gamesradar wrote a new post, Shadow of the Colossus’ new secret begs the question: how much should (or shouldn’t) a remake add?, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 6 months ago
When the Shadow of the Colossus remake from Bluepoint Studios arrived on PS4 earlier this month, some players were surprised to learn that it was not, as they’d predicted, a 1:1 remake. This prompted players to search the remake for new secrets, and indeed, they found some in the form of 79 golden coins littered across the map. This is the big reward for collecting all 79 coins. Still WanderingWhat I’m curious about is how this affects the way people see Shadow of the Colossus for PS4. So does t

gamesradar wrote a new post, More games should give us the chance to explore their worlds with the difficulty turned completely off, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 6 months ago
Not only is the Discovery Tour mode actually a great idea, I want to see more of it in other games. Open world games can be overwhelming – fittingly, Ubisoft titles are the worst culprits for this – and I’d love the opportunity to just wander around and explore for a while without worrying about getting into trouble. Removing the difficulty gives you a chance to look around you. With that in mind, why should anyone be annoyed at a ‘no difficulty’ mode that removes enemies? It won’t affect the di

Few people have stayed with God Of War for as long as Cory Barlog, writer and director of Kratos’ return on PS4. In the time between God Of War releases Barlog has dabbled in film VFX and even spent time working with his idol George Miller on the Mad Max universe. It’s all fed back into how he approaches creating this new God Of War on PlayStation 4. To an extent, the idea was inspired by something very simple: the old God Of War menu screens. It’s very fun and very difficult.”You’ll notice Barl

gamesradar wrote a new post, 8 things to watch out for this week, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 6 months ago
Here’s our pick of the eight things to watch out for this week. Don’t dismiss Black Panther as just another superhero movieIf your first reaction to the thought of seeing Black Panther is ‘oh god, not another superhero movie’, stop. Black Panther is just so much more than that. Go watch Black Panther, experience Wakanda and take a good look at that amazing suit. And with Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 re-releasing on Switch this week, there’s now a real sense of consolidation to the whole affair.

Avengers: Infinity War is surely going to prove that, even if what he gets up to in the third Avengers flick isn’t entirely clear. Marvel has released a behind-the-scenes clip showing off Thanos’ gauntlet – and it might have given us the biggest clue yet as to what direction the movie’s final act might go in. That’s Thanos’ gauntlet with four Infinity Stones. What better way to cap off the biggest superhero movie ever than with Thanos getting his purple mitts on the Soul Stone? But, still, we ha

One of Deadpool’s defining traits is that he’s a superhero who knows he’s in a comic book. I mean the limited comic series You Are Deadpool, from writer Al Ewing and artists Salva Espin and Paco Diaz, which blurs the line between comic and tabletop roleplaying. But hopefully this preview will help make it clear:You can see even more pages on Twitter:Presenting… YOU ARE DEADPOOL, coming this May! The first teaser for Sony Pictures’ Venom movie is here, and fans are feeling a bit… well, underwhelmed. But just in case you need a refresher: in the comics, “Venom” is not one individual, but two. The shared hatred between the two inspires them to fight Spidey together as a singular entity, self-dubbed “Venom.” For a movie called and centered on the Venom character, this teaser has very little… well, Venom. Room for improvementThis isn’t to say the Venom teaser is perfect.

It also eases the player into the experience through cinematic sequences that very competently adapt the qualities lauded in film. But then you find yourself in a fiction of unquestionable thematic richness, of riveting emotional power, whose fundamental artistic qualities are completely fused with its interactivity. The stature of Shadow Of The Colossus as something worth discussing is entirely dependent on it being a game, and not a book or a film. Though the ending is bittersweet, Shadow Of T

Professional Jason players in Friday the 13th: The Game are a special breed of diabolical tricksters. In fact, it’s possible that proximity voice chat is incrementally changing the face of online gaming as we know it. While Friday the 13th: The Game is a great example of the concept’s potential, it’s only really scratched the surface of what’s possible when using proximity chat as a tool for creating wholly unique horror experiences. Meanwhile, Sea of Thieves’ proximity chat has already allowed

So far, most of the previews of Ni no Kuni 2: Revenant Kingdom have been concerned with how the combat works, and how its Studio Ghibli aesthetic will knock you on your ass. But it does say something about Ni no Kuni 2’s wholesome world that even the low-level cannon fodder is so perfectly designed – including chubby hamsters with mohawks – that I feel bad about massacring them. Ni no Kuni 2 is the story of a young king and his attempts to reclaim his throne and build a happy kingdom. Of course,

Epic Games’ latest update for Battle Royale, which is out now, introduces a box of chocolates’ worth of new goodies to enjoy, both cosmetic and otherwise. The patch notes don’t detail how much damage the crossbow is capable of but, considering the unlimited ammo advantage, I doubt it’s going to be crazy powerful. The patch also brings a range of hot fixes and updates to Fortnite Battle Royale. Save the World , Fortnite’s PVE component, is receiving an update, too, but you can read the full patch

Carrying the flagOn its surface, the Year of the Dog event might not seem much different from last year’s Year of the Rooster event, or indeed any seasonal Overwatch event. That feature is Capture the Flag, which itself evolved from last year’s Lunar New Year event and its “Capture the Rooster” mode. All of these rules will be implemented on a new map, set in Thailand, created specifically for Capture the Flag. Previously, CTF games relied on existing maps for players to enjoy, making the Thaila
