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Nearly a decade after Iron Man kicked off the Marvel Cinematic Universe, inspiring a tsunami of superpowered cinema, regular releases are still being met with critical and commercial success. It must learn from one of the greats: Flash Gordon. It was written and performed by Queen, a supergroup at the peak of its powers plus the perfect match for the movie’s glam campness. Any list of soundtracks more memorable than Flash Gordon’s would be a short one – an would include no other superhero films.

gamesradar wrote a new post, Total War: Warhammer 2’s Lizardmen are a brutal blast to play, while the campaign offers a different kind of scale, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
So in a way, yes, Warhammer 2 is an expansion, just not in the way the more cynical might expect. Choke-points are apparently going to be more of a thing in Total Warhammer 2, (look, I’m just calling it that now, okay? Evidently I have not yet mastered the intricacies of Total Warhammer 2’s reptilian ravagers, but that’s fine. As in fact should Total Warhammer 2 in general. Total Warhammer 2 might well be operating like an expansion as well as a sequel, but the eventual scale and shape of that p

Maybe that bag’s luggage, maybe it’s some kind of matter three dimensional beings like us can’t fully comprehend. Maybe worth looking at if you really like the ricochet perk, but otherwise maybe save your coins for the other two because they’re absolutely worth the coins. The first of the weapon bundles get you Monte Carlo, which is a must have. Red Death is another insta-get – it heals you and speeds up reloads with each kill. As ever, don’t forget Three of Coins, Exotic Shards and you’ve got u

gamesradar wrote a new post, Why Wonder Woman’s finale is the best (and worst) thing about the movie, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Rarely has a movie’s final showdown left me so torn as Wonder Woman ’s. But that’s not the case in Wonder Woman. His death acts as the final piece clicking into place for Diana, turning her into Wonder Woman. We’ve heard a lot over the years about how Wonder Woman is a ‘tricky’ character. But in the final minutes of Wonder Woman, Jenkins makes her so much more than that.

Time for a Cannonball! No, not the pool-clearing diving maneuver – the Marvel comics mutant. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Charlie Heaton – who plays Jonathan Byers on Stranger Things – will join the ever-expanding X-Men universe in the upcoming New Mutants film as Sam Guthrie; AKA Cannonball. Williams will be playing Wolfsbane, while Taylor-Joy will take on the role of Magik. Interestingly enough, this isn’t the first Stranger Things star that’s been keen to take on a role in the X-Men u

Final Fantasy 15 is… strange. Final Fantasy 15 is a totally different beastWhen I finished Final Fantasy 15 for my review in the days leading up to release, I had expected that, other than the occasional DLC mission or tech fix, my experience was generally going to be the state of Final Fantasy 15. And then it dawned on me: this is how Final Fantasy stays relevant in the modern era. And then, Final Fantasy 15 got an update late May, with a survey asking players what they want to see next. If you’re in the market for a PS4 and into opulence, maybe hold off for a week or two. Gold-colored PS4 slim models have been spotted at retailers, though it looks like they’re not supposed to be up for sale yet. Reddit user Christopher_Maxim says he took this picture at a Walmart just before employees took the box to the back of the store. Note the 1TB hard drive marker and $249 price tag, which is $50 cheaper than the current standard price for 1TB systems. Looks like a price drop may be on th

gamesradar wrote a new post, Warner Bros. may sue Universal over the name of its monster-filled cinematic universe, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Well, some folks over at Warner Bros. sure did, and now there may be legal repercussions for Universal. According to The Hollywood Reporter, WB is “mulling legal action” against Universal for the name. See, “Dark Universe” is the working title for a DC film based on the Justice League Dark series of comics, and has been since 2013. Since Dark Universe is (currently) just a working title for the film, WB may not pursue action. Who knows if The Mummy will be any good, but I for one hope the Dark U

It was originally announced with a release date of August 22 in the US and August 25 in the UK. This doesn’t bode well for your odds if you’re playing as one such counselor in Gun Media’s recent video game adaptation of the slasher franchise! Additionally, never, ever forget that the Jason player can hear your voice chat when he’s close as well. Leave no cabin unturnedYou’re not just a counselor in Friday the 13th, you’re also a professional cabin raider. Every time you hear this, it means that Jason has received another power to use in his hunt for counselor blood. First, approach Jason w

gamesradar wrote a new post, Nintendo Switch’s voice chat situation takes a turn with this odd Splatoon 2 headset adapter, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
Nintendo Switch will have a separate smartphone app to handle voice chat in online games like Splatoon 2, we know that. That’s one wire into your Switch, one wire into your phone’s headphone jack, and one wire into the headset itself. Before you panic, there’s no reason to believe the vaguely squid-shaped doohickeys will be required to participate in Nintendo Switch voice chat. It looks like all it does is mix together the voice chat and game audio for output through one device. The voice chat a

A new Life is Strange project was recently announced as being in development by Dontnod Entertainment, but French website Gamekult reports that another game set in the Life is Strange universe may also be in development. Developed at least partly by Deck Nine (formerly Idol Minds), this new tale is – judging by leaked art which Gamekult claims was hosted briefly on Deck Nine’s website – a prequel to the original game. If that is who we see in these pics, that would definitely place this new game

gamesradar wrote a new post, Can we all please agree that being the ‘chosen one’ in RPGs needs to stop?, on the site GoGame.com 9 years, 2 months ago
The ‘chosen one’ main quest trope needs to stop. Because you’re the chosen one who’s been reluctantly pushed into a heroic deed by the main quest. Leading to some low-key anxiety that the game could suddenly end if you don’t start the main quest instantly, it’s disastrous. A foolish thought perhaps, as the game will actually wait until you begin the main quest to start bringing everything crashing around your feet. Or simply shrug off the responsibility altogether, and end the main quest however
