gamesradar wrote a new post, Descenders carries on the legacy of games like Tony Hawk, SSX, and Skate by nailing the rush of extreme sports, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
Think back to the first time you fired up Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. Of course, we know how far-fetched and outlandish Pro Skater got. Roel Ezendam, from developer RageSquid, acknowledges the influence of games like the Pro Skater series on Descenders. “It definitely goes back to those days of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater, SSX, Skate,” Ezendam tells me. As someone who grew up on extreme sports games, I know what I want: the next Tony Hawk.

But when he’s tasked with rescuing a senator’s missing daughter, the already-shaky foundations of Joe’s world start to crumble. In one bravura sequence Joe’s assault on a town house plays out almost entirely over black-and-white security camera footage. But for any film to invoke the spirit of Travis Bickle, and not suffer irredeemably, is quite the achievement. THE VERDICT: Lynne Ramsay returns with a scuzzy, stripped-back thriller focused on the man, rather than the mission. Director: Lynne Ra

gamesradar wrote a new post, Remember Skyrim’s radiant AI? It’s got the potential to revolutionise RPGs, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
Radiant AI. When radiant AI goes wrong, it goes… right? Oddly enough, it’s only when radiant AI goes wrong that you get to see just how powerful it is. Instead of focusing all its efforts on radiant AI in Skyrim, Bethesda created the radiant story system. But when done right, radiant story and radiant AI should feed into each other in a self-fulfilling cycle.

But when he’s tasked with rescuing a senator’s missing daughter, the already-shaky foundations of Joe’s world start to crumble. Tormented by his past, Joe is plagued by disorientating and disturbing visions of the abuse inflicted by his father and the horrors he witnessed as a soldier. Ramsay trusts her audience to piece together Joe’s past as it unfolds. Clearly he’s found a kindred spirit in Ramsay. But for any film to invoke the spirit of Travis Bickle, and not suffer irredeemably, is quite t

gamesradar wrote a new post, Nintendo Switch then vs now, how a year can change a console – and a company’s – fate, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
On the first anniversary of the Nintendo Switch , it seems strange to look back at that first reveal video and remember the hubbub of confusion and excitement. So even before Switch was announced, it was clear it had some work to do to change public and industry perception of what Nintendo could really do. By the 10 month mark, Nintendo announced the Switch had outsold the Wii U’s lifetime sales, with over 14 million consoles sold, and counting. Seeing that kind of support isn’t only a massive b

Released on the 10th anniversary of Heath Ledger’s death, this affectionate doc offers fans a welcome chance to revisit the life and career of an extraordinary talent gone far too soon. But it feels inescapably like a snapshot. The interviews, meanwhile, provide a warm sense of what it was like to be caught in his gravitational pull, and there are some lovely heartfelt anecdotes, admittedly buried within a few too many adulatory accounts. Despite its flaws, I Am Heath Ledger is essential viewing

What it should’ve won: We’ve scienced the shit out of it and we firmly believe it deserved Best Adapted Screenplay over The Big Short. What it should’ve won: Best Film, surely. The collective sigh of relief from Star Wars fans could have been heard on Jakku. What it should’ve won: Best Director, obviously, though Best Sound would have been nice – the movie’s aural landscapes are fantastic. Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor… This should have been an awards sweep.

A new update for Xbox One is beginning to roll out to a select few members of the Xbox Insider program, and it sounds like some big quality-of-life improvements are on the way. Betwixt those two resolutions lies 2560x1440p, also known as QHD (Quad High Definition), which is particularly popular for computer monitors. The support for 1440p includes games and media, so this isn’t just going to make your dashboard look crisper – you should notice some improvements in-game too. Interestingly, Xbox W

gamesradar wrote a new post, So far Far Cry 5 nails what makes the series great, just with added bears, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
I laughed a lot playing Far Cry 5. Even the game’s opening moments, with its local lawmen and US Marshals feels far more grounded and closer to home than before. But it says plenty about how well Far Cry 5’s world appears to be structured that it took me quite some time to get there. I’ve said before that Far Cry probably has one good run left in its current template, before it has to change to avoid sequel fatigue. If you want to know more then check out Far Cry 5’s weirdest mission yet.

You can find more about Far Cry 5’s gameplay overall here, but this just the bear, the whole bear and nothing but the bear. You can unlock Cheeseburger almost at the start of the game. gamesradar wrote a new post, Stop everything: Morrowind might have already told us the main plot for Elder Scrolls 6, on the site GoGame.com 8 years, 5 months ago
I’m going to get right into it, because this is pretty frickin’ exciting: a benign screenshot from Morrowind might foreshadow the central plot of Elder Scrolls 6 . They are apparently only waiting for the Empire to collapse in Civil War or some other crisis. We’d certainly need a Hortator then – if we had one, maybe they could travel to Akaviri before the invasion and weaken or stop it”. If this foreshadowing ends up coming true (fingers crossed), it points to you becoming a Hortator in Elder Sc
